Atentator iz novog filma velikog Davida Finchera "Ubojica" ("The Killer") prilično je intrigantan lik u tumačenju Michaela Fassbendera . Fincher i Fassbender ulaze u um bezimenog plaćenog ubojice i njegova unutarnja razmišljanja prenose van u obliku "voiceover" monologa. Ubojicu upoznajemo u Parizu, gdje se upravo nalazi na višednevnoj "čeki" za idući atentat, skriven u napuštenom uredu firme "WeWork".
‘Dog eat dog‘ svijet
"Nevjerojatno je koliko fizički iscrpljujuće može biti ne raditi ništa. Ako ne možete podnijeti dosadu, ovaj posao nije za vas", govori on. Poduža uvodna scena efektno definira lik i njegovo djelo. Dok Ubojica iščekuje da se njegova meta pojavi u zgradi nasuprot, gledatelj osluškuje njegove misli i uviđa da ima nihilističko-filozofski pogled na "dog eat dog"/"survival of the fittest" svijet.
"Od početka povijesti, nekolicina je uvijek iskorištavala mnoge. To je kamen temeljac civilizacije. Krv i žbuka koja veže sve cigle. Što god je potrebno, pobrinite se da budete jedan od rijetkih, a ne jedan od mnogih", razmišlja naglas Ubojica. "Skepticizam se često pogrešno tumači kao cinizam. Većina ljudi odbija povjerovati da život poslije smrti nije ništa više od hladne, beskrajne praznine, ali ja to prihvaćam, zajedno sa slobodom koja proizlazi iz priznavanja te istine", kaže on.

"Čovjek se rađa, živi svoj život, a onda na kraju umire. Sto četrdeset milijuna ljudskih bića rađa se svake godine, manje-više. Svjetsko stanovništvo broji oko 7,8 milijardi ljudi. Svake sekunde umre 1,8 ljudi, dok se 4,2 rađa u toj istoj sekundi. Ništa što sam ikada napravio neće utjecati na ove metrike", Ubojica opravdava svoje postupke i svodi "modus operandi".
"Moj proces je čisto logistički, usko usmjeren prema dizajnu. Nisam ovdje da bih zauzeo stranu. Nije moje da formuliram bilo kakvo mišljenje. Nitko tko me može priuštiti ne treba gubiti vrijeme da me pridobije za neki cilj. Ne služim bogu, niti državi. Ne vijorim nekom zastavom. Ako sam učinkovit, to je zbog jedne jednostavne činjenice: boli me k...".
Kod njega se "sve svodi na pripremu, pozornost na detalje" i manjak empatije. "Empatija je slabost. Slabost je ranjivost. Drži se svog plana. Predvidi, nemoj improvizirati. Ne vjeruj nikome. Nikada ne prepusti prednost. Vodi samo onu bitku za koju si plaćen", pripovijeda on citirajući Popaja ("Ono sam što jesam"), izvodeći yogu i slušajući Smithse jer "glazba je korisna distrakcija, alat za fokusiranje, čuva unutarnji glas od lutanja".
Fanovi "Collaterala " Michaela Manna Toma Cruisea ("Sedamnaest milijuna ljudi. Peto najveće gospodarstvo na svijetu i nitko se ne poznaje. Čitao sam o tipu koji uđe u podzemnu i umre. Šest sati se vozio podzemnom prije nego što je itko primijetio njegovo tijelo kako kruži po L. A.-u, a ljudi sjede i izlaze pokraj njega. Nitko ne primjećuje...").

Podjela na ‘mnoge‘ i ‘rijetke‘
No, kao netko disciplinirana uma, detaljist i perfekcionist, sklon cinizmu, crnom humoru, preciznosti, opsesivnosti i učinkovitosti, on je istovremeno i surogat za Finchera, režisera filmova "Alien 3 ", "Sedam ", "Igra ", "Klub boraca ", "Soba panike ", "Zodijak ", "Neobična priča o Benjaminu Buttonu ", "Društvena mreža ", "Muškarci koji mrze žene ", "Nestala " i "Mank ".
Nakon niza "serial killer" projekata (tu je i serija "Mindhunter "), došao je red na profesionalnog plaćenog ubojicu, uz "twist" da je on sada postao protagonist umjesto antagonist. Jednako tako, uloga je skrojena za sjajnog metodskoga glumca Fassbendera ("Glad ", "Eden Lake ", "Macbeth ", "Steve Jobs ", "Savjetnik "), svojevrsni produžetak njegovih "bezdušnih" likova iz "Sramote " i "Prometeja ".
Fassbender i Fincher našli su se kao Daniel Day-Lewis i Paul Thomas Anderson na "Fantomskoj niti ", ali i otišli u krajnost čak i više od njih dvojice. U "Manku" je Fincherov perfekcionizam na mahove postao samosvrhovit i distanciran, tako i ovdje. "Distanca je jedina prednost", veli Ubojica i ponavlja "Sudbina je placebo. Jedini životni put je onaj iza tebe. Ako u kratkom vremenu koje nam je svima dano ne možete to prihvatiti, možda niste jedan od rijetkih. Možda ste baš poput mene, jedan od mnogih...".

