Zbog svojih crvenkastih do smećkastih mrlja mnogima je najljepša hrvatska zmija. Obitava uglavnom u krškom dijelu Hrvatske i na otocima, a zove se Crvenkrpica. 

Jednu takvu Crvenkrpicu na Dugom otoku pronašao je član grupe "I Love Dugi Otok" na Facebooku koji je o tome snimio i kratki video.

Dok mu se zmija obavija oko ruke kao narukvica, on za one koji ne znaju priča o svojstvima ove najljepše hrvatske zmije.

Crvenkrpica nije otrovnica, uglavnom se može zateći na zemlji iako je dobra penjačica. Nije agresivna, ali ako ju se ulovi može ugristi. No njen je ugriz bezopasan za čovjeka. Kad je u opasnosti maše i trese svojim repom. 

Crvenkrpica (Zamenis situla) može narasti do otprilike jednog metra.  Oči su crvenkaste s okruglim crnim zjenicama, a karakteristična je po crvenkastim i smećkastim mrljama tamnih obruba koje podsjećaju na leopardov uzorak zbog čega je njezin engleski naziv (the leopard snake). 

Sklonija je ka sunčanim kamenitim staništima, suhozidima, ruševinama, kamenjarima s makijom, rubovima cesta i puteva, rubovima polja te se često može naći kraj potoka, rijeka i bunara. Nekad ju se može naći i blizu ljudskih naselja, vrtova, vinograda, maslinika, groblja te kuća u koje ponekad zađe u potrazi za hranom, vodom ili zaklonom od ljetne vrućine.

Hrani se gotovo isključivo malim sisavcima poput miševa i rovki, a mladunci jedu guštere. Plijen savladava davljenjem. Pari se u travnju i svibnju te nakon tri mjeseca ženka liježe 3-5 jaja iz kojih se izlegu mladunci koji sazru nakon tri godine. Crvenkrpica može doživjeti starost do 25 godina u zatočeništvu.

Zbog svojih crvenkastih do smećkastih mrlja mnogima je najljepša hrvatska zmija. Obitava uglavnom u krškom dijelu Hrvatske i na otocima, a zove se Crvenkrpica. 

Jednu takvu Crvenkrpicu na Dugom otoku pronašao je član grupe "I Love Dugi Otok" na Facebooku koji je o tome snimio i kratki video.

Dok mu se zmija obavija oko ruke kao narukvica, on za one koji ne znaju priča o svojstvima ove najljepše hrvatske zmije.

Crvenkrpica nije otrovnica, uglavnom se može zateći na zemlji iako je dobra penjačica. Nije agresivna, ali ako ju se ulovi može ugristi. No njen je ugriz bezopasan za čovjeka. Kad je u opasnosti maše i trese svojim repom. 

Crvenkrpica (Zamenis situla) može narasti do otprilike jednog metra.  Oči su crvenkaste s okruglim crnim zjenicama, a karakteristična je po crvenkastim i smećkastim mrljama tamnih obruba koje podsjećaju na leopardov uzorak zbog čega je njezin engleski naziv (the leopard snake). 

Sklonija je ka sunčanim kamenitim staništima, suhozidima, ruševinama, kamenjarima s makijom, rubovima cesta i puteva, rubovima polja te se često može naći kraj potoka, rijeka i bunara. Nekad ju se može naći i blizu ljudskih naselja, vrtova, vinograda, maslinika, groblja te kuća u koje ponekad zađe u potrazi za hranom, vodom ili zaklonom od ljetne vrućine.

Hrani se gotovo isključivo malim sisavcima poput miševa i rovki, a mladunci jedu guštere. Plijen savladava davljenjem. Pari se u travnju i svibnju te nakon tri mjeseca ženka liježe 3-5 jaja iz kojih se izlegu mladunci koji sazru nakon tri godine. Crvenkrpica može doživjeti starost do 25 godina u zatočeništvu.

Zovu je najljepšom hrvatskom zmijom, neke podsjeća i na leoparda, ali mnogi ne znaju ni kako se zove. Ovu su našli na Dugom otoku...

Zbog svojih crvenkastih do smećkastih mrlja mnogima je najljepša hrvatska zmija. Obitava uglavnom u krškom dijelu Hrvatske i na otocima, a zove se Crvenkrpica. 

Jednu takvu Crvenkrpicu na Dugom otoku pronašao je član grupe "I Love Dugi Otok" na Facebooku koji je o tome snimio i kratki video.

Dok mu se zmija obavija oko ruke kao narukvica, on za one koji ne znaju priča o svojstvima ove najljepše hrvatske zmije.

Crvenkrpica nije otrovnica, uglavnom se može zateći na zemlji iako je dobra penjačica. Nije agresivna, ali ako ju se ulovi može ugristi. No njen je ugriz bezopasan za čovjeka. Kad je u opasnosti maše i trese svojim repom. 

Crvenkrpica (Zamenis situla) može narasti do otprilike jednog metra.  Oči su crvenkaste s okruglim crnim zjenicama, a karakteristična je po crvenkastim i smećkastim mrljama tamnih obruba koje podsjećaju na leopardov uzorak zbog čega je njezin engleski naziv (the leopard snake). 

Sklonija je ka sunčanim kamenitim staništima, suhozidima, ruševinama, kamenjarima s makijom, rubovima cesta i puteva, rubovima polja te se često može naći kraj potoka, rijeka i bunara. Nekad ju se može naći i blizu ljudskih naselja, vrtova, vinograda, maslinika, groblja te kuća u koje ponekad zađe u potrazi za hranom, vodom ili zaklonom od ljetne vrućine.

Hrani se gotovo isključivo malim sisavcima poput miševa i rovki, a mladunci jedu guštere. Plijen savladava davljenjem. Pari se u travnju i svibnju te nakon tri mjeseca ženka liježe 3-5 jaja iz kojih se izlegu mladunci koji sazru nakon tri godine. Crvenkrpica može doživjeti starost do 25 godina u zatočeništvu.
