Vi ste Spitzovi, vaša reputacija vas je pretekla... ne na pozitivan način – kaže pregovarač MI6 za talačke krize Miller (Mark Strong) kad upozna amaterske detektive Nicka i Audrey (Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston) u filmu “Murder Mystery 2”.

Reputacija, sve samo ne pozitivna, pretekla je i Sandlerove komedije unatrag desetak godina kao što su “Starci”, “Jack i Jill: Ludi blizanci”, “Tatin sin”, “Starci 2”, “Obiteljski kaos”, “Pikseli”..., naročito one u produkciji Netflixa (“The Ridiculous 6”, “The Do-Over”, “Sandy Wexler”, “The Week Of”).

Netflixov “Murder Mystery”, preveden kao “Slučajni detektivi”, bio je nešto bolji ili manje loš u odnosu na navedene, osrednja i generička, ali gledljiva komedija krimi prefiksa koja je u Nicku Spitzu predstavila sandlerovsku inačicu Poirota i komičara nanovo ujedinila s “prijateljicom” Aniston nakon hita “Moja lažna žena”.

Gledanost na streamingu bila je velika i “Murder Mystery” je produbio novi-stari trend “whodunit” filmova u stilu Agathe Christie začet klasičnom Poirotovom krimi pustolovinom “Ubojstvo u Orient Expressu” u modernijem blockbusterskom ruhu i potvrđen pojavom detektiva Benoita Blanca u “Nožu u leđa”.

Kad su Poirot i Blanc dobili nastavke (“Smrt na Nilu”, “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery”), bilo je očekivano da će se i Spitzovi vratiti za još jednu avanturu. Međutim, “Slučajni detektivi 2” nisu ispali blagi napredak spram originala kao što je to “Death On The Nile” niti solidan nastavak poput “Noža u leđa 2”.

“Murder Mystery 2” je slabiji i još generičkiji od prethodnika, a nipošto mu na ruku ne ide ni to da se pojavio nakon “Knives Out 2” i “See How They Run” kao superiornijih primjeraka lakonotnijeg “whodnit” krimića s čijim klišejima se ufino sprdaju, odnosno poslije “Uncut Gems” braće Safdie i Netflixov “The Hustle” koji su Sandlera hvalevrijedno predstavili u drukčijem, dramskom svjetlu.

Ovo je korak nazad za “whodunit” žanr, “Slučajne detektive” i Sandlera, bilo samog ili u kombinaciji s Aniston s kojom ima opuštenu kemiju. Za ovakve filmove postoji dobar naziv “lazy sequel” (lijeni nastavak) jer “Murder Mystery 2” je upravo to.

Nakon što su prije četiri godine riješili “neke od najvažnijih umorstava stoljeća”, dali otkaz na poslu i započeli karijeru privatnih istražitelja, Nicku i Audrey ne ide baš najbolje. No, imat će priliku da se opet dokažu na međunarodnoj pozornici kad budu pozvani na egzotično indijsko vjenčanje i mladoženja bude otet, a svatko od uzvanika je sumnjiv jer je imao neki motiv, kao mladenka (Melanie Laurent), bivša djevojka (Jodie Turner-Smith)...

Dašak Bollywooda iskorišten je za prvoloptašku komediju (nezgrapni ples), iako je to mogao biti osvježavajući dodatak filmu koji brže-bolje, da izbjegne usporedbu s “Glass Onion”, prebacuje radnju s otoka u Pariz gdje će se Spitzovi naći u jurnjavi, izbjegavati metke i visjeti s Eiffelova tornja.

Misterija nije misteriozna, a komedija je rijetko uistinu smiješna, ali “Slučajni detektivi 2” barem povremeno uspiju zabljesnuti fizičkom komikom u akciji, kao u sceni tučnjave u kombiju tijekom potjere, kad se Nick brani aktovkom od nekolicine otmičara sa sjekirom i u sveopćoj gužvi počne daviti krivog tipa kojeg je već ubio. Sandler je iznenađujuće uvjerljiv u akciji. Radije bismo da snimiti akcijski film kakav je “Nobody” umjesto “Murder Mystery 3”.

Aniston i Sandler su ujedno i producenti filma zajedno s Charlze Theron. Sandler će se ubrzo još jednom naći ispred kamere braće Safdie, a upravo je snimio i SF dramu "Spaceman" s Carey Mulligan.

