Odlazak dragog režisera Richarda Donnera tražio je ponovno gledanje nekog filma u njegovu čast. Nekog koji se nije odavno obnovio ili (na)pisao, dakle ne "Smrtonosno oružje", "Pretkazanje", "Družba Goonies", "Urota". Vaga je bila između "Supermana", "Žene sokol", "Mavericka" i "16 blokova", s posebnim nagnućem prema prvom filmu.

No, kad je RTL najavio emitiranje "Supermana", dvojbe više nije bilo. Gledat će se i pisati "Superman (1978.). Ponovni susret sa "Supermanom" bio je prilično emotivno iskustvo za Donnerova fana. U sceni kad Superman (Christopher Reeve) leti oko našeg planeta i vraća vrijeme unatrag da oživi Lois Lane (Margot Kidder), lako je poželjeti da je napravio nešto slično za Donnera.

Novo gledanje je bilo i dobar podsjetnik na to koliko je "Superman" vječna osobna i kolektivna uspomena generacije sedamdesetih i osamdesetih s nizom nezaboravnih prizora ili scena i monumentalnom, ikoničkom glazbenom temom Johna Williamsa.

Uvodna špica s plavim slovima koja "supermanovski" dolijeću na ekran nošena Williamsovom trijumfalno bildajućom glazbom i zaraznim krešendom. Suđenje generalu Zodu i njegovim pomoćnicima na planetu Kriptonu s krupnim planovima starih članova vijeća blijeda lica koji iz današnje optike izgledaju poput Smrti iz "Sedmog pečata" ("Guilty!").

Monolog Supermanova tate Jor-Ela u izvedbi Marlona Branda i njegovo slanje sinčića Kal-Ela na Zemlju prije uništenja Kriptona u letjelici nalik zvjezdici: "... Sin postaje otac, otac sin...". Izlazak malog Supermana iz kratera na čuđenje Jonathana i Marthe Kent (Glenn Ford, Phyllis Thaxter), njegovih budućih zemaljskih roditelja.

Trenutak kad mali Clark Kent/Superman podigne kamion i spasi tatu Jonathana. Utrkivanje tinejdžerskog Clarka/Supermana s putničkim vlakom. Spašavanje Lois u helikopteru i njihov rendes na nebu... Svaka od ovih scena i dalje je kadra izazvati uzbuđenje, emociju, "ježenje", navijanje, a u realnom vremenu možete samo zamisliti kakav je to osjećaj bio.

Filmovi sedamdesetih, poput "Prisluškivanja", "Pasjeg popodneva" i "Taksista", bili su mračni, beznadežni i pesimistični, reflektirali turbulentno razdoblje Amerike i svijeta (Vijetnam, afera Watergate). Ljudima je trebalo svjetlo, zraka nade i optimizma. "Nedostaje im samo svjetlo da pokaže put", pripovijedao je Jor-El i poslao nam Kal-Ela, "svog jedinog sina", budućeg Supermana.

Nesumnjivo, Donner je razmišljao slično kao Jor-El i poslao nam "Supermana", rijetki film iz sedamdesetih, uz "Rockyja", koji je budio ovakav osjećaj nade, optimizma i poleta, usput projicirajući punokrvnu "spielbergovsku" filmsku magiju u slici i zvuku, pa nije čudno da mu je Spielberg kasnije producirao "Gooniese".

Donner je pogodio angažmanom Williamsa kao skladatelja. Williams je prethodno ozvučio "Ralje", "Bliske susrete treće vrste" i "Ratove zvijezda", ubrzo i serijal "Indiana Jones" i "E.T.-ja", a ovdje je u partiturama nadmašio samoga sebe. Svaka čast njegovim sjajnim temama iz "Star Warsa" i "Indiane Jonesa", ali "Superman" je "Superman" i svaki put kad zasvira glavna tema ili "The Planet Krypton", trnci su zagarantirani.

Pogodio je Donner i castingom Supermana. Stallone, Rocky glavom i bradom, bio je jedan u nizu poznatih glumaca u optjecaju za Supermana (Paul Newman, Robert Redford, James Caan...), no Donner je riskirao i inzistirao da Čovjeka od čelika utjelovi anonimac, radije nego neka zvijezda, te odabrao Reevea koji još uvijek ne dobiva dovoljno pohvale za svoju veoma nijansirano i suptilno odigranu dvojnu ulogu.

Osim što Reeve izgleda kao "pljunuti" Superman iz stripa (zalizana kosa, "square jaw" brada, široka ramena, razvijen prsni koš) i kostim mu pristaje kao saliven, dakle iznimno je uvjerljiv kao nadmoćni superjunak, stripovsko utjelovljenje borbe za "istinu, pravdu i američki način", on je još uvjerljiviji kad se Čovjek od čelika skriva iza naočala svog alter-ega Clarka Kenta, druge strane njegove ličnosti.

