Dire Straitsi pjevaju "Money For Nothing" dok se na ekranu vrti nostalgična montaža popkulture osamdesetih. Predsjednik Reagan, Ghostbustersi, Stallone, U2, Mr. T, "Knight Rider"... Novi film režisera Bena Afflecka "Air" započinje evokativno i publiku vraća u 1984., godinu kad je "Nike" napravio tenisicu za tadašnjeg "guštera" legendarnih "Chicago Bullsa" Michaela Jordana.

Audiovizualna evokacija osamdesetih je izvrsna i zarazna, a takav je i film s kojim se Affleck kao redatelj vratio u punu formu ("Argo", "Nestala bez traga", "Grad lopova") nakon posrnuća sa "Zakonom noći". Film naprosto pršti od redateljske (i glumačke) "feel good" energije i prenosi je s ove strane ekrana, involvirajući publiku u nevjerojatnu istinitu priču o stvaranju najpopularnije sportske tenisice svih vremena "Air Jordan" iz scenarija talentiranog debitanta Alexa Converyja.

Gledatelj napeto navija da "Nikeov" tim predvođen košarkaškim regrutom Sonnyjem Vaccarom (Matt Damon) pridobije Jordana unatoč poznatom ishodu zbivanja i izlazi iz kina radostan i inspiriran da nanovo (po)vjeruje u nekoga ili nešto, snove, samoga sebe pa i cijeli svijet, ukoliko je negdje usput izgubio vjeru.

Affleck je pogodio kad je angažirao snimatelja Roberta Richardsona koji je za oslikavanje osamdesetih izveo ono što je u "Bilo jednom u... Hollywoodu" napravio za šezdesete, tj. u "Casinu" za sedamdesete, samo na manjoj, intimnijoj razini. Pogodio je i u izboru glumaca.

Kao Vaccaro, "mr. Miyagi srednjoškolske košarke" koji je u 18-godišnjem Jordanu vidio veličinu nakon jednog šuta i razmišljao dugoročno, Damon ostvaruje ponajbolju interpretaciju karijere. Vaccaro u njegovoj karijeri ima jednak značaj kao izvedba Brada Pitta u "Igri pobjednika", filma kakav bi se mogao dobro maratonski spariti s "Air", neovisno o tome što govori o bejzbolu.

Nakon što je napravio glumački "comeback" kao košarkaški trener u drami "Izvan igre", Affleck je sada sebi dao sočnu (sporednu) ulogu jednog od osnivača i direktora "Nikea" Phila Knighta koji je ekscesan i ekscentričan, vozi sportski Porsche "boje grožđa" i drži (bose) noge na stolu, ali vjeruje u svoje zaposlenike i spreman je na "just do it" odluke.

Svaka scena s interakcijom Damona i Afflecka je sjajna i njihov prijateljski odnos iz stvarnog života prelijeva se u kadar, uokvirujući zajedničku filmsku povijest od "Dobrog Willa Huntinga" naovamo. Interakcije glumaca su općenito odlične, pune pršteće sinergije.

Ističu se i Jason Bateman kao "Nikeov" direktor marketinga Rob Strasser, komičar Chris Tucker u netipičnom izdanju kao bivši igrač i "executive" Howard White, urnebesni kradljivac scena Chris Messina kao Jordanov agent David Falk, te glumački često napadna, a ovdje umjerena oskarovka Viola Davis kao Michaelova mudra i protektivna majka Deloris.

I sam glumac, Affleck je izvukao maksimum iz glumačke ekipe, uključujući i Marlona Wayansa u maloj ulozi trenera Georgea Ravelinga koji će Vacarra inspirirati na dirljivi "svakoga za ovim stolom će zaboraviti" monolog u odsudnom trenutku.

"Tenisica je samo tenisica dok je netko ne obuje", rekao je Strasser u filmu nakon što su "Nikeovci", kako ne bi ispali iz košarke i propali, odlučili pridobiti mladog košarkaša tako da oblikuju liniju sportske obuće oko njega ("Magic Johnson nema svoju tenisicu" i nadmašiti konkurentski "Adidas" i "Converse" s kojima je košarkaš namjeravao potpisati ugovor.

Iste riječi se mogu prenijeti na scenarij filma, ma koliko dobar bio. Scenarij je samo scenarij dok ga redatelj ne pretvori u sliku i glumci ne ožive likove. Znakovita je i rečenica "On ne nosi tenisicu, on jest tenisica", također prenosiva na film, tj. glumce. Stariji i zreliji Affleck i Damon napose osjećaju likove ljudi i pronalaze se u temama starenja pa i smrtnosti.

Knight i Vacarro se bore da pronađu veći smisao života i ostave nešto iza sebe po čemu će ih se netko sjećati jednom kad ih ne bude, vlastito nasljedstvo. Inspirativan, dubok i human, "Air" je možda i najbolji Affleckov film u ulozi redatelja, što je veliki kompliment za nekoga tko je već režirao Oscarom nagrađeni "Argo", "Gone Baby Gone" i "The Town".

Imamo li prvog potencijalnog kandidata za Oscar nominacije 2024., vrijeme će pokazati, ali "Air" svakako zaslužuje biti razmotren za buduće zlatne kipiće i zasigurno će poput Jordana poletjeti do vrhova naše (ovo)godišnje filmske "best of" liste. Ne razmišljajte puno oko odlaska u kino. Just do it.

