U sklopu projekta Potopljena baština: Istraživanje, zaštita i valorizacija po(d)morske baštine Čiova, u suradnji Muzeja grada Trogira i Odjela za arheologiju Sveučilišta u Zadru, u tijeku su terenski pregledi podmorja na više lokacija na Čiovu. Projekt financiraju Općina Okrug, ujedno i projektni partner, te Splitsko-dalmatinska županija, u okviru Programa razvoja, zaštite i valorizacije pomorske baštine na području Splitsko – dalmatinske županije i projekta “Pomorsko je dobro”.

Istraživački tim pod vodstvom dr. sc. Mate Parice sa Sveučilišta u Zadru okupio je stručnjake Muzeja grada Kaštela i tvrtke Kaukal d.o.o., s bogatim iskustvom na istraživanju podvodne arheološke baštine, koji pregledavaju šire područje uvala Duga i Široka s otokom Fumija na južnoj te uvalu Racetinovac na sjevernoj strani zapadnog dijela otoka Čiova, s ciljem utvrđivanja potencijala za daljnja istraživanja te zaštite slabo poznate otočke podmorske baštine.

“Najzanimljiviji nalazi za sada su pronađeni u uvali Racetinovac, gdje je potvrđeno da se na širem prostoru uvale nalaze potopljene konstrukcije gospodarskog objekta iz antičkog razdoblja – najvjerojatnije antičke solane. No, za precizno utvrđivanje namjene, trebat će pričekati rezultate opširnijih iskopavanja. Uz ostatke gospodarskih konstrukcija, zabilježeni su i ostatci kamenih nasipa antičkog razdoblja koji su povezani s intenzivnom aktivnosti u uvali u tome razdoblju i kopnenim gospodarsko-rezidencijalnim kompleksom antičke vile smještenim uz njezinu obalu. Od nalaza je zabilježena znatna količina antičke keramike, posebice dijelovi amfora i njihovi poklopci, ali i ostalih tipova keramičkog posuđa, među kojima se posebno izdvajaju ulomci velikih keramičkih posuda za skladištenje – tzv. dolia.

Među najzanimljivijim i najneočekivanijim nalazima je svakako nalaz kremenog oruđa – alatke koja bi mogla pripadati paleolitiku, ali precizniju vremensku pripadnost saznat ćemo nakon podrobnije analize artefakta.

Sam projekt se nastavlja na dugogodišnju međuinstitucijsku suradnju na zaštiti kopnene odnosno podmorske arheološke baštine prostora Kaštelanskog zaljeva, a ujedno je i prvi projekt Muzeja grada Trogira na zaštiti arheološke baštine Čiova i, nadamo se, početak sustavnih istraživanja i valorizacije otočke baštine.”, naglasila je voditeljica projekta, arheologinja Lujana Paraman, viša kustosica Muzeja grada Trogira.

U sklopu projekta Potopljena baština: Istraživanje, zaštita i valorizacija po(d)morske baštine Čiova, u suradnji Muzeja grada Trogira i Odjela za arheologiju Sveučilišta u Zadru, u tijeku su terenski pregledi podmorja na više lokacija na Čiovu. Projekt financiraju Općina Okrug, ujedno i projektni partner, te Splitsko-dalmatinska županija, u okviru Programa razvoja, zaštite i valorizacije pomorske baštine na području Splitsko – dalmatinske županije i projekta “Pomorsko je dobro”.

Istraživački tim pod vodstvom dr. sc. Mate Parice sa Sveučilišta u Zadru okupio je stručnjake Muzeja grada Kaštela i tvrtke Kaukal d.o.o., s bogatim iskustvom na istraživanju podvodne arheološke baštine, koji pregledavaju šire područje uvala Duga i Široka s otokom Fumija na južnoj te uvalu Racetinovac na sjevernoj strani zapadnog dijela otoka Čiova, s ciljem utvrđivanja potencijala za daljnja istraživanja te zaštite slabo poznate otočke podmorske baštine.

“Najzanimljiviji nalazi za sada su pronađeni u uvali Racetinovac, gdje je potvrđeno da se na širem prostoru uvale nalaze potopljene konstrukcije gospodarskog objekta iz antičkog razdoblja – najvjerojatnije antičke solane. No, za precizno utvrđivanje namjene, trebat će pričekati rezultate opširnijih iskopavanja. Uz ostatke gospodarskih konstrukcija, zabilježeni su i ostatci kamenih nasipa antičkog razdoblja koji su povezani s intenzivnom aktivnosti u uvali u tome razdoblju i kopnenim gospodarsko-rezidencijalnim kompleksom antičke vile smještenim uz njezinu obalu. Od nalaza je zabilježena znatna količina antičke keramike, posebice dijelovi amfora i njihovi poklopci, ali i ostalih tipova keramičkog posuđa, među kojima se posebno izdvajaju ulomci velikih keramičkih posuda za skladištenje – tzv. dolia.

Među najzanimljivijim i najneočekivanijim nalazima je svakako nalaz kremenog oruđa – alatke koja bi mogla pripadati paleolitiku, ali precizniju vremensku pripadnost saznat ćemo nakon podrobnije analize artefakta.

Sam projekt se nastavlja na dugogodišnju međuinstitucijsku suradnju na zaštiti kopnene odnosno podmorske arheološke baštine prostora Kaštelanskog zaljeva, a ujedno je i prvi projekt Muzeja grada Trogira na zaštiti arheološke baštine Čiova i, nadamo se, početak sustavnih istraživanja i valorizacije otočke baštine.”, naglasila je voditeljica projekta, arheologinja Lujana Paraman, viša kustosica Muzeja grada Trogira.
