Streaming konkurencija ovogodišnjeg Valentinova podsjeća na vrijeme kad su u kina iste godine stizali filmovi blizanci nudeći dvije verzije iste priče o Wyattu Earpu, vulkanima, asteroidima itd. Netflix je, dakle, prigodno na Dan zaljubljenih pustio romantičnu komediju "Players", a Amazon je uzvratio svojim valentinovskim rom-com adutom "Unaprijeđena" ("Upgraded") redateljice Carlson Young.

Oba filma bave se pretvaranjima, tj. zamjenama identiteta, što je u srži žanra od pamtivijeka (npr. "Praznik u Rimu", "Neki to vole vruće"), dok ih predvode ih mlade glumice "latino" podrijetla, od Gine Rodriguez do Camile Mendes. Srećom, posrijedi nisu posve iste romantične komedije.

"Unaprijeđena" nije ništa lošija od "Igrača", a pronalazi inspiraciju u filmovima kao što su "Zaposlena djevojka" i "Vrag nosi Pradu", ali i "Pepeljugi" kao preteči svih romantičnih komedija. Protagonistica u tumačenju Mendes, Ana Santos, kombinacija je likova Melanie Griffith i Anne Hathaway iz "Working Girl" i "The Devil Wears Prada".

Ona je ambiciozna pripravnica i mašta da ostvari karijeru u svijetu umjetnosti, ali baš i ne uspijeva impresionirati svoju (pre)zahtjevnu šeficu Claire Dupont (Marisa Tomei kao spoj "Cinderella" maćehe i Mirande Priestley iz "Vrag nosi Pradu", samo bez finesa Meryl Streep) s kojom odlazi na poslovno putovanje u London povodom velike aukcije.

Kolegice Suzette i Renee (Fola Evans-Akingbola, Rachel Matthews kao mješavina Pepeljuginih polusestara i lika Emily Blunt iz "The Devil Wears Prada") angažiraju Anu da tegli kofere i smještaju je u ekonomsku klasu. Ipak, spletom okolnosti naša pripravnica biva unaprijeđena u prvu klasu i na letu upoznaje zgodnog Willa Delarochea (ne pretjerano karizmatični Archie Renaux; "Putnici", "Sjena i kost") koji će krivo interpretirati Anine riječi i zamijeniti je za njezinu šeficu.

Ana prihvaća igru i počne se predstavljati kao Claire, prema receptu "Zaposlene djevojke", dok ulazi u londonsko visoko društvo s Willom, sinom bogate nasljednice Catherine (veteranka Lena Olin), a njezina maska svakog trena može spasti. Uz sve navedene (nedostižne) uzore, "Upgraded" se ugleda i u glamuroznu romantično-komičnu seriju "Emily In Paris", toliko da se film gotovo pa može nazvati i "Ana In London".

London igra značajnu ulogu kao Pariz u popularnoj seriji s Lily Collins u glavnoj ulozi, pri čemu film posvećuje pažnju i onim manje glamuroznim/turističkim lokacijama koje svejedno mogu biti zanimljive za buduće posjete ljubiteljim britanske prijestolnice. Očito, "Unaprijeđena" nema puno toga originalnoga i svi klišeji su na mjestu, naročito oni karakterni i situacijski, ali funkcionira za jedno neobavezno postvalentinovsko gledanje, najviše zahvaljujući glumici, baš kao i u slučaju "Igrača".

Mendes je skrenula pozornost na sebe nastupima u tinejdžerskoj seriji "Riverdale" i Netflixovu "teen" filmu "Spremne za osvetu", a sada napokon glumi lik približno svojih godina (29) i demonstrira potencijal buduće heroine rom-com žanra. "Upgrade" je potvrda da Mendes zaslužuje biti unaprijeđena.

Streaming konkurencija ovogodišnjeg Valentinova podsjeća na vrijeme kad su u kina iste godine stizali filmovi blizanci nudeći dvije verzije iste priče o Wyattu Earpu, vulkanima, asteroidima itd. Netflix je, dakle, prigodno na Dan zaljubljenih pustio romantičnu komediju "Players", a Amazon je uzvratio svojim valentinovskim rom-com adutom "Unaprijeđena" ("Upgraded") redateljice Carlson Young.

Oba filma bave se pretvaranjima, tj. zamjenama identiteta, što je u srži žanra od pamtivijeka (npr. "Praznik u Rimu", "Neki to vole vruće"), dok ih predvode ih mlade glumice "latino" podrijetla, od Gine Rodriguez do Camile Mendes. Srećom, posrijedi nisu posve iste romantične komedije.

"Unaprijeđena" nije ništa lošija od "Igrača", a pronalazi inspiraciju u filmovima kao što su "Zaposlena djevojka" i "Vrag nosi Pradu", ali i "Pepeljugi" kao preteči svih romantičnih komedija. Protagonistica u tumačenju Mendes, Ana Santos, kombinacija je likova Melanie Griffith i Anne Hathaway iz "Working Girl" i "The Devil Wears Prada".

Ona je ambiciozna pripravnica i mašta da ostvari karijeru u svijetu umjetnosti, ali baš i ne uspijeva impresionirati svoju (pre)zahtjevnu šeficu Claire Dupont (Marisa Tomei kao spoj "Cinderella" maćehe i Mirande Priestley iz "Vrag nosi Pradu", samo bez finesa Meryl Streep) s kojom odlazi na poslovno putovanje u London povodom velike aukcije.

Kolegice Suzette i Renee (Fola Evans-Akingbola, Rachel Matthews kao mješavina Pepeljuginih polusestara i lika Emily Blunt iz "The Devil Wears Prada") angažiraju Anu da tegli kofere i smještaju je u ekonomsku klasu. Ipak, spletom okolnosti naša pripravnica biva unaprijeđena u prvu klasu i na letu upoznaje zgodnog Willa Delarochea (ne pretjerano karizmatični Archie Renaux; "Putnici", "Sjena i kost") koji će krivo interpretirati Anine riječi i zamijeniti je za njezinu šeficu.

Ana prihvaća igru i počne se predstavljati kao Claire, prema receptu "Zaposlene djevojke", dok ulazi u londonsko visoko društvo s Willom, sinom bogate nasljednice Catherine (veteranka Lena Olin), a njezina maska svakog trena može spasti. Uz sve navedene (nedostižne) uzore, "Upgraded" se ugleda i u glamuroznu romantično-komičnu seriju "Emily In Paris", toliko da se film gotovo pa može nazvati i "Ana In London".

London igra značajnu ulogu kao Pariz u popularnoj seriji s Lily Collins u glavnoj ulozi, pri čemu film posvećuje pažnju i onim manje glamuroznim/turističkim lokacijama koje svejedno mogu biti zanimljive za buduće posjete ljubiteljim britanske prijestolnice. Očito, "Unaprijeđena" nema puno toga originalnoga i svi klišeji su na mjestu, naročito oni karakterni i situacijski, ali funkcionira za jedno neobavezno postvalentinovsko gledanje, najviše zahvaljujući glumici, baš kao i u slučaju "Igrača".

Mendes je skrenula pozornost na sebe nastupima u tinejdžerskoj seriji "Riverdale" i Netflixovu "teen" filmu "Spremne za osvetu", a sada napokon glumi lik približno svojih godina (29) i demonstrira potencijal buduće heroine rom-com žanra. "Upgrade" je potvrda da Mendes zaslužuje biti unaprijeđena.
