Studija je otkrila i vezu između cjepiva tvrtke AstraZeneca i akutnog diseminiranog encefalomijelitisa te transverzalnog mijelitisa.

Grupa znanstvenika Global Vaccine Data Network otkrila je dvije nove, ali iznimno rijetke nuspojave koje izazivaju cjepiva protiv bolesti covid-19 - neurološki poremećaj i upalu leđne moždine. Nakon što su proučili bolničke kartone 99 milijuna ljudi iz Australije, Argentine, Kanade, Danske, Finske, Francuske, Novog Zelanda i Škotske, znanstvenici su otkrili i koliko su rijetke nuspojave za koje se već zna. U studiji o sigurnosti cjepiva koja je nastala na temelju tih spoznaja stoji da dobrih strana cjepiva protiv covida-19 ima znatno više nego minusa, piše The Guardian.

Znanstvenici su do novih saznanja o cjepivima protiv covida došli tako što su proučili depersonalizirane elektroničke bolničke kartone osoba koje su primile cjepiva farmaceutskih tvrtki Pfizer, Moderna i AstraZeneca. Učestalost pojavljivanja 13 bolesti mozga, krvožilnog sustava i srca od kojih su oboljeli cijepljeni usporedili su učestalošću pojavljivanja tih bolesti prije pandemije koronavirusa SARS-CoV-2.

Studija koja je u petak objavljena u časopisu Vaccine (hrv. cjepivo), inače najveća u povijesti na temu sigurnosti cjepiva, potvrdila je povezanost mRNA cjepiva tvrtki Pfizer i Moderne te rijetkih nuspojava miokarditisa (upala srčanog mišića) i perikarditisa (upala rastezljive dvoslojne vrećice koja obavija srce). Uz to, potvrdila je povezanost cjepiva tvrtke AstraZeneca i rijetkih nuspojava Guillain-Barréov sindroma (neurološki poremećaj u kojemu imunološki sustav oštećuje živčane stanice vlastitog organizma) te tromboze venskih sinusa (životno ugrožavajuća cerebrovaskularna bolest), prenosi Jutarnji list.

Međutim, studija je otkrila i vezu između cjepiva tvrtke AstraZeneca i rijetke nuspojave akutnog diseminiranog encefalomijelitisa (upalna demijelinizirajuća bolest središnjeg živčanog sustava). Profesor Jim Buttery, sudirektor grupe znanstvenika Global Vaccine Data Network, rekao je da je to otkriće njega i njegove suradnike natjeralo da provedu drugo istraživanje kako bi te podatke potvrdili. Nakon što su proučili bolničke kartone 6,8 milijuna Australaca koji su primili AstraZenecino cjepivo, znanstvenici su potvrdili da je to cjepivo znalo izazvati akutni diseminirani encefalomijelitis, ali i još jednu rijetku nuspojavu, transverzalni mijelitis, upalu leđne moždine.  Druga australska studija pokazala je da učestalost oboljenja od akutnog diseminiranog encefalomijelitisa iznosi 0,78 oboljenja na milijun doza cjepiva, a da učestalost oboljenja od transverzalnog mijelitisa iznosi 1,82 oboljenja na milijun doza. Buttery je rekao da znanstvenici za rijetke nuspojave nisu doznali sve dok cjepivo nisu primili milijuni ljudi. "Niti jedno kliničko ispitivanje ne može imati toliko sudionika koji bi nam omogućili da odgovorimo na ta pitanja. Na njih smo mogli odgovore dati tek nakon što se cjepivo počelo koristiti", rekao je Buttery.

Buttery je rekao i da rizik od miokarditisa raste ako se osobe nisu cijepile protiv covida-19. Dodao je da su akutni diseminirani encefalomijelitis i transverzalni mijelitis ozbiljne bolesti, ali da se oboljeli od njih uglavnom oporave.

Studija je otkrila i vezu između cjepiva tvrtke AstraZeneca i akutnog diseminiranog encefalomijelitisa te transverzalnog mijelitisa.

Grupa znanstvenika Global Vaccine Data Network otkrila je dvije nove, ali iznimno rijetke nuspojave koje izazivaju cjepiva protiv bolesti covid-19 - neurološki poremećaj i upalu leđne moždine. Nakon što su proučili bolničke kartone 99 milijuna ljudi iz Australije, Argentine, Kanade, Danske, Finske, Francuske, Novog Zelanda i Škotske, znanstvenici su otkrili i koliko su rijetke nuspojave za koje se već zna. U studiji o sigurnosti cjepiva koja je nastala na temelju tih spoznaja stoji da dobrih strana cjepiva protiv covida-19 ima znatno više nego minusa, piše The Guardian.

Znanstvenici su do novih saznanja o cjepivima protiv covida došli tako što su proučili depersonalizirane elektroničke bolničke kartone osoba koje su primile cjepiva farmaceutskih tvrtki Pfizer, Moderna i AstraZeneca. Učestalost pojavljivanja 13 bolesti mozga, krvožilnog sustava i srca od kojih su oboljeli cijepljeni usporedili su učestalošću pojavljivanja tih bolesti prije pandemije koronavirusa SARS-CoV-2.

Studija koja je u petak objavljena u časopisu Vaccine (hrv. cjepivo), inače najveća u povijesti na temu sigurnosti cjepiva, potvrdila je povezanost mRNA cjepiva tvrtki Pfizer i Moderne te rijetkih nuspojava miokarditisa (upala srčanog mišića) i perikarditisa (upala rastezljive dvoslojne vrećice koja obavija srce). Uz to, potvrdila je povezanost cjepiva tvrtke AstraZeneca i rijetkih nuspojava Guillain-Barréov sindroma (neurološki poremećaj u kojemu imunološki sustav oštećuje živčane stanice vlastitog organizma) te tromboze venskih sinusa (životno ugrožavajuća cerebrovaskularna bolest), prenosi Jutarnji list.

Međutim, studija je otkrila i vezu između cjepiva tvrtke AstraZeneca i rijetke nuspojave akutnog diseminiranog encefalomijelitisa (upalna demijelinizirajuća bolest središnjeg živčanog sustava). Profesor Jim Buttery, sudirektor grupe znanstvenika Global Vaccine Data Network, rekao je da je to otkriće njega i njegove suradnike natjeralo da provedu drugo istraživanje kako bi te podatke potvrdili. Nakon što su proučili bolničke kartone 6,8 milijuna Australaca koji su primili AstraZenecino cjepivo, znanstvenici su potvrdili da je to cjepivo znalo izazvati akutni diseminirani encefalomijelitis, ali i još jednu rijetku nuspojavu, transverzalni mijelitis, upalu leđne moždine.  Druga australska studija pokazala je da učestalost oboljenja od akutnog diseminiranog encefalomijelitisa iznosi 0,78 oboljenja na milijun doza cjepiva, a da učestalost oboljenja od transverzalnog mijelitisa iznosi 1,82 oboljenja na milijun doza. Buttery je rekao da znanstvenici za rijetke nuspojave nisu doznali sve dok cjepivo nisu primili milijuni ljudi. "Niti jedno kliničko ispitivanje ne može imati toliko sudionika koji bi nam omogućili da odgovorimo na ta pitanja. Na njih smo mogli odgovore dati tek nakon što se cjepivo počelo koristiti", rekao je Buttery.

Buttery je rekao i da rizik od miokarditisa raste ako se osobe nisu cijepile protiv covida-19. Dodao je da su akutni diseminirani encefalomijelitis i transverzalni mijelitis ozbiljne bolesti, ali da se oboljeli od njih uglavnom oporave.
