Princezu Charlene od Monaca dugo krasi nadimak najtužnije princeze kojeg je stekla zahvaljujući fotografijama s njenog vjenčanja s princem Albertom, na kojima je Charlene, koja je navodno nekoliko puta pokušala pobjeći s vjenčanja, vidno rastresena i uplakana.
Princ Albert, jedini sin princa Rainiera III. i Grace Kelly, upoznao je južnoafričku olimpijsku plivačicu Charlene Wittstock početkom 2000-ih, no par je pričekao prije nego što je razmijenio zavjete u dvostrukoj građanskoj i vjerskoj ceremoniji. Iako nedvojbeno veličanstven, bio je to dan pokvaren glasinama i nagađanjima o stanju veze mladenke i mladoženje.

Princ Albert godinama je u javnosti poznat kao sinonim za skandal. Godine 2005., nedugo nakon stupanja na prijestolje, još jedna francuska publikacija otkrila je da Albert ima izvanbračnog 18-godišnjeg sina Alexandrea s bivšom stjuardesom Nicole Coste.
Albert je te godine službeno priznao svog sina, iako je monaški zakon o nasljeđivanju značio da Alexandre (koji sada koristi prezime Grimaldi-Coste) nije bio u redu za prijestolje. Sljedeće godine DNK testovi potvrdili su da Albert ima još jedno dijete, za koje se sada zna da je Jazmin Grace Grimaldi, čija je majka provela nekoliko godina pokušavajući od princa dobiti alimentaciju.
Godine 2021. žena poznata javnosti kao Mariza S iznijela je tvrdnje na talijanskom sudu da je i njezina kći, kći princa Alberta, što je prinčev odvjetnik u javnosti odbacio kao "prevaru", navodeći da su tužbe pred talijanskim sudovima potpuno neutemeljene.

Medijska nagađanja više se nisu mogla zaustaviti nakon što se ono što je prvotno bilo planirano kao kratko putovanje s Charleneine strane u Južnu Afriku u svibnju 2021. pretvorilo u to da je princeza provela više od šest mjeseci daleko od svoje obitelji.
Navodno je produljeni boravak bio uzrokovan stalnim problemom s uhom, nosom i grlom koji je spriječio Charlene da se kući vrati avionom. Međutim, čak i nakon što se tog studenog vratila u Monako, ostala je daleko od očiju javnosti, a nedugo nakon toga objavljeno je da će princeza ići na liječenje u psihijatrijsku ustanovu kako bi se nosila s "iscrpljenošću, emocionalnom i fizičkom". Naposljetku, prošlo je više od godinu dana prije nego što se vratila javnim dužnostima.

Premda su zajedno ljetovali na jahti, medijska nagađanja samo su rasplamsala glasine o razvodu, no anonimni izvor za njemački Bild je rekao da su oni u prijateljskom odnosu i da su sad samo ‘par za ceremonije‘.

Princezu Charlene od Monaca dugo krasi nadimak najtužnije princeze kojeg je stekla zahvaljujući fotografijama s njenog vjenčanja s princem Albertom, na kojima je Charlene, koja je navodno nekoliko puta pokušala pobjeći s vjenčanja, vidno rastresena i uplakana.
Princ Albert, jedini sin princa Rainiera III. i Grace Kelly, upoznao je južnoafričku olimpijsku plivačicu Charlene Wittstock početkom 2000-ih, no par je pričekao prije nego što je razmijenio zavjete u dvostrukoj građanskoj i vjerskoj ceremoniji. Iako nedvojbeno veličanstven, bio je to dan pokvaren glasinama i nagađanjima o stanju veze mladenke i mladoženje.

Princ Albert godinama je u javnosti poznat kao sinonim za skandal. Godine 2005., nedugo nakon stupanja na prijestolje, još jedna francuska publikacija otkrila je da Albert ima izvanbračnog 18-godišnjeg sina Alexandrea s bivšom stjuardesom Nicole Coste.
Albert je te godine službeno priznao svog sina, iako je monaški zakon o nasljeđivanju značio da Alexandre (koji sada koristi prezime Grimaldi-Coste) nije bio u redu za prijestolje. Sljedeće godine DNK testovi potvrdili su da Albert ima još jedno dijete, za koje se sada zna da je Jazmin Grace Grimaldi, čija je majka provela nekoliko godina pokušavajući od princa dobiti alimentaciju.

Medijska nagađanja više se nisu mogla zaustaviti nakon što se ono što je prvotno bilo planirano kao kratko putovanje s Charleneine strane u Južnu Afriku u svibnju 2021. pretvorilo u to da je princeza provela više od šest mjeseci daleko od svoje obitelji.
Navodno je produljeni boravak bio uzrokovan stalnim problemom s uhom, nosom i grlom koji je spriječio Charlene da se kući vrati avionom. Međutim, čak i nakon što se tog studenog vratila u Monako, ostala je daleko od očiju javnosti, a nedugo nakon toga objavljeno je da će princeza ići na liječenje u psihijatrijsku ustanovu kako bi se nosila s "iscrpljenošću, emocionalnom i fizičkom". Naposljetku, prošlo je više od godinu dana prije nego što se vratila javnim dužnostima.
Iako su i Albert i Charlene u to vrijeme bili glasni da u njihovom braku nema problema, postojale su brojne sugestije da bi temeljni uzrok njihove produžene fizičke razdvojenosti mogli biti problemi u vezi, a ne sveobuhvatna zdravstvena briga.

Premda su zajedno ljetovali na jahti, medijska nagađanja samo su rasplamsala glasine o razvodu, no anonimni izvor za njemački Bild je rekao da su oni u prijateljskom odnosu i da su sad samo ‘par za ceremonije‘.
