Možda niste znali, ali čak je i glavu mopa potrebno očistiti s vremena na vrijeme. Postoji trik da zablista kao iz kutije. Mop je sjajan klasik kada je riječ o obavljanju tjedne runde čišćenja. Naoružan kantom vode i deterdžentom, ovaj je alat savršen za uklanjanje prljavštine s tvrdih površina poput podova i pločica. No, jasno je da se i na mopu nakuplja prljavština s vremenom, sve dok u najgorim slučajevima potpuno ne pocrni. Na primjer, pomislimo na one trenutke kada se koristi za čišćenje vanjskih površina kao što je balkon ili u hitnim situacijama kada smo morali obaviti izvanredno čišćenje, piše Dom i dizajn.

Prvi korak kako bi vaš mop ponovno izgledao kao nov je da ga potopite u zdjelu čiste vode s prstohvatom sode bikarbone. Ostavite ga tamo nekoliko sati kako bi soda bikarbona mogla djelovati na tvrdokorne mrlje. Ako to nije dovoljno, kao alternativu možete koristiti sredstvo za izbjeljivanje. Nakon što je to gotovo i sigurni smo da smo obavili dobar dio posla, mop možemo staviti u perilicu rublja. Ovisno o vrsti plastike koju nađete na poleđini, možete se pouzdati u program visoke temperature kako biste osigurali uklanjanje svakog traga prljavštine.

Sada dolazi najteži trenutak. Možda se čini paradoksalno, ali faza sušenja je najvažnija. Jer krpa koja se presporo i nepravilno suši može postati leglo plijesni i bakterija: tada stvarno propada. Rješenje je tada razmrsiti trake tkanine najbolje što možete i, ako imate mogućnost, ostavite krpu na suncu. Zadatak koji će tijekom ljetne sezone sigurno biti lakši. U hladnijim mjesecima, pak, dobro ju je sušiti u blizini izvora topline, bila to peć ili grijalica.
