Dokumentarci ili dokumentarne serije o poznatim popkulturnim ličnostima postale su unatrag pola godine Netflixov "must have". Ljetos smo npr. imali "Arnolda" i "Wham!". Jesenas imamo "Beckhama" i "Slya". Sezonski niz nastavlja i "Robbie Williams".

Četverodijelna dokumentarna serija o Robbieju Williamsu, jednom od najpopularnijih britanskih pjevača svih vremena fokusirana je na njegov život i karijeru. Ili kako to službeni sinopsis veli "Nakon 25 godina svoje rekordne solo karijere, Robbie se osvrće na mlađeg sebe i razmišlja o životu provedenom pod svjetlima reflektora".

U režiji Joea Pearlmana, "Robbie Williams" obvezna je literatura za fanove, ali i tzv. slučajnim namjernicima može biti interesantan, ako ne i okorjelim filmofilima i fanovima dokumentaraca koji bi se mogli požaliti na višak konvencionalnosti i hagiografskog pristupa te manjak kritičnosti, privučeni poznatim imenom njegova producenta.

Naime, producent Asif Kapadia je autor odličnih biografskih dokumentaraca kao što su "Amy", "Senna" i "Diego Maradona" koji su dali dublji psihološki i sociološki pogled u živote njihovih aktera. Za "Amy", o pokojnoj pjevačici Winehouse, osvojio je Oscara.

Definitivno, "Robbie Williams" nije razina i dubina Kapadijinih prethodnih filmova, premda se ispočetka čini da bi mogao biti kad vidimo britanskog pjevača u boksericama i majici bez rukava, sugerirajući da će ovo biti intiman dokumentarac i/li da će napraviti nekakav emotivni striptiz. Nešto od najavljene intime i emotivnog striptiza opstoji u filmu, ali ne toliko.

No, rekosmo, fanovima će bit zanimljivo vidjeti čovjeka iza zvijezde i proživjeti Robbiejevo 25-godišnje glazbeno putovanje, onima koji su bili na njegovom koncertu u Zagrebu 2013. (kao potpisnik ovih redaka) ili ljetos u Puli, posebice ako su se ikad pitali kakav je pjevač jednom kad siđe s pozornice, koji su njegovi snovi i strahovi. Williams pri početku dokumentarne serije spominje strah, sram... cijeli spektar ljudskih emocija.

"Gotovo mi je 50 godina, otac sam četvero djece, u braku s divnom ženom", ističe Robbie, ali osjeća "kao da me prošlost uhvatila u kravatu", zbog čega se ovom serijom želi osloboditi njezina stiska. I tad kreće kronika Williamsovih putešestvija od boy benda Take That do zvjezdane solo karijere.

Djetinjstvo se iz nekog razloga preskače. Krećemo od toga da je napustio školu i pridružio se bendu koji je "trebao biti engleska verzija američke senzacije New Kids On The Block" i na kraju postao "najpoplarnija britanska grupa nakon Beatlesa". Kad su Take That "eksplodirali", kreće Robbiejevo ludilo.

"Uzimao sam sve čega sam se mogu domoći", otkriva Williams koji je pio bocu votke prije probe i gubio mnogo dana na mamurluke, izgubivši usput pojam o sebi. "Mislim da nisam mogao osjećati ništa osim mamurluka", kaže. No, to je bio samo početak.

Nakon što se razišao sa članovima Take Thata, ljut na "zlatnog dečka" Garyja Barlowa, Robbie je postao još popularniji kad je njegova solo karijera poletjela u zvijezde na krilima velikog hita "Angel", što je sobom povuklo ovisnost o cugi i drogi. Znao je spavati samo dva sata u dva dana.

"Nisam imao alate za nositi se s onim što slijedi", priznaje Williams i dodaje "Trebam proraditi mnogo emocija kad gledam sebe tokom godina" gledajući snimke s kraja devedesetih (nastup na Glastonburyju, objava drugog solo albuma). Serija prikazuje njegove uspone i padove, trijumfe i neuspjehe, a on ih komentira.

Šteta je da "Robbie Williams" nema nekog sugovornika, neku "govoreću glavu" ("talking head"), ne računajući nakratko njegovu suprugu Aydu Field. Pred kamerom nastupa isključivo Robbie i priča o sebi, preskačući dati uvid u neke dijelove života. Osim djetinjstva skriven je i njegov ljubavni život. Vidimo ga 2000. na godišnjem odmoru s Geri Halliwell, članicom Spice Girls, ali nije precizirano jesu li bili par.

Zato se precizira koliko su ga razvlačili britanski tabloidi, čak i više od približnog vršnjaka Davida Beckhama, ne čitajući između redaka stihove njegove hit-pjesme "Feel" ("samo želim osjetiti pravu ljubav, osjetiti dom u kojem živim"). Odnosno, da on podsvjesno traži ljubav i toplinu, daleko od svjetala reflektora.

Stihove iz iste pjesme "Ne želim umrijeti, ali nije mi ni do života" Williams takoreći ponavlja u stvarnosti prisjećajući se epizode kad je zamalo umro od droge. Može se reći da ga je Ayda spasila od ovisnosti i depresije, kao i Take That "reunion". "Bila sam tri godine s Robom prije stvarnog upoznavanja s Robbiejem", govori Ayda.

Trebale bi možda još tri epizode serije za stvarno upoznavanje Robbieja, ali čini se da je Williams s dokumentarcem ponajprije htio pokajati se i ispovijediti za greške, pokazati da sada "živi drukčije" (muž, otac) i "prihvaća svoj život". "Robbie Williams" je u konačnici najpotrebniji Robbieju.