Metafilmski je intrigantno da Fincher u neku ruku snima film o samome sebi, no u tom pristupu se pomalo izgubio punokrvni žanrovski "movie". Odnosno, čini se da Fincher od nečeg žanrovski arhetipskog, što "Ubojica" načelno jest, svjesno pravi nešto "art(s)y" svedeno a la "Granice kontrole " Jima Jarmuscha Tilda Swinton Melvilleova "Samuraja".
Doista, u osnovi je "The Killer" akcijski triler o plaćenom ubojici kojeg se nadređeni pokušavaju riješiti poslije neuspjelog atentata, pri čemu strada njegova djevojka (Sophie Charlotte ), nakon čega on kreće na put osvete. Međutim, Fincher razbija mitologiju takvog filma i rastavlja je na proste faktore.
Istina, Fincher je režirao možda i najakcijskiju scenu karijere, orkestrirajući brutalan, veoma bolan okršaj Ubojice i Grubijana (Sala Baker ) u skladu s recentnim trendovima kinematografske akcije, od Jasona Bournea do Johna Wicka , tako da rade šake, noge i sve što borcima dođe pod ruku.
Pa ipak, to je rijetki proplamsaj akcijnosti u trileru zainteresiranijem za psihologiju nego akciju i tenziju koji parafrazira Ubojičin princip "Ako ne možete podnijeti dosadu, ovaj film nije za vas", povremeno testirajući strpljenje unatoč zarana određenom neužurbanom tempu. "The Killer" bi mogao podijeliti gledatelje na "mnoge" i "rijetke". Pitanje je samo tko će od njih biti mrzitelji filma, a tko obožavatelji.

Među pluseve filma svakako se ubraja crni humor, od lažnih imena ubojice i njegova prerušavanje u njemačkog turista (Francuzi ih izbjegavaju), preko scene u dizalu s mrtvim tijelom u kanti za smeće, do toga da je lik Tilde Swinton opisan kao "štapić za uho".

Atentator iz novog filma velikog Davida Finchera "Ubojica" ("The Killer") prilično je intrigantan lik u tumačenju Michaela Fassbendera . Fincher i Fassbender ulaze u um bezimenog plaćenog ubojice i njegova unutarnja razmišljanja prenose van u obliku "voiceover" monologa. Ubojicu upoznajemo u Parizu, gdje se upravo nalazi na višednevnoj "čeki" za idući atentat, skriven u napuštenom uredu firme "WeWork".
‘Dog eat dog‘ svijet
"Nevjerojatno je koliko fizički iscrpljujuće može biti ne raditi ništa. Ako ne možete podnijeti dosadu, ovaj posao nije za vas", govori on. Poduža uvodna scena efektno definira lik i njegovo djelo. Dok Ubojica iščekuje da se njegova meta pojavi u zgradi nasuprot, gledatelj osluškuje njegove misli i uviđa da ima nihilističko-filozofski pogled na "dog eat dog"/"survival of the fittest" svijet.
"Od početka povijesti, nekolicina je uvijek iskorištavala mnoge. To je kamen temeljac civilizacije. Krv i žbuka koja veže sve cigle. Što god je potrebno, pobrinite se da budete jedan od rijetkih, a ne jedan od mnogih", razmišlja naglas Ubojica. "Skepticizam se često pogrešno tumači kao cinizam. Većina ljudi odbija povjerovati da život poslije smrti nije ništa više od hladne, beskrajne praznine, ali ja to prihvaćam, zajedno sa slobodom koja proizlazi iz priznavanja te istine", kaže on.

