Saborski zastupnici danas su izglasali konačni prijedlog izmjena i dopuna Kaznenog zakona, kojim se, između ostaloga, uvodi novo kazneno djelo – napuštanje životinja! Onaj tko napusti domaću životinju, kućnog ljubimca, uzgojenu divlju životinju i drugu životinju koji bi trebao držati pod nadzorom kaznit će se kaznom zatvora do godinu dana. Ako je pak napuštanjem prouzročena smrt životinje ili je napušten veći broj životinja, počinitelj će se kazniti zatvorom do dvije godine. Povijesna je to odluka za životinje i rezultat našeg velikog angažmana. Još 2021. godine pokrenuli smo peticiju sa zahtjevom da se čin napuštanja životinja tretira kaznom zatvora, objavili su Prijatelji životinja.
Slavimo i zato što je Ministarstvo pravosuđa i uprave pokazalo da ide ukorak sa zaštitom životinja u drugim europskim zakonodavstvima. Naime, prihvatilo je i naš prijedlog i unijelo u Kazneni zakon novu sigurnosnu mjeru – mjeru zabrane držanja i nabavljanja životinja, u trajanju od jedne od pet godina.
Sud ju može izreći onome koji je počinio kazneno djelo nad životinjom ako postoji opasnost da će počiniti isto ili slično djelo. Uvrštavanje ove mjere iznimno je važno zato što smo dosad mnogo puta svjedočili da zlostavljači nakon počinjenja i najtežih kaznenih djela na štetu životinja ubrzo nabavljaju novu životinju, koju isto zlostavljaju, i tako ostaju trajni društveni problem i prijetnja.
Dodatni razlog za slavlje je i povisivanje kazni za nanošenje životinjama nepotrebne boli ili izlaganje nepotrebnim patnjama te za usmrćivanje i teško zlostavljanje životinja – dosad se mogla izreći maksimalna kazna do godinu dana zatvora, a sada će biti do dvije godine. Ako se ta kaznena djela počine iz koristoljublja, počinitelj će moći dobiti kaznu zatvora do tri godine umjesto dosadašnje dvije.

Saborski zastupnici danas su izglasali konačni prijedlog izmjena i dopuna Kaznenog zakona, kojim se, između ostaloga, uvodi novo kazneno djelo – napuštanje životinja! Onaj tko napusti domaću životinju, kućnog ljubimca, uzgojenu divlju životinju i drugu životinju koji bi trebao držati pod nadzorom kaznit će se kaznom zatvora do godinu dana. Ako je pak napuštanjem prouzročena smrt životinje ili je napušten veći broj životinja, počinitelj će se kazniti zatvorom do dvije godine. Povijesna je to odluka za životinje i rezultat našeg velikog angažmana. Još 2021. godine pokrenuli smo peticiju sa zahtjevom da se čin napuštanja životinja tretira kaznom zatvora, objavili su Prijatelji životinja.
Slavimo i zato što je Ministarstvo pravosuđa i uprave pokazalo da ide ukorak sa zaštitom životinja u drugim europskim zakonodavstvima. Naime, prihvatilo je i naš prijedlog i unijelo u Kazneni zakon novu sigurnosnu mjeru – mjeru zabrane držanja i nabavljanja životinja, u trajanju od jedne od pet godina.
Sud ju može izreći onome koji je počinio kazneno djelo nad životinjom ako postoji opasnost da će počiniti isto ili slično djelo. Uvrštavanje ove mjere iznimno je važno zato što smo dosad mnogo puta svjedočili da zlostavljači nakon počinjenja i najtežih kaznenih djela na štetu životinja ubrzo nabavljaju novu životinju, koju isto zlostavljaju, i tako ostaju trajni društveni problem i prijetnja.
Dodatni razlog za slavlje je i povisivanje kazni za nanošenje životinjama nepotrebne boli ili izlaganje nepotrebnim patnjama te za usmrćivanje i teško zlostavljanje životinja – dosad se mogla izreći maksimalna kazna do godinu dana zatvora, a sada će biti do dvije godine. Ako se ta kaznena djela počine iz koristoljublja, počinitelj će moći dobiti kaznu zatvora do tri godine umjesto dosadašnje dvije.