Reeve glumi Kenta kao trapaviju, nerdovskiju inačicu protagonista starih romantičnih "screwball" komedija u tipu Caryja Granta ili Spencera Tracyja, dok je Kidder njegova Katharine Hepburn. Glumac je izvrstan i u nekoliko sekundi razmaka može promijeniti žanrovski i karakterni registar od komedije do akcije, tj. od Kenta do Supermana, kao u sceni prvog presvlačenja Clarka u Čovjeka od čelika, odnosno kretanja u akciju, koja također zaslužuje titulu nezaboravne.

Neprocjenjiv je njegov pogled na telefonsku govornicu koja nije zatvorenog tipa kao u stripu i time ne odgovara za preobrazbu, da bi se snašao s okretnim vratima obližnje zgrade koja se zarotiraju superbrzinom dok on mijenja odjeću od Kentove odijela do Supermanova kostima. "Ispričajte me", istovremeno pristojno i kulerski kaže Superman ljudima kad ga vide tako odjevena te poleti spasiti Lois.

Interesantno je i komercijalno riskantno da Superman na scenu nastupa tek negdje oko 65. minute 143-minutna filma, a prvi put je u odijelu pokazan u 48-oj. Superjunak nije morski pas iz "Jaws", ali Donner je skrivao njegov ulazak u film kao da je negativac. Čak su se Alien i Predator u svojim filmovima takoreći pojavili prije Supermana u njegovom.

Redatelj je bildao Supermanovu mitologiju i anticipaciju od njegova pojavljivanja tako da gledatelj doživi ekstazu kad napokon vidi Čovjeka od čelika, što je danas uglavnom nezamislivo u vrijeme kad se sve traži sad i odmah, a publika je nestrpljiva. Tako, Supermana najprije vidimo kao bebu u scenama na Kriptonu, kad film operira kao SF/"space opera" i drži se bolje od sličnih ostvarenja epohe ("Flash Gordon", "Dina").

Zatim je klinac i tinejdžer (glume ga Aaron Smolinski i Jeff East) u američkom gradiću Smallville u pasažima dirljive "americane", gotovo pa vesterna. Djetinjstvo, dječaštvo i mladost Donner obuhvaća u prvih 45 minuta radeći svojevrsni superjunački "Boyhood" prije "Boyhooda", uspostavljajući i kronicirajući korijene lika Clarka i Supermana.

No, zato je "Superman" vjerojatno i najepskiji superherojski film, pravi američki klasik koji za njegov lik i djelo radi približno isto onome što je Coppola napravio u "The Godfather Part II" za Brandova Vita Corleonea. Mario Puzo, scenarist "Kumova", jedan je od scenarista "Supermana" i epičnost u Donnerovu pristupu se osjeti.

Impresionira lakoća s kakvom Donner autentično miješa ordinarno i ekstraordinarno, te ide iz žanra u žanr, od SF-a i "americane" do romantične komedije bizarnog ljubavnog trokuta Kent-Lois-Superman i blockbusterske superjunačke akcije rođene iz filma katastrofe, dominantnog u sedamdesetima (potres u završnici s rušenjem mostova i brana zaslugom negativca Lexa Luthora u tumačenju Genea Hackmana).

Neki od efekata danas su zastarjeli u usporedbi s novim superherojskim spektaklima kojima je "Superman" kao prvi pravi superjunački film pokazao put, ali Donnerov dječji "sense of wonder" je zimzelen. "Superman" je jedna od definicija moderne filmske magije i osjećaja čuđenja.

Poslan na Zemlju s razlogom

Kal-El je svome sinu govorio da se ne smije miješati u ljudsku povijest, a njegov zemaljski otac je isticao da je poslan na Zemlju s razlogom kako bi napravio promjenu. Superman će se prikloniti riječima zemaljskog oca kad odluči spasiti Lois. Film je dvije godine kasnije dobio dostojan nastavak "Superman II". P.S. "Superman" se prikazuje 24. srpnja u ranom popodnevnom terminu na RTL-u.

Odlazak dragog režisera Richarda Donnera tražio je ponovno gledanje nekog filma u njegovu čast. Nekog koji se nije odavno obnovio ili (na)pisao, dakle ne "Smrtonosno oružje", "Pretkazanje", "Družba Goonies", "Urota". Vaga je bila između "Supermana", "Žene sokol", "Mavericka" i "16 blokova", s posebnim nagnućem prema prvom filmu.

