Depresija je doživjela veliki porast zadnjih godina te je CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) objavio kako je samo u SAD-u uporaba antidepresiva porasla s 7,7 na 12,7 posto među osobama starijima od 12 godina.
Sve više ljudi obolijeva te s tim raste i potreba za farmakoterapijom – lijekovima koji će donekle olakšati borbu s tom bolešću.
Iako zvuči jednostavno, "uzmi tabletu i budi sretan", nije tako.
Veliki broj ljudi koji su na terapiji antidepresivima ne razumije kako stvar zaista unkcionira ili im nije adekvatno objašnjena potreba i nužnost svakodnevnog uzimanja terapije, piše Portal Zdravlje.

Antidepresivi su velika grupa lijekova koja obuhvaća mnoge mehanizme djelovanja, a većinski djeluju na živčani sustav. Cilj im je vratiti balans neurotransmitera u mozgu, za koje se smatra da su glavni krivci za razvoj bolesti.
Često djeluju na razine serotonina i noradrenalina, mogu djelovati i na razine dopamina, a neki pojedini lijekovi mogu djelovati na više neurotransmitera odjednom, blokirajući njihovu razgradnju.
Osim što im ime upućuje na njihovu glavnu indikaciju, liječenje depresije, mogu se koristiti i za mnoga druga stanja kao što je anksiozni poremećaj, agitacije, bipolarni poremećaj i drugi.
Ovim lijekovima je potrebno šest do osam tjedana kako bi postigli svoj maksimalni učinak, pri čemu je vrlo bitno svakodnevno uzimanje terapije. Upravo zbog toga se često može dogoditi da pacijenti smatraju kako im terapija ne djeluje, no u pitanju može biti samo krivo ili prekratko uzimanje terapije.

Neki pacijenti nisu upoznati s tim te stoga posežu za lijekovima samo kada osjete da im je potrebno, čime se ne postiže željeni učinak i smatra se da nisu djelotvorni. No, u nekim slučajevima, pojedini lijekovi možda uistinu nisu djelotvorni za neke pojedince zbog čega bi se trebali savjetovati sa svojim specijalistom oko zamjene terapije.
Upravo zato što im treba duži period vremena da se pokaže njihov učinak u organizmu ne mogu se smatrati tzv. "pilulama sreće", jer oni zasigurno neće riješiti problem u očekivano kratkom vremenu, upozorava Portal Zdravlje.
Antidepresivi, u svakom slučaju, nisu bombončići. A da bi se dobio pravi učinak i da bi zaista pomogli, nužno je da se uzimaju pravilno i uz stručno vodstvo.

Depresija je doživjela veliki porast zadnjih godina te je CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) objavio kako je samo u SAD-u uporaba antidepresiva porasla s 7,7 na 12,7 posto među osobama starijima od 12 godina.
Sve više ljudi obolijeva te s tim raste i potreba za farmakoterapijom – lijekovima koji će donekle olakšati borbu s tom bolešću.
Iako zvuči jednostavno, "uzmi tabletu i budi sretan", nije tako.
Veliki broj ljudi koji su na terapiji antidepresivima ne razumije kako stvar zaista unkcionira ili im nije adekvatno objašnjena potreba i nužnost svakodnevnog uzimanja terapije, piše Portal Zdravlje.

Antidepresivi su velika grupa lijekova koja obuhvaća mnoge mehanizme djelovanja, a većinski djeluju na živčani sustav. Cilj im je vratiti balans neurotransmitera u mozgu, za koje se smatra da su glavni krivci za razvoj bolesti.
Često djeluju na razine serotonina i noradrenalina, mogu djelovati i na razine dopamina, a neki pojedini lijekovi mogu djelovati na više neurotransmitera odjednom, blokirajući njihovu razgradnju.
Osim što im ime upućuje na njihovu glavnu indikaciju, liječenje depresije, mogu se koristiti i za mnoga druga stanja kao što je anksiozni poremećaj, agitacije, bipolarni poremećaj i drugi.
Ovim lijekovima je potrebno šest do osam tjedana kako bi postigli svoj maksimalni učinak, pri čemu je vrlo bitno svakodnevno uzimanje terapije. Upravo zbog toga se često može dogoditi da pacijenti smatraju kako im terapija ne djeluje, no u pitanju može biti samo krivo ili prekratko uzimanje terapije.

Neki pacijenti nisu upoznati s tim te stoga posežu za lijekovima samo kada osjete da im je potrebno, čime se ne postiže željeni učinak i smatra se da nisu djelotvorni. No, u nekim slučajevima, pojedini lijekovi možda uistinu nisu djelotvorni za neke pojedince zbog čega bi se trebali savjetovati sa svojim specijalistom oko zamjene terapije.
Upravo zato što im treba duži period vremena da se pokaže njihov učinak u organizmu ne mogu se smatrati tzv. "pilulama sreće", jer oni zasigurno neće riješiti problem u očekivano kratkom vremenu, upozorava Portal Zdravlje.
Antidepresivi, u svakom slučaju, nisu bombončići. A da bi se dobio pravi učinak i da bi zaista pomogli, nužno je da se uzimaju pravilno i uz stručno vodstvo.