Vi ste Spitzovi, vaša reputacija vas je pretekla... ne na pozitivan način – kaže pregovarač MI6 za talačke krize Miller (Mark Strong) kad upozna amaterske detektive Nicka i Audrey (Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston) u filmu “Murder Mystery 2”.

Reputacija, sve samo ne pozitivna, pretekla je i Sandlerove komedije unatrag desetak godina kao što su “Starci”, “Jack i Jill: Ludi blizanci”, “Tatin sin”, “Starci 2”, “Obiteljski kaos”, “Pikseli”..., naročito one u produkciji Netflixa (“The Ridiculous 6”, “The Do-Over”, “Sandy Wexler”, “The Week Of”).

Netflixov “Murder Mystery”, preveden kao “Slučajni detektivi”, bio je nešto bolji ili manje loš u odnosu na navedene, osrednja i generička, ali gledljiva komedija krimi prefiksa koja je u Nicku Spitzu predstavila sandlerovsku inačicu Poirota i komičara nanovo ujedinila s “prijateljicom” Aniston nakon hita “Moja lažna žena”.

Gledanost na streamingu bila je velika i “Murder Mystery” je produbio novi-stari trend “whodunit” filmova u stilu Agathe Christie začet klasičnom Poirotovom krimi pustolovinom “Ubojstvo u Orient Expressu” u modernijem blockbusterskom ruhu i potvrđen pojavom detektiva Benoita Blanca u “Nožu u leđa”.

Kad su Poirot i Blanc dobili nastavke (“Smrt na Nilu”, “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery”), bilo je očekivano da će se i Spitzovi vratiti za još jednu avanturu. Međutim, “Slučajni detektivi 2” nisu ispali blagi napredak spram originala kao što je to “Death On The Nile” niti solidan nastavak poput “Noža u leđa 2”.

“Murder Mystery 2” je slabiji i još generičkiji od prethodnika, a nipošto mu na ruku ne ide ni to da se pojavio nakon “Knives Out 2” i “See How They Run” kao superiornijih primjeraka lakonotnijeg “whodnit” krimića s čijim klišejima se ufino sprdaju, odnosno poslije “Uncut Gems” braće Safdie i Netflixov “The Hustle” koji su Sandlera hvalevrijedno predstavili u drukčijem, dramskom svjetlu.

Ovo je korak nazad za “whodunit” žanr, “Slučajne detektive” i Sandlera, bilo samog ili u kombinaciji s Aniston s kojom ima opuštenu kemiju. Za ovakve filmove postoji dobar naziv “lazy sequel” (lijeni nastavak) jer “Murder Mystery 2” je upravo to.

Nakon što su prije četiri godine riješili “neke od najvažnijih umorstava stoljeća”, dali otkaz na poslu i započeli karijeru privatnih istražitelja, Nicku i Audrey ne ide baš najbolje. No, imat će priliku da se opet dokažu na međunarodnoj pozornici kad budu pozvani na egzotično indijsko vjenčanje i mladoženja bude otet, a svatko od uzvanika je sumnjiv jer je imao neki motiv, kao mladenka (Melanie Laurent), bivša djevojka (Jodie Turner-Smith)...

Dašak Bollywooda iskorišten je za prvoloptašku komediju (nezgrapni ples), iako je to mogao biti osvježavajući dodatak filmu koji brže-bolje, da izbjegne usporedbu s “Glass Onion”, prebacuje radnju s otoka u Pariz gdje će se Spitzovi naći u jurnjavi, izbjegavati metke i visjeti s Eiffelova tornja.

Misterija nije misteriozna, a komedija je rijetko uistinu smiješna, ali “Slučajni detektivi 2” barem povremeno uspiju zabljesnuti fizičkom komikom u akciji, kao u sceni tučnjave u kombiju tijekom potjere, kad se Nick brani aktovkom od nekolicine otmičara sa sjekirom i u sveopćoj gužvi počne daviti krivog tipa kojeg je već ubio. Sandler je iznenađujuće uvjerljiv u akciji. Radije bismo da snimiti akcijski film kakav je “Nobody” umjesto “Murder Mystery 3”.

Sandler još jednom s braćom Safdie

Aniston i Sandler su ujedno i producenti filma zajedno s Charlze Theron. Sandler će se ubrzo još jednom naći ispred kamere braće Safdie, a upravo je snimio i SF dramu "Spaceman" s Carey Mulligan.