No, kad je RTL najavio emitiranje "Supermana", dvojbe više nije bilo. Gledat će se i pisati "Superman (1978.). Ponovni susret sa "Supermanom" bio je prilično emotivno iskustvo za Donnerova fana. U sceni kad Superman (Christopher Reeve) leti oko našeg planeta i vraća vrijeme unatrag da oživi Lois Lane (Margot Kidder), lako je poželjeti da je napravio nešto slično za Donnera.

Novo gledanje je bilo i dobar podsjetnik na to koliko je "Superman" vječna osobna i kolektivna uspomena generacije sedamdesetih i osamdesetih s nizom nezaboravnih prizora ili scena i monumentalnom, ikoničkom glazbenom temom Johna Williamsa.

Uvodna špica s plavim slovima koja "supermanovski" dolijeću na ekran nošena Williamsovom trijumfalno bildajućom glazbom i zaraznim krešendom. Suđenje generalu Zodu i njegovim pomoćnicima na planetu Kriptonu s krupnim planovima starih članova vijeća blijeda lica koji iz današnje optike izgledaju poput Smrti iz "Sedmog pečata" ("Guilty!").

Monolog Supermanova tate Jor-Ela u izvedbi Marlona Branda i njegovo slanje sinčića Kal-Ela na Zemlju prije uništenja Kriptona u letjelici nalik zvjezdici: "... Sin postaje otac, otac sin...". Izlazak malog Supermana iz kratera na čuđenje Jonathana i Marthe Kent (Glenn Ford, Phyllis Thaxter), njegovih budućih zemaljskih roditelja.

Trenutak kad mali Clark Kent/Superman podigne kamion i spasi tatu Jonathana. Utrkivanje tinejdžerskog Clarka/Supermana s putničkim vlakom. Spašavanje Lois u helikopteru i njihov rendes na nebu... Svaka od ovih scena i dalje je kadra izazvati uzbuđenje, emociju, "ježenje", navijanje, a u realnom vremenu možete samo zamisliti kakav je to osjećaj bio.

Filmovi sedamdesetih, poput "Prisluškivanja", "Pasjeg popodneva" i "Taksista", bili su mračni, beznadežni i pesimistični, reflektirali turbulentno razdoblje Amerike i svijeta (Vijetnam, afera Watergate). Ljudima je trebalo svjetlo, zraka nade i optimizma. "Nedostaje im samo svjetlo da pokaže put", pripovijedao je Jor-El i poslao nam Kal-Ela, "svog jedinog sina", budućeg Supermana.

Nesumnjivo, Donner je razmišljao slično kao Jor-El i poslao nam "Supermana", rijetki film iz sedamdesetih, uz "Rockyja", koji je budio ovakav osjećaj nade, optimizma i poleta, usput projicirajući punokrvnu "spielbergovsku" filmsku magiju u slici i zvuku, pa nije čudno da mu je Spielberg kasnije producirao "Gooniese".

Donner je pogodio angažmanom Williamsa kao skladatelja. Williams je prethodno ozvučio "Ralje", "Bliske susrete treće vrste" i "Ratove zvijezda", ubrzo i serijal "Indiana Jones" i "E.T.-ja", a ovdje je u partiturama nadmašio samoga sebe. Svaka čast njegovim sjajnim temama iz "Star Warsa" i "Indiane Jonesa", ali "Superman" je "Superman" i svaki put kad zasvira glavna tema ili "The Planet Krypton", trnci su zagarantirani.

Pogodio je Donner i castingom Supermana. Stallone, Rocky glavom i bradom, bio je jedan u nizu poznatih glumaca u optjecaju za Supermana (Paul Newman, Robert Redford, James Caan...), no Donner je riskirao i inzistirao da Čovjeka od čelika utjelovi anonimac, radije nego neka zvijezda, te odabrao Reevea koji još uvijek ne dobiva dovoljno pohvale za svoju veoma nijansirano i suptilno odigranu dvojnu ulogu.

Osim što Reeve izgleda kao "pljunuti" Superman iz stripa (zalizana kosa, "square jaw" brada, široka ramena, razvijen prsni koš) i kostim mu pristaje kao saliven, dakle iznimno je uvjerljiv kao nadmoćni superjunak, stripovsko utjelovljenje borbe za "istinu, pravdu i američki način", on je još uvjerljiviji kad se Čovjek od čelika skriva iza naočala svog alter-ega Clarka Kenta, druge strane njegove ličnosti.

Reeve glumi Kenta kao trapaviju, nerdovskiju inačicu protagonista starih romantičnih "screwball" komedija u tipu Caryja Granta ili Spencera Tracyja, dok je Kidder njegova Katharine Hepburn. Glumac je izvrstan i u nekoliko sekundi razmaka može promijeniti žanrovski i karakterni registar od komedije do akcije, tj. od Kenta do Supermana, kao u sceni prvog presvlačenja Clarka u Čovjeka od čelika, odnosno kretanja u akciju, koja također zaslužuje titulu nezaboravne.

