Preporuke za čitanje dao nam je Ante Tomić, pisac čije knjige (i kolumne) rado čitamo. Tomić nam je preporučio tri aktualna naslova, među kojima je jedan na kojeg je naletio sasvim slučajno, gledajući seriju kojom se i sami zabavljamo posljednjih večeri, te nam je jezgrovito objasnio zašto bismo ih trebali potražiti.

Amos Oz: Pozdrav fanaticima

Kad se osjetite izgubljeno i strano u u svijetu u kojemu je jedan muslimanski mladić otkinuo glavu francuskom učitelju, a drugi pucao po bečkim prolaznicima, uzmite čitati Oza. Živeći osamdeset godina u Jeruzalemu on je o fanaticima, i svojim i tuđim, naučio sve što se o tome može znati.

Ako ste umorni od vjernika i njihovih uzvišenih istina koje agresivno izvikuju na uglovima, ne dajući da od njih nitko drugi dođe do glasa, uzmite Vonneguta, ateista, koji o našoj bijednoj vrsti i našim glupim životima piše s neodoljivom mješavinom sažaljenja i duhovitosti.

Prije nekoliko dana dogodilo mi se nešto čudno. Bilo je jedan iza ponoći, gledao sam Netflix. U prvoj epizodi serije “Queen’s Gambit” učiteljica đacima čita pjesmu o nekome tko “ne maše, već se utapa”, a  mene su tako šokirali stihovi, istovremeno i šašavi i mračni, da sam prekinuo gledanje i krenuo guglati. U idućih sat i pol na internetu sam našao dvadesetak, trideset pjesama dotad mi nepoznate engleske pjesnikinje i sve je u njima bilo tako točno da sam, napokon, oko tri ujutro na Amazonu naručio knjigu izabranih pjesama Stevie Smith.

Preporuke za čitanje dao nam je Ante Tomić, pisac čije knjige (i kolumne) rado čitamo. Tomić nam je preporučio tri aktualna naslova, među kojima je jedan na kojeg je naletio sasvim slučajno, gledajući seriju kojom se i sami zabavljamo posljednjih večeri, te nam je jezgrovito objasnio zašto bismo ih trebali potražiti.

Kad se osjetite izgubljeno i strano u u svijetu u kojemu je jedan muslimanski mladić otkinuo glavu francuskom učitelju, a drugi pucao po bečkim prolaznicima, uzmite čitati Oza. Živeći osamdeset godina u Jeruzalemu on je o fanaticima, i svojim i tuđim, naučio sve što se o tome može znati.

Stevie Smith: A Selection (edited by Hermione Lee)

Prije nekoliko dana dogodilo mi se nešto čudno. Bilo je jedan iza ponoći, gledao sam Netflix. U prvoj epizodi serije “Queen’s Gambit” učiteljica đacima čita pjesmu o nekome tko “ne maše, već se utapa”, a  mene su tako šokirali stihovi, istovremeno i šašavi i mračni, da sam prekinuo gledanje i krenuo guglati. U idućih sat i pol na internetu sam našao dvadesetak, trideset pjesama dotad mi nepoznate engleske pjesnikinje i sve je u njima bilo tako točno da sam, napokon, oko tri ujutro na Amazonu naručio knjigu izabranih pjesama Stevie Smith.

Preporuke za čitanje dao nam je Ante Tomić, pisac čije knjige (i kolumne) rado čitamo. Tomić nam je preporučio tri aktualna naslova, među kojima je jedan na kojeg je naletio sasvim slučajno, gledajući seriju kojom se i sami zabavljamo posljednjih večeri, te nam je jezgrovito objasnio zašto bismo ih trebali potražiti.

Amos Oz: Pozdrav fanaticima

Kad se osjetite izgubljeno i strano u u svijetu u kojemu je jedan muslimanski mladić otkinuo glavu francuskom učitelju, a drugi pucao po bečkim prolaznicima, uzmite čitati Oza. Živeći osamdeset godina u Jeruzalemu on je o fanaticima, i svojim i tuđim, naučio sve što se o tome može znati.

Kurt Vonnegut: Galapagos

Ako ste umorni od vjernika i njihovih uzvišenih istina koje agresivno izvikuju na uglovima, ne dajući da od njih nitko drugi dođe do glasa, uzmite Vonneguta, ateista, koji o našoj bijednoj vrsti i našim glupim životima piše s neodoljivom mješavinom sažaljenja i duhovitosti.

Stevie Smith: A Selection (edited by Hermione Lee)

Prije nekoliko dana dogodilo mi se nešto čudno. Bilo je jedan iza ponoći, gledao sam Netflix. U prvoj epizodi serije “Queen’s Gambit” učiteljica đacima čita pjesmu o nekome tko “ne maše, već se utapa”, a  mene su tako šokirali stihovi, istovremeno i šašavi i mračni, da sam prekinuo gledanje i krenuo guglati. U idućih sat i pol na internetu sam našao dvadesetak, trideset pjesama dotad mi nepoznate engleske pjesnikinje i sve je u njima bilo tako točno da sam, napokon, oko tri ujutro na Amazonu naručio knjigu izabranih pjesama Stevie Smith.
