Nobelovu nagradu za književnost za 2020. godinu dobila je američka pjesnikinja Louise Glück "za nepogrešiv poetski glas koji jednostavnom ljepotom individualno čini univerzalnim", objavio je švedski odbor za dodjelu ove prestižne nagrade.

Zbog pandemije koronavirusa laureatkinja je najavila da neće osobno prisustvovati dodjeli koja se uobičajeno održava 10. prosinca.

Američka pjesnikinja Louise Glück rođena je 1943. u New Yorku, a živi u Cambridgeu u Massachusettsu. Osim što je pisala, radila je i kao profesorica engleskog jezika na Sveučilištu Yale, u Connecticutu. Debitirala je 1968. godine s "Prvorođenom", a ubrzo je proglašena jednom od najistaknutijih pjesnikinja u američkoj suvremenoj književnosti. Dobila je nekoliko prestižnih nagrada, među njima Pulitzerovu nagradu (1993.) i National Book Award (2014.). Objavila je dvanaest pjesničkih zbirki i nekoliko tomova eseja o poeziji.

Središnja tema njezine poezije, koja nije prevođena na hrvatski jezik, je djetinjstvo i obiteljski život, blizak odnos s roditeljima, braćom i sestrama; u pjesmama u sebi osluškuje ono što je ostalo od njegovih snova i zabluda i beskompromisno se suočava s iluzijama o sebi.

No, usprkos autobiografskoj podlozi, nju se ne smatra ispovjednom pjesnikinjom, ona traži univerzalno i u tome crpi inspiraciju, kao i iz mitova i klasičnih motiva prisutnih u većini njezinih djela. Glasovi Didone, Perzefone i Euridike - napušteni, kažnjeni, izdani - služe joj kao maske za vlastitu transformaciju. Pulitzerovu nagradu dobila je za svoju hvaljenu zbirku "Divlja perunika", a National Book Award za posljednju, "Vjerna i kreposna noć".

Louise Glück je šesnaesta po redu žena koja je dobila ovu književnu nagradu, od 1901. godine, od kada je Nobelova nagrada dodijeljena prvi put. Švedska autorica Selma Lagerlöf (1858.-1940.) bila je prva žena koja je nagrađena 1909. godine, a najstarija dobitnica Nobelove nagrade za književnost je Doris Lessing, koja je imala 88 godina kada joj je dodijeljena nagrada 2007. godine. Najmlađi laureat je Rudyard Kipling, koji je imao 41 godinu kada je 1907. dobio nagradu.

Nobelovu nagradu za književnost za 2020. godinu dobila je američka pjesnikinja Louise Glück "za nepogrešiv poetski glas koji jednostavnom ljepotom individualno čini univerzalnim", objavio je švedski odbor za dodjelu ove prestižne nagrade.

Zbog pandemije koronavirusa laureatkinja je najavila da neće osobno prisustvovati dodjeli koja se uobičajeno održava 10. prosinca.

Američka pjesnikinja Louise Glück rođena je 1943. u New Yorku, a živi u Cambridgeu u Massachusettsu. Osim što je pisala, radila je i kao profesorica engleskog jezika na Sveučilištu Yale, u Connecticutu. Debitirala je 1968. godine s "Prvorođenom", a ubrzo je proglašena jednom od najistaknutijih pjesnikinja u američkoj suvremenoj književnosti. Dobila je nekoliko prestižnih nagrada, među njima Pulitzerovu nagradu (1993.) i National Book Award (2014.). Objavila je dvanaest pjesničkih zbirki i nekoliko tomova eseja o poeziji.

Središnja tema njezine poezije, koja nije prevođena na hrvatski jezik, je djetinjstvo i obiteljski život, blizak odnos s roditeljima, braćom i sestrama; u pjesmama u sebi osluškuje ono što je ostalo od njegovih snova i zabluda i beskompromisno se suočava s iluzijama o sebi.

No, usprkos autobiografskoj podlozi, nju se ne smatra ispovjednom pjesnikinjom, ona traži univerzalno i u tome crpi inspiraciju, kao i iz mitova i klasičnih motiva prisutnih u većini njezinih djela. Glasovi Didone, Perzefone i Euridike - napušteni, kažnjeni, izdani - služe joj kao maske za vlastitu transformaciju. Pulitzerovu nagradu dobila je za svoju hvaljenu zbirku "Divlja perunika", a National Book Award za posljednju, "Vjerna i kreposna noć".

Louise Glück je šesnaesta po redu žena koja je dobila ovu književnu nagradu, od 1901. godine, od kada je Nobelova nagrada dodijeljena prvi put. Švedska autorica Selma Lagerlöf (1858.-1940.) bila je prva žena koja je nagrađena 1909. godine, a najstarija dobitnica Nobelove nagrade za književnost je Doris Lessing, koja je imala 88 godina kada joj je dodijeljena nagrada 2007. godine. Najmlađi laureat je Rudyard Kipling, koji je imao 41 godinu kada je 1907. dobio nagradu.

Louise Glück, nova književna nobelovka, neće doći na dodjelu nagrade zbog pandemije koronavirusa

Nobelovu nagradu za književnost za 2020. godinu dobila je američka pjesnikinja Louise Glück "za nepogrešiv poetski glas koji jednostavnom ljepotom individualno čini univerzalnim", objavio je švedski odbor za dodjelu ove prestižne nagrade.

Zbog pandemije koronavirusa laureatkinja je najavila da neće osobno prisustvovati dodjeli koja se uobičajeno održava 10. prosinca.

Američka pjesnikinja Louise Glück rođena je 1943. u New Yorku, a živi u Cambridgeu u Massachusettsu. Osim što je pisala, radila je i kao profesorica engleskog jezika na Sveučilištu Yale, u Connecticutu. Debitirala je 1968. godine s "Prvorođenom", a ubrzo je proglašena jednom od najistaknutijih pjesnikinja u američkoj suvremenoj književnosti.
