Noina arka za spas ljudskog roda lansirana je u svemir u bliskoj budućnosti 2063. da čovječanstvo započne iznova na drugom nastanjivom planetu nakon što Zemlja izum(i)re od zagrijavanja. Na svemirskom brodu za opstanak rase nalazi se tridesetak mladića i djevojaka, zajedno s mentorom, znanstvenikom Richardom (Colin Farrell).

Putovanje traje 86 godina i na nastanjivi planet će stići unuci mlade posade koja će provesti cijeli odrasli život na svemirskom brodu i umrijeti prije nego dosegne odredište. Posadu je, zato, Richard "uzgojio" u laboratoriju i odgojio u zatvorenim prostorima da se naviknu na klaustrofobične interijere i ne upoznaju vanjski svijet, tj. Zemlju kao takvu kako im ne bi nedostajala prilikom jednosmjernog puta bez povratka na kojem oni djeluju kao "poveznica između prošlih i sadašnjih generacija".

Transgeneracijska misija na rubu galaksije s ciljem kolonizacije novog svijeta dolazi s dodatnom komplikacijom u već ionako intrigantno postavljenom SF filmu "Putnici" redatelja i scenarista Neila Burgera ("Iluzionist", "Savršena formula").

Naime, mladići i djevojke na dnevnoj bazi piju plavu tekućinu sa sastojkom koji suzbija njihove emocije, smanjuje osjete i ludovanje hormona.

Burger prikazuje njihovu monotonu svakodnevicu u kojoj su dodiri zabranjeni i solidno gradi temelje svojevrsnog društva budućnosti unutar svemirskog broda kliničkih interijera, radeći poveznicu između prošlih i sadašnjih generacija distopijskih futurističkih/SF filmova ambijentiranih u bezosjećajne utopije/distopije s kontrolom pučanstva i likovima potisnutih emocija i nagona, od "THX 1138" Georgea Lucasa do "Jednakih" Drakea Doremusa.

Naravno, "Voyagers" je na većoj valnoj duljini s "Equals" kao još jedan primjerak trendovske "young adult" distopije koji, za promjenu, nije ekranizacija nekog bestselerskog predloška za "mlade odrasle". "Young adult" tipologija je prisutna u "Putnicima", od osnovnog diskursa priče, preko isključivo mladenačke ekipe i atraktivnih mladih glumaca do ljubavnog trokuta na relaciji Christopher-Sela-Zac (Tye Sheridan, Lily Rose-Depp, Fionn Whitehead).

Konačno, Burger je prethodno režirao jedan futurističko-distopijski "YA" film – "Različita". Međutim, kad Christopher i Zac odluče prestati piti napitak, otkrivši da ih nadređeni drogiraju mladiće i djevojke kako bi ih mogli kontrolirati posadu ("što još taje?!"), Burger se vraća senzornoj režiji iz njegova filma "Limitless" i pravi inverziju.

Ovdje je otkrivanje suzbijenih osjećaja i nagona droga koja dovodi do povišenog doživljaja stvarnosti i audiovizualnih senzacija, širenja zjenica i "ježenja" dlaka na tijelu od prvog dodira itd. Do tog trenutka "Putnici" su prilično dobri, no padaju u drugoj polovici kad Burger, tražeći svjež odmak od prosjeka "young adult" filma koji svejedno nadilazi, prebacuje "Gospodara muha" Williama Goldinga u svemir i ubacuje ga u "YA" distopiju.

Svemirski brod, interesantno, postaje otok iz "Lord Of The Flies", napučen i djevojkama, ne samo mladićima, ali naizgledni pozitivci odveć brzo otkrivaju lice sociopatskih negativaca (Zac), tj. pristojni momci i cure u par kadrova razmaka postaju primitivni, krvožedni divljaci kad se stvari otmu kontroli i primarni nagoni pomute bistar um.

Srećom, film nije "Gospodar muha" bez glave kako se činilo da bi mogao postati nakon što mladež uzme elektromagnetske puške u ruke, prijeteći da priču pretvori u prosječni bezmozgaški blockbuster. Ideje su zanimljivo natuknute, a razina tenzije, klaustrofobije i paranoje dovoljna da zbivanja načini napetima, dok su budžetirani kadrovi svemira i eksterijera svemirskog broda u oku direktora fotografije Enriquea Chediaka, ozvučeni nadahnutom glazbom Trevora Gureckisa, stvoreni za kinodoživljaj.

Kontrola slobodne volje, uspostava vladavine straha, širenje lažnih vijesti ("alien je na brodu"), preispitivanje stvarnosti, sumnja u viši smisao ("naši životi su nevažni"), prava narav čovjeka, odnosno prirode dobra i zla kojemu se lakše prikloniti kad se poljuljaju temelji ljudskosti i zavlada kaos... Svega toga se u filmu očešao Burger preslikavajući sadašnjost u daljoj budućnosti.

Mladi glumci u usponu

Tye Sheridan je glumio u novim "X-Menima", "Igraču broj 1" i "Mudu", a nedavno je viđen u "Noćnom recepcionaru". Lily Rose-Depp, kćerku Johnnyja Deppa i Vanesse Paradis, gledali smo u "Planetariju", "Vjernom čovjeku"... Fionn Whitehead je, pak, otkriće Nolanova "Dunkirka" i ovdje gotovo neprepoznatljiv.