Neprocjenjiv je njegov pogled na telefonsku govornicu koja nije zatvorenog tipa kao u stripu i time ne odgovara za preobrazbu, da bi se snašao s okretnim vratima obližnje zgrade koja se zarotiraju superbrzinom dok on mijenja odjeću od Kentove odijela do Supermanova kostima. "Ispričajte me", istovremeno pristojno i kulerski kaže Superman ljudima kad ga vide tako odjevena te poleti spasiti Lois.

Interesantno je i komercijalno riskantno da Superman na scenu nastupa tek negdje oko 65. minute 143-minutna filma, a prvi put je u odijelu pokazan u 48-oj. Superjunak nije morski pas iz "Jaws", ali Donner je skrivao njegov ulazak u film kao da je negativac. Čak su se Alien i Predator u svojim filmovima takoreći pojavili prije Supermana u njegovom.

Redatelj je bildao Supermanovu mitologiju i anticipaciju od njegova pojavljivanja tako da gledatelj doživi ekstazu kad napokon vidi Čovjeka od čelika, što je danas uglavnom nezamislivo u vrijeme kad se sve traži sad i odmah, a publika je nestrpljiva. Tako, Supermana najprije vidimo kao bebu u scenama na Kriptonu, kad film operira kao SF/"space opera" i drži se bolje od sličnih ostvarenja epohe ("Flash Gordon", "Dina").

Zatim je klinac i tinejdžer (glume ga Aaron Smolinski i Jeff East) u američkom gradiću Smallville u pasažima dirljive "americane", gotovo pa vesterna. Djetinjstvo, dječaštvo i mladost Donner obuhvaća u prvih 45 minuta radeći svojevrsni superjunački "Boyhood" prije "Boyhooda", uspostavljajući i kronicirajući korijene lika Clarka i Supermana.

No, zato je "Superman" vjerojatno i najepskiji superherojski film, pravi američki klasik koji za njegov lik i djelo radi približno isto onome što je Coppola napravio u "The Godfather Part II" za Brandova Vita Corleonea. Mario Puzo, scenarist "Kumova", jedan je od scenarista "Supermana" i epičnost u Donnerovu pristupu se osjeti.

Impresionira lakoća s kakvom Donner autentično miješa ordinarno i ekstraordinarno, te ide iz žanra u žanr, od SF-a i "americane" do romantične komedije bizarnog ljubavnog trokuta Kent-Lois-Superman i blockbusterske superjunačke akcije rođene iz filma katastrofe, dominantnog u sedamdesetima (potres u završnici s rušenjem mostova i brana zaslugom negativca Lexa Luthora u tumačenju Genea Hackmana).

Neki od efekata danas su zastarjeli u usporedbi s novim superherojskim spektaklima kojima je "Superman" kao prvi pravi superjunački film pokazao put, ali Donnerov dječji "sense of wonder" je zimzelen. "Superman" je jedna od definicija moderne filmske magije i osjećaja čuđenja.

Poslan na Zemlju s razlogom

Kal-El je svome sinu govorio da se ne smije miješati u ljudsku povijest, a njegov zemaljski otac je isticao da je poslan na Zemlju s razlogom kako bi napravio promjenu. Superman će se prikloniti riječima zemaljskog oca kad odluči spasiti Lois. Film je dvije godine kasnije dobio dostojan nastavak "Superman II". P.S. "Superman" se prikazuje 24. srpnja u ranom popodnevnom terminu na RTL-u.

‘Superman‘: Istina, pravda i superjunački način

Odlazak dragog režisera Richarda Donnera tražio je ponovno gledanje nekog filma u njegovu čast. Nekog koji se nije odavno obnovio ili (na)pisao, dakle ne "Smrtonosno oružje", "Pretkazanje", "Družba Goonies", "Urota". Vaga je bila između "Supermana", "Žene sokol", "Mavericka" i "16 blokova", s posebnim nagnućem prema prvom filmu.

No, kad je RTL najavio emitiranje "Supermana", dvojbe više nije bilo. Gledat će se i pisati "Superman (1978.). Ponovni susret sa "Supermanom" bio je prilično emotivno iskustvo za Donnerova fana. U sceni kad Superman (Christopher Reeve) leti oko našeg planeta i vraća vrijeme unatrag da oživi Lois Lane (Margot Kidder), lako je poželjeti da je napravio nešto slično za Donnera.

Novo gledanje je bilo i dobar podsjetnik na to koliko je "Superman" vječna...
