Meso bavarskih divljih svinja često je prilično radioaktivno, čak do te mjere da ga je opasno jesti. Znanstvenici su dugo razmišljali zašto, ali sada tvrde da imaju odgovor.

Znanstvenici su desetljećima bili zbunjeni takozvanim “paradoksom bavarske radioaktivne divlje svinje“. U nekim slučajevima njihovo je meso čak i opasno radioaktivno, prenosi N1 Slovenija.

Tijekom nadzora od 2019. do 2021. u čak 88 posto uzoraka izmjerene su visoke razine radioaktivnog cezija od 137 i 135. One su ponekad premašivale dopuštene vrijednosti i više desetaka puta, piše magazin Live Science.

Povećanu prisutnost radioaktivnih elemenata u mesu divljih svinja znanstvenici su isprva pripisivali nuklearnoj nesreći u Černobilu 1986. godine, nakon koje je velika količina radioaktivnih tvari pala na velik dio Europe, uključujući i Bavarsku. No nakon toliko vremena količina radioaktivnih tvari u mesu divljih životinja trebala bi se smanjivati. Kod većine drugih vrsta to se dogodilo, osim kod divljih svinja. I upravo je ta činjenica mučila znanstvenike koji sada misle da znaju odgovor.

Životinje su, po svemu sudeći, radioaktivno kontaminirane svojom omiljenom hranom – tartufima. Naravno, tartufi sami po sebi nisu radioaktivni, ali su također kontaminirani radioaktivnim elementima koji su u njih dospjeli s oborinama koje su nad Bavarskom padale s područja gdje su velesile tijekom Hladnog rata testirale nuklearne bombe.

Neke radioaktivne tvari mogu ostati u okolišu jako dugo. Danas znanstvenici na temelju takozvanog “radioaktivnog otiska” mogu zaključiti odakle je radioaktivna tvar došla na neko područje. U studiji objavljenoj u časopisu Environmental Science and Technology krajem kolovoza, znanstvenici su objavili da iza paradoksa divlje svinje stoje radioaktivni materijali iz Černobila i oni iz testiranja nuklearnog oružja tijekom Hladnog rata.

Međutim, omjer između radioaktivnog cezija 135 i 137 je drugačiji ako se proizvodi u nuklearnim reaktorima ili tijekom nuklearne eksplozije. Omjer izmjeren u svinjskom mesu sugerirao je da su ova dva elementa nastala nuklearnim eksplozijama. Na područje Bavarske, gdje nisu vršena nuklearna testiranja, donijeli su ih vjetrovi koji su puhali s područja testiranja i oblaci.

Cezij 135 i 137 najprije su s radioaktivnom kišom pali u tlo, a tamo su se nakupljali u gljivama koje tove divlje svinje. U videu ispod možete pogledati time-lapse video svih nuklearnih eksplozija u svijetu od 1945. godine.

Razumijevanje ekološke postojanosti radioaktivnog onečišćenja velik je znanstveni problem još od prve atomske bombe koja je eksplodirala nad Japanom 1945. godine. Znanstvenici još uvijek ne razumiju kako na sigurnost hrane utječu nuklearni napadi ili nesreće u nuklearnim elektranama.

“Ova studija ilustrira da strateške odluke u vezi s provedbom atmosferskih nuklearnih pokusa prije 60-80 godina još uvijek utječu na udaljena prirodna okruženja, divlje životinje i ljudske izvore hrane”, napisali su autori spomenutog istraživanja, prenosi N1 Slovenija.

Jedan od autora, Georg Steinhauser s Tehničkog sveučilišta u Beču, rekao je za Daily Beast da bi nalazi studije trebali poslužiti kao “upozorenje” za čovječanstvo.

“Davno zaboravljeni testovi atmosferskog nuklearnog oružja i njihove posljedice još uvijek bacaju sjenu na okoliš”, rekao je Steinhauser. “Samo zato što su se dogodili prije 60 godina ne znači da više ne utječu na ekosustav”, dodao je.

Meso bavarskih divljih svinja često je prilično radioaktivno, čak do te mjere da ga je opasno jesti. Znanstvenici su dugo razmišljali zašto, ali sada tvrde da imaju odgovor.