Dokumentarci ili dokumentarne serije o poznatim popkulturnim ličnostima postale su unatrag pola godine Netflixov "must have". Ljetos smo npr. imali "Arnolda" i "Wham!". Jesenas imamo "Beckhama" i "Slya". Sezonski niz nastavlja i "Robbie Williams".

Četverodijelna dokumentarna serija o Robbieju Williamsu, jednom od najpopularnijih britanskih pjevača svih vremena fokusirana je na njegov život i karijeru. Ili kako to službeni sinopsis veli "Nakon 25 godina svoje rekordne solo karijere, Robbie se osvrće na mlađeg sebe i razmišlja o životu provedenom pod svjetlima reflektora".

U režiji Joea Pearlmana, "Robbie Williams" obvezna je literatura za fanove, ali i tzv. slučajnim namjernicima može biti interesantan, ako ne i okorjelim filmofilima i fanovima dokumentaraca koji bi se mogli požaliti na višak konvencionalnosti i hagiografskog pristupa te manjak kritičnosti, privučeni poznatim imenom njegova producenta.

Naime, producent Asif Kapadia je autor odličnih biografskih dokumentaraca kao što su "Amy", "Senna" i "Diego Maradona" koji su dali dublji psihološki i sociološki pogled u živote njihovih aktera. Za "Amy", o pokojnoj pjevačici Winehouse, osvojio je Oscara.

Definitivno, "Robbie Williams" nije razina i dubina Kapadijinih prethodnih filmova, premda se ispočetka čini da bi mogao biti kad vidimo britanskog pjevača u boksericama i majici bez rukava, sugerirajući da će ovo biti intiman dokumentarac i/li da će napraviti nekakav emotivni striptiz. Nešto od najavljene intime i emotivnog striptiza opstoji u filmu, ali ne toliko.

No, rekosmo, fanovima će bit zanimljivo vidjeti čovjeka iza zvijezde i proživjeti Robbiejevo 25-godišnje glazbeno putovanje, onima koji su bili na njegovom koncertu u Zagrebu 2013. (kao potpisnik ovih redaka) ili ljetos u Puli, posebice ako su se ikad pitali kakav je pjevač jednom kad siđe s pozornice, koji su njegovi snovi i strahovi. Williams pri početku dokumentarne serije spominje strah, sram... cijeli spektar ljudskih emocija.

"Gotovo mi je 50 godina, otac sam četvero djece, u braku s divnom ženom", ističe Robbie, ali osjeća "kao da me prošlost uhvatila u kravatu", zbog čega se ovom serijom želi osloboditi njezina stiska. I tad kreće kronika Williamsovih putešestvija od boy benda Take That do zvjezdane solo karijere.

Djetinjstvo se iz nekog razloga preskače. Krećemo od toga da je napustio školu i pridružio se bendu koji je "trebao biti engleska verzija američke senzacije New Kids On The Block" i na kraju postao "najpoplarnija britanska grupa nakon Beatlesa". Kad su Take That "eksplodirali", kreće Robbiejevo ludilo.

"Uzimao sam sve čega sam se mogu domoći", otkriva Williams koji je pio bocu votke prije probe i gubio mnogo dana na mamurluke, izgubivši usput pojam o sebi. "Mislim da nisam mogao osjećati ništa osim mamurluka", kaže. No, to je bio samo početak.

Nakon što se razišao sa članovima Take Thata, ljut na "zlatnog dečka" Garyja Barlowa, Robbie je postao još popularniji kad je njegova solo karijera poletjela u zvijezde na krilima velikog hita "Angel", što je sobom povuklo ovisnost o cugi i drogi. Znao je spavati samo dva sata u dva dana.

"Nisam imao alate za nositi se s onim što slijedi", priznaje Williams i dodaje "Trebam proraditi mnogo emocija kad gledam sebe tokom godina" gledajući snimke s kraja devedesetih (nastup na Glastonburyju, objava drugog solo albuma). Serija prikazuje njegove uspone i padove, trijumfe i neuspjehe, a on ih komentira.

Šteta je da "Robbie Williams" nema nekog sugovornika, neku "govoreću glavu" ("talking head"), ne računajući nakratko njegovu suprugu Aydu Field. Pred kamerom nastupa isključivo Robbie i priča o sebi, preskačući dati uvid u neke dijelove života. Osim djetinjstva skriven je i njegov ljubavni život. Vidimo ga 2000. na godišnjem odmoru s Geri Halliwell, članicom Spice Girls, ali nije precizirano jesu li bili par.

Zato se precizira koliko su ga razvlačili britanski tabloidi, čak i više od približnog vršnjaka Davida Beckhama, ne čitajući između redaka stihove njegove hit-pjesme "Feel" ("samo želim osjetiti pravu ljubav, osjetiti dom u kojem živim"). Odnosno, da on podsvjesno traži ljubav i toplinu, daleko od svjetala reflektora.

Stihove iz iste pjesme "Ne želim umrijeti, ali nije mi ni do života" Williams takoreći ponavlja u stvarnosti prisjećajući se epizode kad je zamalo umro od droge. Može se reći da ga je Ayda spasila od ovisnosti i depresije, kao i Take That "reunion". "Bila sam tri godine s Robom prije stvarnog upoznavanja s Robbiejem", govori Ayda.

Trebale bi možda još tri epizode serije za stvarno upoznavanje Robbieja, ali čini se da je Williams s dokumentarcem ponajprije htio pokajati se i ispovijediti za greške, pokazati da sada "živi drukčije" (muž, otac) i "prihvaća svoj život". "Robbie Williams" je u konačnici najpotrebniji Robbieju.
