Iz Ljubljane nam se javio Klavdij Kogoj koji je loveći uz Lastovo uspio uloviti nesvakidašnji primjerak pauka. Ne, nije u pitanju ni dužina, ni težina već boja. Evo što nam je Klavdij rekao o tom svom neobičnom ulovu:

- Lovili smo uz Lastovo odmah preko puta mjesta Brno. Dubina je bila nekih 70 metara. Budući da je teren bio vrlo izgledan za uspjeh odlučili smo potopiti parangal. Sve je odrađeno rutinski, bez nekih velikih očekivanja. Glavni je cilj bio osigurati dobru gradeladu za obitelj i ekipu – priča nam Klavdij.

- I tako smo u jednom trenutku odlučili podići utopljeni parangal. Dizali smo ga moj sin i ja i bilo je nešto ribe na njemu. Ništa spektakularno, ali sasvim dota za naše potrebe. A onda se iz dubine pojavila narančasta sjenka. Budući da nismo znali o kakvoj je ribi riječ, bili smo vrlo oprezni. Nazvali smo prijatelja na Lastovu i opisali mu ribu, na što je on rekao da je u pitanju najvjerojatnije kokot i da ga bacimo natrag u more.

Bio je teži od kila

No nismo ga poslušali. Ribu smo odlučili zadržati i to ponajprije zato jer je bila teža od kilograma, točnije 1155 grama.

A kad smo došli na suho onda smo zajednički zaključili da ta riba nije ipak nikakav kokot, već pauk, samo što je bio neobično obojan, narančasto žut – ispričao nam je Klavdij Kogoj.

A ta neobična narančasto žuta boja ovog pauka mrkulja (Trachinus radiatus Cuvier, 1829) je posljedica rijetke genetske mutacije poznate pod nazivom ksantokromizam ili ksantizam.

Ova se pojava često povezuje s nedostatkom uobičajene pigmentacije i njenom zamjenom neobično visoke razine žute pigmentacije. Uzrok je obično genetski, ali ponekad može biti povezan i s ishranom.

Ksantokromizam je zabilježen i među ivercima, jeguljama, listovima, ljuskavkama i kirnjama kao i među brojnim ribljim vrstama iz drugih svjetskih mora i slatkih voda.

Ksantokromizam je zabilježen kod mnogih kopnenih životinjskih vrsta pri čemu je relativno čest kod ptica, ali i kod kukaca, posebno iz roda Hymenoptera.

Zanimljivo je da su u biologiji zabilježeni i slučajevi aksantizma koji je pojava potpuno suprotna ksantokromizmu, a koja se manifestira kao nedostatak ili potpuni nedostatak žutog pigmenta.

Iz Ljubljane nam se javio Klavdij Kogoj koji je loveći uz Lastovo uspio uloviti nesvakidašnji primjerak pauka. Ne, nije u pitanju ni dužina, ni težina već boja. Evo što nam je Klavdij rekao o tom svom neobičnom ulovu:

- Lovili smo uz Lastovo odmah preko puta mjesta Brno. Dubina je bila nekih 70 metara. Budući da je teren bio vrlo izgledan za uspjeh odlučili smo potopiti parangal. Sve je odrađeno rutinski, bez nekih velikih očekivanja. Glavni je cilj bio osigurati dobru gradeladu za obitelj i ekipu – priča nam Klavdij.

- I tako smo u jednom trenutku odlučili podići utopljeni parangal. Dizali smo ga moj sin i ja i bilo je nešto ribe na njemu. Ništa spektakularno, ali sasvim dota za naše potrebe. A onda se iz dubine pojavila narančasta sjenka. Budući da nismo znali o kakvoj je ribi riječ, bili smo vrlo oprezni. Nazvali smo prijatelja na Lastovu i opisali mu ribu, na što je on rekao da je u pitanju najvjerojatnije kokot i da ga bacimo natrag u more.

Bio je teži od kila

No nismo ga poslušali. Ribu smo odlučili zadržati i to ponajprije zato jer je bila teža od kilograma, točnije 1155 grama.

A kad smo došli na suho onda smo zajednički zaključili da ta riba nije ipak nikakav kokot, već pauk, samo što je bio neobično obojan, narančasto žut – ispričao nam je Klavdij Kogoj.

A ta neobična narančasto žuta boja ovog pauka mrkulja (Trachinus radiatus Cuvier, 1829) je posljedica rijetke genetske mutacije poznate pod nazivom ksantokromizam ili ksantizam.

Ova se pojava često povezuje s nedostatkom uobičajene pigmentacije i njenom zamjenom neobično visoke razine žute pigmentacije. Uzrok je obično genetski, ali ponekad može biti povezan i s ishranom.

Ksantokromizam je zabilježen i među ivercima, jeguljama, listovima, ljuskavkama i kirnjama kao i među brojnim ribljim vrstama iz drugih svjetskih mora i slatkih voda.

Ksantokromizam je zabilježen kod mnogih kopnenih životinjskih vrsta pri čemu je relativno čest kod ptica, ali i kod kukaca, posebno iz roda Hymenoptera.

Zanimljivo je da su u biologiji zabilježeni i slučajevi aksantizma koji je pojava potpuno suprotna ksantokromizmu, a koja se manifestira kao nedostatak ili potpuni nedostatak žutog pigmenta.