Znanstvenici su desetljećima bili zbunjeni takozvanim “paradoksom bavarske radioaktivne divlje svinje“. U nekim slučajevima njihovo je meso čak i opasno radioaktivno, prenosi N1 Slovenija.

Tijekom nadzora od 2019. do 2021. u čak 88 posto uzoraka izmjerene su visoke razine radioaktivnog cezija od 137 i 135. One su ponekad premašivale dopuštene vrijednosti i više desetaka puta, piše magazin Live Science.

Povećanu prisutnost radioaktivnih elemenata u mesu divljih svinja znanstvenici su isprva pripisivali nuklearnoj nesreći u Černobilu 1986. godine, nakon koje je velika količina radioaktivnih tvari pala na velik dio Europe, uključujući i Bavarsku. No nakon toliko vremena količina radioaktivnih tvari u mesu divljih životinja trebala bi se smanjivati. Kod većine drugih vrsta to se dogodilo, osim kod divljih svinja. I upravo je ta činjenica mučila znanstvenike koji sada misle da znaju odgovor.

Životinje su, po svemu sudeći, radioaktivno kontaminirane svojom omiljenom hranom – tartufima. Naravno, tartufi sami po sebi nisu radioaktivni, ali su također kontaminirani radioaktivnim elementima koji su u njih dospjeli s oborinama koje su nad Bavarskom padale s područja gdje su velesile tijekom Hladnog rata testirale nuklearne bombe.

Neke radioaktivne tvari mogu ostati u okolišu jako dugo. Danas znanstvenici na temelju takozvanog “radioaktivnog otiska” mogu zaključiti odakle je radioaktivna tvar došla na neko područje. U studiji objavljenoj u časopisu Environmental Science and Technology krajem kolovoza, znanstvenici su objavili da iza paradoksa divlje svinje stoje radioaktivni materijali iz Černobila i oni iz testiranja nuklearnog oružja tijekom Hladnog rata.

Međutim, omjer između radioaktivnog cezija 135 i 137 je drugačiji ako se proizvodi u nuklearnim reaktorima ili tijekom nuklearne eksplozije. Omjer izmjeren u svinjskom mesu sugerirao je da su ova dva elementa nastala nuklearnim eksplozijama. Na područje Bavarske, gdje nisu vršena nuklearna testiranja, donijeli su ih vjetrovi koji su puhali s područja testiranja i oblaci.

Razumijevanje ekološke postojanosti radioaktivnog onečišćenja velik je znanstveni problem još od prve atomske bombe koja je eksplodirala nad Japanom 1945. godine. Znanstvenici još uvijek ne razumiju kako na sigurnost hrane utječu nuklearni napadi ili nesreće u nuklearnim elektranama.

“Ova studija ilustrira da strateške odluke u vezi s provedbom atmosferskih nuklearnih pokusa prije 60-80 godina još uvijek utječu na udaljena prirodna okruženja, divlje životinje i ljudske izvore hrane”, napisali su autori spomenutog istraživanja, prenosi N1 Slovenija.

Jedan od autora, Georg Steinhauser s Tehničkog sveučilišta u Beču, rekao je za Daily Beast da bi nalazi studije trebali poslužiti kao “upozorenje” za čovječanstvo.

“Davno zaboravljeni testovi atmosferskog nuklearnog oružja i njihove posljedice još uvijek bacaju sjenu na okoliš”, rekao je Steinhauser. “Samo zato što su se dogodili prije 60 godina ne znači da više ne utječu na ekosustav”, dodao je.

Meso bavarskih divljih svinja često je prilično radioaktivno, čak do te mjere da ga je opasno jesti. Znanstvenici su dugo razmišljali zašto, ali sada tvrde da imaju odgovor.

Znanstvenici su desetljećima bili zbunjeni takozvanim “paradoksom bavarske radioaktivne divlje svinje“. U nekim slučajevima njihovo je meso čak i opasno radioaktivno, prenosi N1 Slovenija.

Tijekom nadzora od 2019. do 2021. u čak 88 posto uzoraka izmjerene su visoke razine radioaktivnog cezija od 137 i 135. One su ponekad premašivale dopuštene vrijednosti i više desetaka puta, piše magazin Live Science.
