Speleološka ekspedicija u 1226 metara duboku jamu "Nedam" u Nacionalnom parku Sjeverni Velebit, počela je u petak snošenjem ronilačke opreme na dno jame, priopćili su organizatori.
Dvije speleološke ekipe s osam speleologa upravo se spuštaju prema dnu jame Nedam s ronilačkom opremom, a za njima će i ostali od 52 člana ekspedicije. Cilj je ronjenje sifon na dubini 1194 metara i nastavak istraživanja kroz kanale, koje se nastavlja do kraja idućeg tjedna, rečeno je.
Organizatori su Speleološki odsjek Planinarskog društva Sveučilišta Velebit i Komisija za speleologiju Hrvatskog planinarskog saveza a voditeljica ekspedicije je Valentina Plemenčić.
Uz speleološke aktivnosti planirana su znanstvena istraživanja, čija je središnja tema praćenje klimatskih promjena u jamama sa stalnim snijegom i ledom. U više jama utvrđeno je povećanje količine leda u odnosu na prošlu godinu, što se može povezati s vrlo hladnom zimom tijekom kojem se na ulazima u neke od jama temperatura više puta spuštala ispod 20 Celzijevih stupnjeva, kazao je speleolog i fizičar s PMF-a Dalibor Paar i dodao da će se interpretacija navedenih lokalnih pojava izvesti u suradnji sa stručnjacima Centra za klimatološka istraživanja zagrebačkog PMF-a.
U Hrvatskoj postoje četiri jame dublje od 1000 metara, sve se nalaze na sjevernom Velebitu.
Tijekom ranijih istraživanja u jamskom sustavu Lukina jama – Trojama ustanovljena je prisutnost leda do dubine od 560 m ispod razine današnjih ulaza, što je trenutačno lokacija s najdublje zabilježenim ledom u speleološkim objektima na svijetu.
S ciljem utvrđivanja gornje starosti leda izvedeno je datiranje ostataka drveta čije su analize pokazale gornju starost od oko 400 godina.
Na manjim dubinama u posljednjih 20 godina u jamama sjevernog Velebita zabilježene su značajne promjene u količinama ledenih naslaga, dok je na većim dubinama zabilježena izuzetna stabilnost mikroklimatskih uvjeta.
Datiranje siga na većim dubinama u Lukinoj jami, na 945 metara, pokazalo je starost do 50 tisuća godina.
Do 2020. godinom na području Velebita otkriveno je više od 600 speleoloških objekata, od kojih prevladavaju jame. Gustoća speleoloških objekata, velike duljine vertikala, podzemni sifoni i jezera te endemična špiljska fauna to su područje doveli u sam vrh svjetske krške morfologije, a neke među njima prema svojim morfološkim i mikroklimatskim karakteristikama uvrštene su među najznačajnije speleološke objekte svijeta, navodi se na stranicama NP Sjeverni Velebit.

Speleološka ekspedicija u 1226 metara duboku jamu "Nedam" u Nacionalnom parku Sjeverni Velebit, počela je u petak snošenjem ronilačke opreme na dno jame, priopćili su organizatori.
Dvije speleološke ekipe s osam speleologa upravo se spuštaju prema dnu jame Nedam s ronilačkom opremom, a za njima će i ostali od 52 člana ekspedicije. Cilj je ronjenje sifon na dubini 1194 metara i nastavak istraživanja kroz kanale, koje se nastavlja do kraja idućeg tjedna, rečeno je.
Organizatori su Speleološki odsjek Planinarskog društva Sveučilišta Velebit i Komisija za speleologiju Hrvatskog planinarskog saveza a voditeljica ekspedicije je Valentina Plemenčić.
Uz speleološke aktivnosti planirana su znanstvena istraživanja, čija je središnja tema praćenje klimatskih promjena u jamama sa stalnim snijegom i ledom. U više jama utvrđeno je povećanje količine leda u odnosu na prošlu godinu, što se može povezati s vrlo hladnom zimom tijekom kojem se na ulazima u neke od jama temperatura više puta spuštala ispod 20 Celzijevih stupnjeva, kazao je speleolog i fizičar s PMF-a Dalibor Paar i dodao da će se interpretacija navedenih lokalnih pojava izvesti u suradnji sa stručnjacima Centra za klimatološka istraživanja zagrebačkog PMF-a.
U Hrvatskoj postoje četiri jame dublje od 1000 metara, sve se nalaze na sjevernom Velebitu.
Tijekom ranijih istraživanja u jamskom sustavu Lukina jama – Trojama ustanovljena je prisutnost leda do dubine od 560 m ispod razine današnjih ulaza, što je trenutačno lokacija s najdublje zabilježenim ledom u speleološkim objektima na svijetu.
S ciljem utvrđivanja gornje starosti leda izvedeno je datiranje ostataka drveta čije su analize pokazale gornju starost od oko 400 godina.
Na manjim dubinama u posljednjih 20 godina u jamama sjevernog Velebita zabilježene su značajne promjene u količinama ledenih naslaga, dok je na većim dubinama zabilježena izuzetna stabilnost mikroklimatskih uvjeta.
Datiranje siga na većim dubinama u Lukinoj jami, na 945 metara, pokazalo je starost do 50 tisuća godina.
Do 2020. godinom na području Velebita otkriveno je više od 600 speleoloških objekata, od kojih prevladavaju jame. Gustoća speleoloških objekata, velike duljine vertikala, podzemni sifoni i jezera te endemična špiljska fauna to su područje doveli u sam vrh svjetske krške morfologije, a neke među njima prema svojim morfološkim i mikroklimatskim karakteristikama uvrštene su među najznačajnije speleološke objekte svijeta, navodi se na stranicama NP Sjeverni Velebit.
