U Velikoj Britaniji je provedeno veliko istraživanje kako bi se utvrdilo zašto muškarci umiru tijekom odnosa. Kako stare rizik raste, iako u određenom postotku nisu pošteđeni ni mlađi muškarci.
Intimni odnosi imaju mnoge blagotvorne fizičke i psihičke učinke na tijelo, uključujući snižavanje visokog krvnog tlaka, poboljšanje imunološkog sustava i bolji san. Nažalost, postoji i njihova tamna strana, koja ponekad može dovesti i do kobnog ishoda, piše blic.rs.
Ljudi ponekad umiru tijekom ili nedugo nakon intimnog odnosa. Srećom, učestalost je iznimno niska i čini 0,6 posto svih slučajeva iznenadne smrti. Mnogo je razloga zašto se to ljudima događa. U većini slučajeva uzrok je tjelesni napor seksualne aktivnosti, ili lijekovi na recept (lijekovi za liječenje erektilne disfunkcije, na primjer), ili ilegalni opijati.
Rizik raste s godinama
Rizik od iznenadne srčane smrti raste kako ljudi stare. Javlja se uglavnom kod muškaraca (prosječne dobi 59 godina), a najčešći uzrok bio je srčani udar, poznat i kao infarkt miokarda.
Međutim, nedavno su istraživači sa Sveučilišta u Londonu otkrili da ovaj fenomen nije ograničen samo na sredovječne muškarce. Studija, koja je objavljena u časopisu JAMA Cardiology, istraživala je iznenadnu srčanu smrt u 6847 slučajeva između siječnja 1994. i kolovoza 2020.
Ove smrti obično nisu uzrokovane srčanim udarima, kao što je slučaj kod starijih muškaraca. U polovici slučajeva (53%), srce je bilo strukturno normalno, a uzrok smrti bio je iznenadni abnormalni srčani ritam koji se naziva sindrom iznenadne aritmičke smrti. Disekcija aorte bila je drugi najveći uzrok (12%).
Preostali slučajevi nastaju zbog strukturnih anomalija kao što je kardiomiopatija (bolest srčanog mišića koja otežava srcu pumpanje krvi u ostatak tijela) ili rijetke skupine genetskih stanja poznatih kao kanalopatije.
Promijenjeni srčani ritam može uzrokovati nedostatak kisika (ishemija miokarda) i može dovesti do iznenadnog srčanog zastoja kada srce prestane kucati.
Ova nova studija sugerira da je iznenadna srčana smrt kod ljudi mlađih od 50 godina uglavnom uzrokovana sindromom iznenadne aritmičke smrti ili kardiomiopatijom.
Međutim, niska učestalost smrti u ovim studijama sugerira da je rizik vrlo nizak, čak i kod ljudi s postojećom srčanom bolešću.

Intimni odnosi imaju mnoge blagotvorne fizičke i psihičke učinke na tijelo, uključujući snižavanje visokog krvnog tlaka, poboljšanje imunološkog sustava i bolji san. Nažalost, postoji i njihova tamna strana, koja ponekad može dovesti i do kobnog ishoda, piše blic.rs.
Ljudi ponekad umiru tijekom ili nedugo nakon intimnog odnosa. Srećom, učestalost je iznimno niska i čini 0,6 posto svih slučajeva iznenadne smrti. Mnogo je razloga zašto se to ljudima događa. U većini slučajeva uzrok je tjelesni napor seksualne aktivnosti, ili lijekovi na recept (lijekovi za liječenje erektilne disfunkcije, na primjer), ili ilegalni opijati.
Rizik raste s godinama
Rizik od iznenadne srčane smrti raste kako ljudi stare. Javlja se uglavnom kod muškaraca (prosječne dobi 59 godina), a najčešći uzrok bio je srčani udar, poznat i kao infarkt miokarda.
Međutim, nedavno su istraživači sa Sveučilišta u Londonu otkrili da ovaj fenomen nije ograničen samo na sredovječne muškarce. Studija, koja je objavljena u časopisu JAMA Cardiology, istraživala je iznenadnu srčanu smrt u 6847 slučajeva između siječnja 1994. i kolovoza 2020.
Ove smrti obično nisu uzrokovane srčanim udarima, kao što je slučaj kod starijih muškaraca. U polovici slučajeva (53%), srce je bilo strukturno normalno, a uzrok smrti bio je iznenadni abnormalni srčani ritam koji se naziva sindrom iznenadne aritmičke smrti. Disekcija aorte bila je drugi najveći uzrok (12%).
Preostali slučajevi nastaju zbog strukturnih anomalija kao što je kardiomiopatija (bolest srčanog mišića koja otežava srcu pumpanje krvi u ostatak tijela) ili rijetke skupine genetskih stanja poznatih kao kanalopatije.
Promijenjeni srčani ritam može uzrokovati nedostatak kisika (ishemija miokarda) i može dovesti do iznenadnog srčanog zastoja kada srce prestane kucati.
Ova nova studija sugerira da je iznenadna srčana smrt kod ljudi mlađih od 50 godina uglavnom uzrokovana sindromom iznenadne aritmičke smrti ili kardiomiopatijom.
Međutim, niska učestalost smrti u ovim studijama sugerira da je rizik vrlo nizak, čak i kod ljudi s postojećom srčanom bolešću.