Dire Straitsi pjevaju "Money For Nothing" dok se na ekranu vrti nostalgična montaža popkulture osamdesetih. Predsjednik Reagan, Ghostbustersi, Stallone, U2, Mr. T, "Knight Rider"... Novi film režisera Bena Afflecka "Air" započinje evokativno i publiku vraća u 1984., godinu kad je "Nike" napravio tenisicu za tadašnjeg "guštera" legendarnih "Chicago Bullsa" Michaela Jordana.

Audiovizualna evokacija osamdesetih je izvrsna i zarazna, a takav je i film s kojim se Affleck kao redatelj vratio u punu formu ("Argo", "Nestala bez traga", "Grad lopova") nakon posrnuća sa "Zakonom noći". Film naprosto pršti od redateljske (i glumačke) "feel good" energije i prenosi je s ove strane ekrana, involvirajući publiku u nevjerojatnu istinitu priču o stvaranju najpopularnije sportske tenisice svih vremena "Air Jordan" iz scenarija talentiranog debitanta Alexa Converyja.

Gledatelj napeto navija da "Nikeov" tim predvođen košarkaškim regrutom Sonnyjem Vaccarom (Matt Damon) pridobije Jordana unatoč poznatom ishodu zbivanja i izlazi iz kina radostan i inspiriran da nanovo (po)vjeruje u nekoga ili nešto, snove, samoga sebe pa i cijeli svijet, ukoliko je negdje usput izgubio vjeru.

Affleck je pogodio kad je angažirao snimatelja Roberta Richardsona koji je za oslikavanje osamdesetih izveo ono što je u "Bilo jednom u... Hollywoodu" napravio za šezdesete, tj. u "Casinu" za sedamdesete, samo na manjoj, intimnijoj razini. Pogodio je i u izboru glumaca.

Kao Vaccaro, "mr. Miyagi srednjoškolske košarke" koji je u 18-godišnjem Jordanu vidio veličinu nakon jednog šuta i razmišljao dugoročno, Damon ostvaruje ponajbolju interpretaciju karijere. Vaccaro u njegovoj karijeri ima jednak značaj kao izvedba Brada Pitta u "Igri pobjednika", filma kakav bi se mogao dobro maratonski spariti s "Air", neovisno o tome što govori o bejzbolu.

Nakon što je napravio glumački "comeback" kao košarkaški trener u drami "Izvan igre", Affleck je sada sebi dao sočnu (sporednu) ulogu jednog od osnivača i direktora "Nikea" Phila Knighta koji je ekscesan i ekscentričan, vozi sportski Porsche "boje grožđa" i drži (bose) noge na stolu, ali vjeruje u svoje zaposlenike i spreman je na "just do it" odluke.

Svaka scena s interakcijom Damona i Afflecka je sjajna i njihov prijateljski odnos iz stvarnog života prelijeva se u kadar, uokvirujući zajedničku filmsku povijest od "Dobrog Willa Huntinga" naovamo. Interakcije glumaca su općenito odlične, pune pršteće sinergije.

Ističu se i Jason Bateman kao "Nikeov" direktor marketinga Rob Strasser, komičar Chris Tucker u netipičnom izdanju kao bivši igrač i "executive" Howard White, urnebesni kradljivac scena Chris Messina kao Jordanov agent David Falk, te glumački često napadna, a ovdje umjerena oskarovka Viola Davis kao Michaelova mudra i protektivna majka Deloris.

I sam glumac, Affleck je izvukao maksimum iz glumačke ekipe, uključujući i Marlona Wayansa u maloj ulozi trenera Georgea Ravelinga koji će Vacarra inspirirati na dirljivi "svakoga za ovim stolom će zaboraviti" monolog u odsudnom trenutku.

"Tenisica je samo tenisica dok je netko ne obuje", rekao je Strasser u filmu nakon što su "Nikeovci", kako ne bi ispali iz košarke i propali, odlučili pridobiti mladog košarkaša tako da oblikuju liniju sportske obuće oko njega ("Magic Johnson nema svoju tenisicu" i nadmašiti konkurentski "Adidas" i "Converse" s kojima je košarkaš namjeravao potpisati ugovor.

Iste riječi se mogu prenijeti na scenarij filma, ma koliko dobar bio. Scenarij je samo scenarij dok ga redatelj ne pretvori u sliku i glumci ne ožive likove. Znakovita je i rečenica "On ne nosi tenisicu, on jest tenisica", također prenosiva na film, tj. glumce. Stariji i zreliji Affleck i Damon napose osjećaju likove ljudi i pronalaze se u temama starenja pa i smrtnosti.

Knight i Vacarro se bore da pronađu veći smisao života i ostave nešto iza sebe po čemu će ih se netko sjećati jednom kad ih ne bude, vlastito nasljedstvo. Inspirativan, dubok i human, "Air" je možda i najbolji Affleckov film u ulozi redatelja, što je veliki kompliment za nekoga tko je već režirao Oscarom nagrađeni "Argo", "Gone Baby Gone" i "The Town".

Imamo li prvog potencijalnog kandidata za Oscar nominacije 2024., vrijeme će pokazati, ali "Air" svakako zaslužuje biti razmotren za buduće zlatne kipiće i zasigurno će poput Jordana poletjeti do vrhova naše (ovo)godišnje filmske "best of" liste. Ne razmišljajte puno oko odlaska u kino. Just do it.
