Sjevernoatlanski pravi kitovi - jedna od najrjeđih i najugroženijih vrsta kitova na svijetu ispred obala Nove Engleske pod dodatnom je ugrozom zbog projekta plutajućih vjetroturbina, javlja portal gcaptain.com.

Na ovo je upozorio jedan visoki dužnosnik američke Nacionalne agencije za istraživanje oceana i atmosfere (NOAA), ukazujući na najmanje 10 vjetroturbina koje bi trebale biti postavljene na tom dijelu u narednim godinama.

- Dodatna buka, promet plovila i modifikacije staništa zbog razvoja pučinskog vjetra vjerojatno će izazvati dodatni stres koji bi mogao rezultirati dodatnim štetnim posljedicama na populaciju vrste koja već doživljava brzi pad brojnosti - stoji u upozorenju.

Preostalo je manje od 350 sjevernoatlantskih kitova, što je pad s rekordnih 478 u 2011. godini. Ugroženi morski sisavci već su pod kroničnim stresom zbog ograničene hrane, zapetljanja u ribarskim mrežama, sudara plovila i buke.

Vjetroturbine mogu poremetiti gustu koncentraciju zooplanktona o kojem kitovi ovise za prehranu, potencijalno ih prisiljavajući da troše više energije i preuzimaju više rizika tražeći hranu drugdje.

Sjevernoatlanski pravi kitovi - jedna od najrjeđih i najugroženijih vrsta kitova na svijetu ispred obala Nove Engleske pod dodatnom je ugrozom zbog projekta plutajućih vjetroturbina, javlja portal gcaptain.com.

Na ovo je upozorio jedan visoki dužnosnik američke Nacionalne agencije za istraživanje oceana i atmosfere (NOAA), ukazujući na najmanje 10 vjetroturbina koje bi trebale biti postavljene na tom dijelu u narednim godinama.

- Dodatna buka, promet plovila i modifikacije staništa zbog razvoja pučinskog vjetra vjerojatno će izazvati dodatni stres koji bi mogao rezultirati dodatnim štetnim posljedicama na populaciju vrste koja već doživljava brzi pad brojnosti - stoji u upozorenju.

Preostalo je manje od 350 sjevernoatlantskih kitova, što je pad s rekordnih 478 u 2011. godini. Ugroženi morski sisavci već su pod kroničnim stresom zbog ograničene hrane, zapetljanja u ribarskim mrežama, sudara plovila i buke.

Vjetroturbine mogu poremetiti gustu koncentraciju zooplanktona o kojem kitovi ovise za prehranu, potencijalno ih prisiljavajući da troše više energije i preuzimaju više rizika tražeći hranu drugdje.

Sjevernoatlanski pravi kitovi - jedna od najrjeđih i najugroženijih vrsta kitova na svijetu ispred obala Nove Engleske pod dodatnom je ugrozom zbog projekta plutajućih vjetroturbina, javlja portal gcaptain.com.

Na ovo je upozorio jedan visoki dužnosnik američke Nacionalne agencije za istraživanje oceana i atmosfere (NOAA), ukazujući na najmanje 10 vjetroturbina koje bi trebale biti postavljene na tom dijelu u narednim godinama.

- Dodatna buka, promet plovila i modifikacije staništa zbog razvoja pučinskog vjetra vjerojatno će izazvati dodatni stres koji bi mogao rezultirati dodatnim štetnim posljedicama na populaciju vrste koja već doživljava brzi pad brojnosti - stoji u upozorenju.

Preostalo je manje od 350 sjevernoatlantskih kitova, što je pad s rekordnih 478 u 2011. godini. Ugroženi morski sisavci već su pod kroničnim stresom zbog ograničene hrane, zapetljanja u ribarskim mrežama, sudara plovila i buke.

Vjetroturbine mogu poremetiti gustu koncentraciju zooplanktona o kojem kitovi ovise za prehranu, potencijalno ih prisiljavajući da troše više energije i preuzimaju više rizika tražeći hranu drugdje.
