Grad Ploče i tvrtka "Komunalno održavanje" počeli uklanjanje palmi s gradske rive.

Radi se o stablima posađenima početkom 70-ih godina koje su već neko vrijeme napadnute nametnicima, konkretno, palminom pipom koja je na isti način poharala brojne druge palme na dalmatinskoj obali. Stabla su prije dvije godine ostala bez krošnji, a sada je počelo truljenje i sušenje debla zbog čega postoji opasnost da palme visoke između sedam i osam metara počnu pucati, a time i prijetiti ljudima i imovini.

- Palme su dio vizure našega grada već pola stoljeća, nešto za što smo svi sentimentalno vezani, ali sigurnost nema alternativu. Pokazalo se na primjeru niz drugih gradova da palme nisu vrsta koja je održiva i da su iznimno podložne štetnicima.

Sadnja novih stabala zbog toga se ne čini racionalnom, jer osim što su sadnice prilično skupe, potencijalno mogu oboljeti i zato je jedina ispravna odluka ići u uklanjanje - rekao je gradonačelnik Mišo Krstičević.

Ovu odluku stručne službe Grada donijele su u suradnji s vanjskim stručnjacima s područja hortikulture koji su nakon detaljne analize procijenili kako nema nade da će se simboli Ploča oporaviti te da u budućnosti mogu predstavljati sigurnosni rizik.

Lokalna vlast je još ranije osigurala vanjsko sufinanciranje u iznosu od 80 posto za projekt vrijedan gotovo 400 tisuća eura za revitalizaciju šest zelenih zona diljem grada, među kojima je predviđena i riva. Umjesto palmi, posadit će se česmina (hrast crnika) koja je autohtona vrsta, puno otpornija na bolesti, štetnike, te dobro podnosi sušu i posolicu.

- Posadit ćemo stabla starosti od 12 do 15 godina, visine oko četiri metra koja u jednoj godini mogu narasti od 30 do 60 centimetara, tako da ćemo odmah imati već dobro uzrasla stabla koja će se lijepo uklopiti u postojeći krajobraz te će povećati estetsku i ambijentalnu vrijednost prostora.

Kao što su to donedavno bile palme, i novi drvored postat će vrlo brzo dio identiteta našega grada - naglasio je Krstičević.

Radovi na uklanjanju trajat će nekoliko dana, a nakon toga slijedi frezanje korijenja kako bi se osigurale rupe u koje će se, nakon dovršetka nabave materijala, posaditi nova stabla. Usporedno s uklanjanjem palmi počet će i postavljanje potpuno novog sustava za navodnjavanje.

Bit će to prva u nizu aktivnosti projekta ozelenjavanja, nakon koje će se obnova zelenog fonda obavljati i u središnjem parku u Ulici Vladimira Nazora, saniranom pokosu pokraj zgrade Policijske postaje, prostoru pokraj mosta i pijace, prostoru neposredno uz Ulicu Vladimira Nazora te u parku ispred Gradske uprave.

Dinamika sadnje na dijelu lokacija ovisi o završetku aktivnosti na izgradnji kanalizacijskog i vodoopskrbnog sustava. Ukupno je predviđeno 5907 sadnica bilja, grmlja i stabala te 4903 metra sustava za navodnjavanje.

Grad Ploče i tvrtka "Komunalno održavanje" počeli uklanjanje palmi s gradske rive.

Radi se o stablima posađenima početkom 70-ih godina koje su već neko vrijeme napadnute nametnicima, konkretno, palminom pipom koja je na isti način poharala brojne druge palme na dalmatinskoj obali. Stabla su prije dvije godine ostala bez krošnji, a sada je počelo truljenje i sušenje debla zbog čega postoji opasnost da palme visoke između sedam i osam metara počnu pucati, a time i prijetiti ljudima i imovini.

- Palme su dio vizure našega grada već pola stoljeća, nešto za što smo svi sentimentalno vezani, ali sigurnost nema alternativu. Pokazalo se na primjeru niz drugih gradova da palme nisu vrsta koja je održiva i da su iznimno podložne štetnicima.

Sadnja novih stabala zbog toga se ne čini racionalnom, jer osim što su sadnice prilično skupe, potencijalno mogu oboljeti i zato je jedina ispravna odluka ići u uklanjanje - rekao je gradonačelnik Mišo Krstičević.

Ovu odluku stručne službe Grada donijele su u suradnji s vanjskim stručnjacima s područja hortikulture koji su nakon detaljne analize procijenili kako nema nade da će se simboli Ploča oporaviti te da u budućnosti mogu predstavljati sigurnosni rizik.

Lokalna vlast je još ranije osigurala vanjsko sufinanciranje u iznosu od 80 posto za projekt vrijedan gotovo 400 tisuća eura za revitalizaciju šest zelenih zona diljem grada, među kojima je predviđena i riva. Umjesto palmi, posadit će se česmina (hrast crnika) koja je autohtona vrsta, puno otpornija na bolesti, štetnike, te dobro podnosi sušu i posolicu.

- Posadit ćemo stabla starosti od 12 do 15 godina, visine oko četiri metra koja u jednoj godini mogu narasti od 30 do 60 centimetara, tako da ćemo odmah imati već dobro uzrasla stabla koja će se lijepo uklopiti u postojeći krajobraz te će povećati estetsku i ambijentalnu vrijednost prostora.

Kao što su to donedavno bile palme, i novi drvored postat će vrlo brzo dio identiteta našega grada - naglasio je Krstičević.

Radovi na uklanjanju trajat će nekoliko dana, a nakon toga slijedi frezanje korijenja kako bi se osigurale rupe u koje će se, nakon dovršetka nabave materijala, posaditi nova stabla. Usporedno s uklanjanjem palmi počet će i postavljanje potpuno novog sustava za navodnjavanje.

Bit će to prva u nizu aktivnosti projekta ozelenjavanja, nakon koje će se obnova zelenog fonda obavljati i u središnjem parku u Ulici Vladimira Nazora, saniranom pokosu pokraj zgrade Policijske postaje, prostoru pokraj mosta i pijace, prostoru neposredno uz Ulicu Vladimira Nazora te u parku ispred Gradske uprave.

Dinamika sadnje na dijelu lokacija ovisi o završetku aktivnosti na izgradnji kanalizacijskog i vodoopskrbnog sustava. Ukupno je predviđeno 5907 sadnica bilja, grmlja i stabala te 4903 metra sustava za navodnjavanje.
