Močvarna staništa spadaju u najugroženija u cijeloj Europi, jer su dijelom "platila" zbog svojeg statusa legla bolesti poput malarije, pa su ustrajno uništavana i isušivana.
Iako su te zarazne bolesti na našim prostorima uglavnom iskorijenjene, močvare još uvijek nose negativnu konotaciju te se ne uviđa njihova golema vrijednost. One su, kako upozoravaju iz udruge "Hyla", područja velike bioraznolikosti i utočišta mnogim vrstama koje su nekoć bile široko rasprostranjene, a danas opstaju na ostacima ostataka nekadašnjih močvarnih područja.

---– Delta rijeke Neretve spada u jedno od najvažnijih močvarnih staništa na istočnoj obali Jadrana. Tu se na malom prostoru izmjenjuju močvare, obradive površine, krška brda te ljudska naselja.
Riječ je o području koje je vrlo važno stanište za iznimno veliki broj vrsta ptica, riba, vodozemaca i gmazova te biljaka. Od kukaca su dobro istražena vretenca, obadi i komarci, dok su druge skupine, uključujući i leptire, slabije istražene – kaže dr. Toni Koren, viši stručni savjetnik u "Hyli".
Njegov profesionalni rad vezan je za faunu Hrvatske i okolnih država, a u svojoj karijeri okušao se u istraživanju kornjaša, leptira, vodozemaca i gmazova, pa čak i sisavaca na kojima je doktorirao. Ipak, najveća ljubav su mu leptiri, pa stoga dodaje:
– Kada razmišljamo o stanovnicima vlažnih i močvarnih staništa najčešće ne pomišljamo na leptire, a osobito ne na one noćne. Oni su iznimno raznolika skupina kukaca i dobri biopokazatelji očuvanosti vlažnih staništa. Njihove se gusjenice hrane biljkama poput trske, rogoza ili vodene leće.
Močvarni leptiri najčešće nemaju veliku mogućnost disperzije, odnosno nastanjivanja novih staništa te su u svim životnim stadijima vezani uz vlažna staništa. Sukladno tome, bilo kakve negativne promjene na staništima mogu negativno utjecati na biljke, a neposredno i na leptire čije se gusjenice njima hrane.

A sve je to dio priče vezane za sustavno istraživanje noćnih leptira delte rijeke Neretve koje je krenulo početkom prošle godine u suradnji Javne ustanove za upravljanje zaštićenim dijelovima prirode Dubrovačko-neretvanske županije i našeg sugovornika. Terenska istraživanja odvijaju se naravno noću i to uporabom različitih svjetlosnih zamki.
Prvenstveno se koriste svjetlosni šatori u čijoj se unutrašnjosti nalazi UV svjetlo koje privlači leptire. Leptiri slete na šator te ih tada istraživači imaju prilike detaljno pregledati i fotografirati. Pretpostavlja se da na područje Hrvatske dolazi oko 3500 vrsta noćnih leptira, što je puno više od danjih kojih je u našoj državi tek 197 vrsta.

Istraživanjem noćnih leptira delte Neretve do sada je, kako tvrdi dr. Koren, zabilježeno 475 vrsta. Desetak zabilježenih vrsta prvi put je pronađeno na prostoru naše države i na taj način trajno obogaćuju prirodnu baštinu Lijepe naše. No broj noćnih leptira delte Neretve daleko je od konačnog te će biti potrebno još nekoliko godina istraživanja da se u većoj mjeri istraži ovo zanimljivo područje.
U svakom slučaju potrebno je pozdraviti i aktivnosti Europske unije koje se provode na planu zaštite oprašivača, dakle, pčela, osa, leptira i drugih kukaca, jer je bez njih općenito ugrožena proizvodnja zdrave hrane na Starom kontinentu.

Na pjeskovitim staništima ušća živi rijetka sirijska pasovica, a na području cijele delte u jesenskim mjesecima možemo opaziti jesensku medonjicu. Sve u svemu, područje delte Neretve iznimno je bogato noćnim leptirima, a ovim istraživanjem tek je započelo upoznavanje ovog čudesnog i skrivenog svijeta – poručuje znanstvenik.