Noina arka za spas ljudskog roda lansirana je u svemir u bliskoj budućnosti 2063. da čovječanstvo započne iznova na drugom nastanjivom planetu nakon što Zemlja izum(i)re od zagrijavanja. Na svemirskom brodu za opstanak rase nalazi se tridesetak mladića i djevojaka, zajedno s mentorom, znanstvenikom Richardom (Colin Farrell).

Putovanje traje 86 godina i na nastanjivi planet će stići unuci mlade posade koja će provesti cijeli odrasli život na svemirskom brodu i umrijeti prije nego dosegne odredište. Posadu je, zato, Richard "uzgojio" u laboratoriju i odgojio u zatvorenim prostorima da se naviknu na klaustrofobične interijere i ne upoznaju vanjski svijet, tj. Zemlju kao takvu kako im ne bi nedostajala prilikom jednosmjernog puta bez povratka na kojem oni djeluju kao "poveznica između prošlih i sadašnjih generacija".

Transgeneracijska misija na rubu galaksije s ciljem kolonizacije novog svijeta dolazi s dodatnom komplikacijom u već ionako intrigantno postavljenom SF filmu "Putnici" redatelja i scenarista Neila Burgera ("Iluzionist", "Savršena formula").

Naime, mladići i djevojke na dnevnoj bazi piju plavu tekućinu sa sastojkom koji suzbija njihove emocije, smanjuje osjete i ludovanje hormona.

Burger prikazuje njihovu monotonu svakodnevicu u kojoj su dodiri zabranjeni i solidno gradi temelje svojevrsnog društva budućnosti unutar svemirskog broda kliničkih interijera, radeći poveznicu između prošlih i sadašnjih generacija distopijskih futurističkih/SF filmova ambijentiranih u bezosjećajne utopije/distopije s kontrolom pučanstva i likovima potisnutih emocija i nagona, od "THX 1138" Georgea Lucasa do "Jednakih" Drakea Doremusa.

Naravno, "Voyagers" je na većoj valnoj duljini s "Equals" kao još jedan primjerak trendovske "young adult" distopije koji, za promjenu, nije ekranizacija nekog bestselerskog predloška za "mlade odrasle". "Young adult" tipologija je prisutna u "Putnicima", od osnovnog diskursa priče, preko isključivo mladenačke ekipe i atraktivnih mladih glumaca do ljubavnog trokuta na relaciji Christopher-Sela-Zac (Tye Sheridan, Lily Rose-Depp, Fionn Whitehead).

Konačno, Burger je prethodno režirao jedan futurističko-distopijski "YA" film – "Različita". Međutim, kad Christopher i Zac odluče prestati piti napitak, otkrivši da ih nadređeni drogiraju mladiće i djevojke kako bi ih mogli kontrolirati posadu ("što još taje?!"), Burger se vraća senzornoj režiji iz njegova filma "Limitless" i pravi inverziju.

Ovdje je otkrivanje suzbijenih osjećaja i nagona droga koja dovodi do povišenog doživljaja stvarnosti i audiovizualnih senzacija, širenja zjenica i "ježenja" dlaka na tijelu od prvog dodira itd. Do tog trenutka "Putnici" su prilično dobri, no padaju u drugoj polovici kad Burger, tražeći svjež odmak od prosjeka "young adult" filma koji svejedno nadilazi, prebacuje "Gospodara muha" Williama Goldinga u svemir i ubacuje ga u "YA" distopiju.

Svemirski brod, interesantno, postaje otok iz "Lord Of The Flies", napučen i djevojkama, ne samo mladićima, ali naizgledni pozitivci odveć brzo otkrivaju lice sociopatskih negativaca (Zac), tj. pristojni momci i cure u par kadrova razmaka postaju primitivni, krvožedni divljaci kad se stvari otmu kontroli i primarni nagoni pomute bistar um.

Srećom, film nije "Gospodar muha" bez glave kako se činilo da bi mogao postati nakon što mladež uzme elektromagnetske puške u ruke, prijeteći da priču pretvori u prosječni bezmozgaški blockbuster. Ideje su zanimljivo natuknute, a razina tenzije, klaustrofobije i paranoje dovoljna da zbivanja načini napetima, dok su budžetirani kadrovi svemira i eksterijera svemirskog broda u oku direktora fotografije Enriquea Chediaka, ozvučeni nadahnutom glazbom Trevora Gureckisa, stvoreni za kinodoživljaj.

Kontrola slobodne volje, uspostava vladavine straha, širenje lažnih vijesti ("alien je na brodu"), preispitivanje stvarnosti, sumnja u viši smisao ("naši životi su nevažni"), prava narav čovjeka, odnosno prirode dobra i zla kojemu se lakše prikloniti kad se poljuljaju temelji ljudskosti i zavlada kaos... Svega toga se u filmu očešao Burger preslikavajući sadašnjost u daljoj budućnosti.

Mladi glumci u usponu

Tye Sheridan je glumio u novim "X-Menima", "Igraču broj 1" i "Mudu", a nedavno je viđen u "Noćnom recepcionaru". Lily Rose-Depp, kćerku Johnnyja Deppa i Vanesse Paradis, gledali smo u "Planetariju", "Vjernom čovjeku"... Fionn Whitehead je, pak, otkriće Nolanova "Dunkirka" i ovdje gotovo neprepoznatljiv.