"Čovjek se rađa, živi svoj život, a onda na kraju umire. Sto četrdeset milijuna ljudskih bića rađa se svake godine, manje-više. Svjetsko stanovništvo broji oko 7,8 milijardi ljudi. Svake sekunde umre 1,8 ljudi, dok se 4,2 rađa u toj istoj sekundi. Ništa što sam ikada napravio neće utjecati na ove metrike", Ubojica opravdava svoje postupke i svodi "modus operandi".
"Moj proces je čisto logistički, usko usmjeren prema dizajnu. Nisam ovdje da bih zauzeo stranu. Nije moje da formuliram bilo kakvo mišljenje. Nitko tko me može priuštiti ne treba gubiti vrijeme da me pridobije za neki cilj. Ne služim bogu, niti državi. Ne vijorim nekom zastavom. Ako sam učinkovit, to je zbog jedne jednostavne činjenice: boli me k...".
Kod njega se "sve svodi na pripremu, pozornost na detalje" i manjak empatije. "Empatija je slabost. Slabost je ranjivost. Drži se svog plana. Predvidi, nemoj improvizirati. Ne vjeruj nikome. Nikada ne prepusti prednost. Vodi samo onu bitku za koju si plaćen", pripovijeda on citirajući Popaja ("Ono sam što jesam"), izvodeći yogu i slušajući Smithse jer "glazba je korisna distrakcija, alat za fokusiranje, čuva unutarnji glas od lutanja".
Fanovi "Collaterala " Michaela Manna Toma Cruisea ("Sedamnaest milijuna ljudi. Peto najveće gospodarstvo na svijetu i nitko se ne poznaje. Čitao sam o tipu koji uđe u podzemnu i umre. Šest sati se vozio podzemnom prije nego što je itko primijetio njegovo tijelo kako kruži po L. A.-u, a ljudi sjede i izlaze pokraj njega. Nitko ne primjećuje...").

Podjela na ‘mnoge‘ i ‘rijetke‘
No, kao netko disciplinirana uma, detaljist i perfekcionist, sklon cinizmu, crnom humoru, preciznosti, opsesivnosti i učinkovitosti, on je istovremeno i surogat za Finchera, režisera filmova "Alien 3 ", "Sedam ", "Igra ", "Klub boraca ", "Soba panike ", "Zodijak ", "Neobična priča o Benjaminu Buttonu ", "Društvena mreža ", "Muškarci koji mrze žene ", "Nestala " i "Mank ".
Nakon niza "serial killer" projekata (tu je i serija "Mindhunter "), došao je red na profesionalnog plaćenog ubojicu, uz "twist" da je on sada postao protagonist umjesto antagonist. Jednako tako, uloga je skrojena za sjajnog metodskoga glumca Fassbendera ("Glad ", "Eden Lake ", "Macbeth ", "Steve Jobs ", "Savjetnik "), svojevrsni produžetak njegovih "bezdušnih" likova iz "Sramote " i "Prometeja ".
Fassbender i Fincher našli su se kao Daniel Day-Lewis i Paul Thomas Anderson na "Fantomskoj niti ", ali i otišli u krajnost čak i više od njih dvojice. U "Manku" je Fincherov perfekcionizam na mahove postao samosvrhovit i distanciran, tako i ovdje. "Distanca je jedina prednost", veli Ubojica i ponavlja "Sudbina je placebo. Jedini životni put je onaj iza tebe. Ako u kratkom vremenu koje nam je svima dano ne možete to prihvatiti, možda niste jedan od rijetkih. Možda ste baš poput mene, jedan od mnogih...".

Metafilmski je intrigantno da Fincher u neku ruku snima film o samome sebi, no u tom pristupu se pomalo izgubio punokrvni žanrovski "movie". Odnosno, čini se da Fincher od nečeg žanrovski arhetipskog, što "Ubojica" načelno jest, svjesno pravi nešto "art(s)y" svedeno a la "Granice kontrole " Jima Jarmuscha Tilda Swinton Melvilleova "Samuraja".
Doista, u osnovi je "The Killer" akcijski triler o plaćenom ubojici kojeg se nadređeni pokušavaju riješiti poslije neuspjelog atentata, pri čemu strada njegova djevojka (Sophie Charlotte ), nakon čega on kreće na put osvete. Međutim, Fincher razbija mitologiju takvog filma i rastavlja je na proste faktore.
Istina, Fincher je režirao možda i najakcijskiju scenu karijere, orkestrirajući brutalan, veoma bolan okršaj Ubojice i Grubijana (Sala Baker ) u skladu s recentnim trendovima kinematografske akcije, od Jasona Bournea do Johna Wicka , tako da rade šake, noge i sve što borcima dođe pod ruku.
Pa ipak, to je rijetki proplamsaj akcijnosti u trileru zainteresiranijem za psihologiju nego akciju i tenziju koji parafrazira Ubojičin princip "Ako ne možete podnijeti dosadu, ovaj film nije za vas", povremeno testirajući strpljenje unatoč zarana određenom neužurbanom tempu. "The Killer" bi mogao podijeliti gledatelje na "mnoge" i "rijetke". Pitanje je samo tko će od njih biti mrzitelji filma, a tko obožavatelji.

Među pluseve filma svakako se ubraja crni humor, od lažnih imena ubojice i njegova prerušavanje u njemačkog turista (Francuzi ih izbjegavaju), preko scene u dizalu s mrtvim tijelom u kanti za smeće, do toga da je lik Tilde Swinton opisan kao "štapić za uho".
