Epidemiolozi Nastavnog zavoda za javno zdravstvo Primorsko-goranske županije u ovoj su godini zabilježili dva teška slučaja zaraze virusom srednjoeuropskog krpeljnog meningoencefalitisa, pri čemu je od posljedica bolesti jedna zaražena osoba preminula. Iako se u Hrvatskoj godišnje u prosjeku zabilježi oko 25 zaraza ovim virusom koji prenose krpelji na pojedinim žarišnim područjima, glavni županijski epidemiolog dr. Dobrica Rončević smatra da su aktualne brojke, s obzirom na to da se ovaj virus širi u razdoblju od proljeća do jeseni, znak upozorenja svima koji borave u prirodi, posebice u Gorskom kotaru koji se uz područje iznad rijeke Save smatra prirodnim žarištem ove zaraze na području Hrvatske, piše Novi list.

– Područje Gorskog kotara u našoj je županiji prirodno žarište ovog virusa. U proteklih 15 godina imali smo sporadične slučajeve zaraze virusom srednjoeuropskog krpeljnog meningoencefalitisa, no unatrag nekoliko godina takvi se slučajevi javljaju redovito u sezoni prijenosa virusa koja traje od proljeća do jeseni. Po tom pitanju rekordna je bila 2019. godina kada smo u PGŽ-u zabilježili deset slučajeva zaraze ovim virusom, ističe Rončević.

Moguć invaliditet

Za dvoje zaraženih u ovoj godini pretpostavlja se da su imali ugriz krpelja upravo u Gorskom kotaru, a kako upozorava Rončević, budući da inkubacija ovog virusa traje od jednog do dva tjedna često se događa da se zaraženi više ni sjećaju da su bili na mjestu koje se smatra žarištem širenja srednjoeuropskog krpeljnog meningoencefalitisa.

– Bolest je u početku nespecifična te prema svojim simptomima može imitirati niz drugih bolesti, a među njimu i COVID-19. Upravo iz tog razloga, zaražene osobe simptome često zanemaruju i ako se ne dogodi druga faza bolesti, koja nastupa četiri do šest dana nakon pojave prvih simptoma, ova je bolest blaga i često neprepoznata. Međutim, druga faza bolesti specifično je vezana uz simptome meningitisa i upale samog moždanog tkiva. Karakteriziraju je različiti neurološki ispadi, ali i zaostaci invaliditeta po preboljenju, a njezin ishod nekad je i smrtonosan. U zaštiti od ove bolesti vrijede opće preventivne mjere tijekom boravka na livadima i šumskim područjima, a to je duga odjeća, primjena repelenata i obavezno pregledavanje tijela nakon boravka u prirodi. Naime, što se ugriz krpelja ranije otkrije, to je manje vjerojatnost da će doći do prijenosa virusa krpeljevom slinom, objašnjava Rončević.

Područja iznad rijeke Save već se dugi niz godina smatraju žarištem prijenosa ovog virusa, dok je Gorski kotar to postao tek nedavno. Kako objašnjava Rončević, krpelji koji prenose ovaj virus šire se preko divljači te se smatra da su na goransko područje došli preko Kupe iz Slovenije koja je od ranije poznata kao njihovo žarište, a izvan Hrvatske to su još Austrija i Mađarska.

Epidemiolozi Nastavnog zavoda za javno zdravstvo Primorsko-goranske županije u ovoj su godini zabilježili dva teška slučaja zaraze virusom srednjoeuropskog krpeljnog meningoencefalitisa, pri čemu je od posljedica bolesti jedna zaražena osoba preminula. Iako se u Hrvatskoj godišnje u prosjeku zabilježi oko 25 zaraza ovim virusom koji prenose krpelji na pojedinim žarišnim područjima, glavni županijski epidemiolog dr. Dobrica Rončević smatra da su aktualne brojke, s obzirom na to da se ovaj virus širi u razdoblju od proljeća do jeseni, znak upozorenja svima koji borave u prirodi, posebice u Gorskom kotaru koji se uz područje iznad rijeke Save smatra prirodnim žarištem ove zaraze na području Hrvatske, piše Novi list.

– Područje Gorskog kotara u našoj je županiji prirodno žarište ovog virusa. U proteklih 15 godina imali smo sporadične slučajeve zaraze virusom srednjoeuropskog krpeljnog meningoencefalitisa, no unatrag nekoliko godina takvi se slučajevi javljaju redovito u sezoni prijenosa virusa koja traje od proljeća do jeseni. Po tom pitanju rekordna je bila 2019. godina kada smo u PGŽ-u zabilježili deset slučajeva zaraze ovim virusom, ističe Rončević.

Moguć invaliditet

Za dvoje zaraženih u ovoj godini pretpostavlja se da su imali ugriz krpelja upravo u Gorskom kotaru, a kako upozorava Rončević, budući da inkubacija ovog virusa traje od jednog do dva tjedna često se događa da se zaraženi više ni sjećaju da su bili na mjestu koje se smatra žarištem širenja srednjoeuropskog krpeljnog meningoencefalitisa.

– Bolest je u početku nespecifična te prema svojim simptomima može imitirati niz drugih bolesti, a među njimu i COVID-19. Upravo iz tog razloga, zaražene osobe simptome često zanemaruju i ako se ne dogodi druga faza bolesti, koja nastupa četiri do šest dana nakon pojave prvih simptoma, ova je bolest blaga i često neprepoznata. Međutim, druga faza bolesti specifično je vezana uz simptome meningitisa i upale samog moždanog tkiva. Karakteriziraju je različiti neurološki ispadi, ali i zaostaci invaliditeta po preboljenju, a njezin ishod nekad je i smrtonosan. U zaštiti od ove bolesti vrijede opće preventivne mjere tijekom boravka na livadima i šumskim područjima, a to je duga odjeća, primjena repelenata i obavezno pregledavanje tijela nakon boravka u prirodi. Naime, što se ugriz krpelja ranije otkrije, to je manje vjerojatnost da će doći do prijenosa virusa krpeljevom slinom, objašnjava Rončević.

Područja iznad rijeke Save već se dugi niz godina smatraju žarištem prijenosa ovog virusa, dok je Gorski kotar to postao tek nedavno. Kako objašnjava Rončević, krpelji koji prenose ovaj virus šire se preko divljači te se smatra da su na goransko područje došli preko Kupe iz Slovenije koja je od ranije poznata kao njihovo žarište, a izvan Hrvatske to su još Austrija i Mađarska.

Epidemiolozi Nastavnog zavoda za javno zdravstvo Primorsko-goranske županije u ovoj su godini zabilježili dva teška slučaja zaraze virusom srednjoeuropskog krpeljnog meningoencefalitisa, pri čemu je od posljedica bolesti jedna zaražena osoba preminula. Iako se u Hrvatskoj godišnje u prosjeku zabilježi oko 25 zaraza ovim virusom koji prenose krpelji na pojedinim žarišnim područjima, glavni županijski epidemiolog dr. Dobrica Rončević smatra da su aktualne brojke, s obzirom na to da se ovaj virus širi u razdoblju od proljeća do jeseni, znak upozorenja svima koji borave u prirodi, posebice u Gorskom kotaru koji se uz područje iznad rijeke Save smatra prirodnim žarištem ove zaraze na području Hrvatske, piše Novi list.