Močvarna staništa spadaju u najugroženija u cijeloj Europi, jer su dijelom "platila" zbog svojeg statusa legla bolesti poput malarije, pa su ustrajno uništavana i isušivana.
Iako su te zarazne bolesti na našim prostorima uglavnom iskorijenjene, močvare još uvijek nose negativnu konotaciju te se ne uviđa njihova golema vrijednost. One su, kako upozoravaju iz udruge "Hyla", područja velike bioraznolikosti i utočišta mnogim vrstama koje su nekoć bile široko rasprostranjene, a danas opstaju na ostacima ostataka nekadašnjih močvarnih područja.

---– Delta rijeke Neretve spada u jedno od najvažnijih močvarnih staništa na istočnoj obali Jadrana. Tu se na malom prostoru izmjenjuju močvare, obradive površine, krška brda te ljudska naselja.
Riječ je o području koje je vrlo važno stanište za iznimno veliki broj vrsta ptica, riba, vodozemaca i gmazova te biljaka. Od kukaca su dobro istražena vretenca, obadi i komarci, dok su druge skupine, uključujući i leptire, slabije istražene – kaže dr. Toni Koren, viši stručni savjetnik u "Hyli".
Njegov profesionalni rad vezan je za faunu Hrvatske i okolnih država, a u svojoj karijeri okušao se u istraživanju kornjaša, leptira, vodozemaca i gmazova, pa čak i sisavaca na kojima je doktorirao. Ipak, najveća ljubav su mu leptiri, pa stoga dodaje:
– Kada razmišljamo o stanovnicima vlažnih i močvarnih staništa najčešće ne pomišljamo na leptire, a osobito ne na one noćne. Oni su iznimno raznolika skupina kukaca i dobri biopokazatelji očuvanosti vlažnih staništa. Njihove se gusjenice hrane biljkama poput trske, rogoza ili vodene leće.
Močvarni leptiri najčešće nemaju veliku mogućnost disperzije, odnosno nastanjivanja novih staništa te su u svim životnim stadijima vezani uz vlažna staništa. Sukladno tome, bilo kakve negativne promjene na staništima mogu negativno utjecati na biljke, a neposredno i na leptire čije se gusjenice njima hrane.

A sve je to dio priče vezane za sustavno istraživanje noćnih leptira delte rijeke Neretve koje je krenulo početkom prošle godine u suradnji Javne ustanove za upravljanje zaštićenim dijelovima prirode Dubrovačko-neretvanske županije i našeg sugovornika. Terenska istraživanja odvijaju se naravno noću i to uporabom različitih svjetlosnih zamki.
Prvenstveno se koriste svjetlosni šatori u čijoj se unutrašnjosti nalazi UV svjetlo koje privlači leptire. Leptiri slete na šator te ih tada istraživači imaju prilike detaljno pregledati i fotografirati. Pretpostavlja se da na područje Hrvatske dolazi oko 3500 vrsta noćnih leptira, što je puno više od danjih kojih je u našoj državi tek 197 vrsta.

Istraživanjem noćnih leptira delte Neretve do sada je, kako tvrdi dr. Koren, zabilježeno 475 vrsta. Desetak zabilježenih vrsta prvi put je pronađeno na prostoru naše države i na taj način trajno obogaćuju prirodnu baštinu Lijepe naše. No broj noćnih leptira delte Neretve daleko je od konačnog te će biti potrebno još nekoliko godina istraživanja da se u većoj mjeri istraži ovo zanimljivo područje.
U svakom slučaju potrebno je pozdraviti i aktivnosti Europske unije koje se provode na planu zaštite oprašivača, dakle, pčela, osa, leptira i drugih kukaca, jer je bez njih općenito ugrožena proizvodnja zdrave hrane na Starom kontinentu.
– Terenskim radom zabilježili smo puno rijetkih i ugroženih vrsta noćnih leptira, poput neretvanske medonjice kojoj je ovo jedino stanište na području Hrvatske. U delti Neretve žive i jedni od najvećih leptira Europe, veliko noćno paunče i velika kvočka.

Na pjeskovitim staništima ušća živi rijetka sirijska pasovica, a na području cijele delte u jesenskim mjesecima možemo opaziti jesensku medonjicu. Sve u svemu, područje delte Neretve iznimno je bogato noćnim leptirima, a ovim istraživanjem tek je započelo upoznavanje ovog čudesnog i skrivenog svijeta – poručuje znanstvenik.
