Treba li svijetu nova ekranizacija dva desetljeća starog bestselera Audrey Niffenegger “Žena vremenskog putnika” nakon filma iz 2009. godine? Realno, ne treba.

”The Time Traveler’s Wife” je bio sasvim solidan romantični SF s Ericom Banom i Rachel McAdams u ulogama vremenskog putnika i njegove žene koja ga čeka da se vrati iz prošlosti i budućnosti.

Međutim, kako televizija posljednjih godina često radi nove verzije filmova ili već filmovanih bestselera, a možda i zato da streaming servis HBO Max ima svog serijskog “time travel” aduta za natjecanje s Netflixovom “Babuškom 2”, dobili smo aktualnu “Ženu vremenskog putnika”.

Očekivanja nisu bila visoka, ali nakon dobivenog uvida u svih šest epizoda serije, koja počinje 16. svibnja na HBO Maxu u jednotjednom ritmu prikazivanja, možemo reći da televizijska inačica “The Time Traveler’s Wife” nije uopće loša, dapače.

Zasluga je to kreatora serije Stevena Moffata (“Sherlock”) koji se iskalio na tematici putovanja kroz vrijeme na kultnom komadu SF televizije “Doktor Who”, a adaptirao je “Ženu vremenskog putnika” znatno spretnije u odnosu na nes(p)retnog “Drakulu”.

Moffat je pouzdanog suradnika imao u redatelju Davidu Nutteru (radio na “Igri prijestolja”,), verziranom u “time travel” teme zahvaljujući seriji “Kronike Sarah Connor” kao produžetku “Terminatora”.

Romantična suština “Terminatora”, odnosno povratak Kylea Reesea iz budućnosti u sadašnjost zbog ljubavi (“Prošao sam kroz vrijeme zbog tebe, Sarah”), kao da je nadahnula Niffenegger za pisanje “The Time Traveler’s Wife”.

Nešto od te suštine “Terminatora”, njegova romantičnog srca i SF-ovskog mozga, opstoji u filmu “Žena vremenskog putnika”, ali i seriji.

Premda, glavni muški lik filma i serije Henry (ovaj put Theo James) ne može birati u kojoj će godini završiti, iako također putuje kroz vrijeme gol kao od majke rođen nakon što najednom nestane i od njega samo ostane hrpa odjeće. On samo nestane i pojavi se negdje drugdje u prošlosti ili budućnosti.

To je isprve iskorišteno u komične svrhe, tipa da Henry osvane usred ceste ili nasred polja s kravama, no s vremenom je istaknuta tragika jer njegovo putovanje nije supermoć, već nemoć i prokletstvo.

Nije lako ni njegovoj ženi Claire (Rose Leslie). “Udala sam se za vremenskog putnika, komplicirano je”, kaže Claire koja, dok Henryja nema, čeka i brine se ne samo “gdje je”, nego i “kad je”.

Komplicirano je blago rečeno: Henryja i Claire srećemo u različitoj dobi života, od djetinjstva i tinejdžerskih godina nadalje, što je posebno škakljivo u trenucima kad njegova starija inačica posjećuje njezinu mlađu, ali odrađeno u granicama dobrog ukusa i, općenito, “The Time Traveler’s Wife” zadržava načelno vedri ton unatoč potencijalnom mračnjaštvu.

Serije, konačno, ne bi bilo bez centralnog para u tumačenju Jamesa (serijal “Različita”, “Posljednja pljačka”) i Leslie (“Game Of Thrones”, "The Last Witch Hunter"). Oboje su dobili nikad veću priliku da se iskažu kao glumci i iskoristili je prilično dobro.

Pa ipak, ovo je, kako naslov sugerira, serija žene vremenskog putnika – Leslie. Crvenokosa glumica je njezino srce i pokazuje potencijal jedne Emme Stone.

Treba li svijetu nova ekranizacija dva desetljeća starog bestselera Audrey Niffenegger “Žena vremenskog putnika” nakon filma iz 2009. godine? Realno, ne treba.

”The Time Traveler’s Wife” je bio sasvim solidan romantični SF s Ericom Banom i Rachel McAdams u ulogama vremenskog putnika i njegove žene koja ga čeka da se vrati iz prošlosti i budućnosti.

Međutim, kako televizija posljednjih godina često radi nove verzije filmova ili već filmovanih bestselera, a možda i zato da streaming servis HBO Max ima svog serijskog “time travel” aduta za natjecanje s Netflixovom “Babuškom 2”, dobili smo aktualnu “Ženu vremenskog putnika”.

Očekivanja nisu bila visoka, ali nakon dobivenog uvida u svih šest epizoda serije, koja počinje 16. svibnja na HBO Maxu u jednotjednom ritmu prikazivanja, možemo reći da televizijska inačica “The Time Traveler’s Wife” nije uopće loša, dapače.

Zasluga je to kreatora serije Stevena Moffata (“Sherlock”) koji se iskalio na tematici putovanja kroz vrijeme na kultnom komadu SF televizije “Doktor Who”, a adaptirao je “Ženu vremenskog putnika” znatno spretnije u odnosu na nes(p)retnog “Drakulu”.

Moffat je pouzdanog suradnika imao u redatelju Davidu Nutteru (radio na “Igri prijestolja”,), verziranom u “time travel” teme zahvaljujući seriji “Kronike Sarah Connor” kao produžetku “Terminatora”.

Romantična suština “Terminatora”, odnosno povratak Kylea Reesea iz budućnosti u sadašnjost zbog ljubavi (“Prošao sam kroz vrijeme zbog tebe, Sarah”), kao da je nadahnula Niffenegger za pisanje “The Time Traveler’s Wife”.

Nešto od te suštine “Terminatora”, njegova romantičnog srca i SF-ovskog mozga, opstoji u filmu “Žena vremenskog putnika”, ali i seriji.

Premda, glavni muški lik filma i serije Henry (ovaj put Theo James) ne može birati u kojoj će godini završiti, iako također putuje kroz vrijeme gol kao od majke rođen nakon što najednom nestane i od njega samo ostane hrpa odjeće. On samo nestane i pojavi se negdje drugdje u prošlosti ili budućnosti.

To je isprve iskorišteno u komične svrhe, tipa da Henry osvane usred ceste ili nasred polja s kravama, no s vremenom je istaknuta tragika jer njegovo putovanje nije supermoć, već nemoć i prokletstvo.

Nije lako ni njegovoj ženi Claire (Rose Leslie). “Udala sam se za vremenskog putnika, komplicirano je”, kaže Claire koja, dok Henryja nema, čeka i brine se ne samo “gdje je”, nego i “kad je”.

Komplicirano je blago rečeno: Henryja i Claire srećemo u različitoj dobi života, od djetinjstva i tinejdžerskih godina nadalje, što je posebno škakljivo u trenucima kad njegova starija inačica posjećuje njezinu mlađu, ali odrađeno u granicama dobrog ukusa i, općenito, “The Time Traveler’s Wife” zadržava načelno vedri ton unatoč potencijalnom mračnjaštvu.

Serije, konačno, ne bi bilo bez centralnog para u tumačenju Jamesa (serijal “Različita”, “Posljednja pljačka”) i Leslie (“Game Of Thrones”, "The Last Witch Hunter"). Oboje su dobili nikad veću priliku da se iskažu kao glumci i iskoristili je prilično dobro.

Pa ipak, ovo je, kako naslov sugerira, serija žene vremenskog putnika – Leslie. Crvenokosa glumica je njezino srce i pokazuje potencijal jedne Emme Stone.
