Umjetna božićna drvca, izumljena 1950-ih i 1960-ih, postala su popularna zbog svoje praktičnosti i dugovječnosti, ali ne nude iste prednosti za mentalno zdravlje kao provođenje vremena uz pravu božićnu jelku, prenio je CNN rezultate velike studije.

Tradicija kićenja božićnih jelki započela je u Njemačkoj u 16. stoljeću i proširila se na druge zemlje tijekom sljedeća tri stoljeća. 

Poznato je da izlaganje prirodnom okruženju smanjuje psihički stres, prema studiji objavljenoj u časopisu Behavioral Sciences. 

"Unošenje malo vanjskog svijeta u zatvoreni prostor pozitivno utječe na nas" - komentirala je rezultate psihologinja Sonja Peterson-Lewis, izvanredna profesorica na sveučilištu Temple u Philadelphiji.

Više studija pokazalo je da šetnja šumom, primjerice, može imati utjecaj na dobrobit osobe. Jedno je istraživanje pokazalo da boravak u šumi smanjuje razinu kortizola, hormona odgovornog za stres. 

Prema studiji objavljenoj u  časopisu International Journal of Environmental Health Research, ljudi još uvijek mogu imati neke od istih prednosti i od sobnih biljaka.

Pravo božićno drvce prati mnoštvo prednosti za mentalno zdravlje, uključujući smanjenje tjeskobe i depresije - objasnio je Charlie Hall, profesor na odjelu hortikulturnih znanosti na Texas A&M University u College Stationu.

"Ljudi imaju tendenciju biti suosjećajni kada brinu o živim biljkama u kući, a naravno i božićna drvca udovoljavaju tim kriterijima", rekao je Hall.

Ako zajedno s voljenim osobama odaberete božićnu jelku, onda su koristi za mentalno zdravlje još veće, dodao je.

Odabir drvca s drugima potiče povezivanje i izlaže vas boravku na otvorenom prostoru, što jača vaše psihičko zdravlje.

Pravo božićno drvce unijet će svježi kisik u zatvoreni prostor i ojačati vaš imuni sustav.

Umjetna stabla prešla su dug put u posljednjih nekoliko desetljeća da bi ona sličnija pravima mogla pružiti neke od prednosti za mentalno zdravlje koje ima pravo stablo, rekao je Hall.

Međutim, ona ne mogu poboljšati vaš imuni sustav, rekao je.

Zimzelena stabla su veliki proizvođači fitoncida, tvari koja povećava aktivnost prirodnih stanica ubojica, rekao je Hall.

Prirodne stanice ubojice bore se protiv virusnih infekcija i dio su našeg imunog sustava, dodao je.

Ipak, smatra Hall, i umjetno stablo je bolje nego nikakvo. Kićenje doma svakako donosi dobrobiti.

Unatoč činjenici da je većina božićnih drvca odrezana kada uđu u naše domove, ljudi još uvijek mogu imati koristi od svojih jelki, kaže Hall.

Putem fotosinteze, drveće proizvodi svježi kisik. "Sve dok su iglice zelene i ima svjetlosti, dolazi do fotosinteze", rekao je Hall.

Zato je važno zalijevati posječeno drvo, dodao je.

Božićna drvca također proizvode miris koji nas može podsjetiti na prošlost.

"Kako oni utječu na nas može ovisiti ne samo o kemijskim svojstvima povezanim s uljima drveća, već i o sjećanjima, ako ih ima, koje povezujemo s tim mirisom", rekla je Peterson-Lewis.

Pravo božićno drvce može ponovno izvući na površinu sjećanja koja su pozitivna ili negativna.

Ako takva sjećanja ne poboljšavaju vaše mentalno blagostanje, Peterson-Lewis je rekla da je u redu izgraditi nove običaje.

Umjetna božićna drvca, izumljena 1950-ih i 1960-ih, postala su popularna zbog svoje praktičnosti i dugovječnosti, ali ne nude iste prednosti za mentalno zdravlje kao provođenje vremena uz pravu božićnu jelku, prenio je CNN rezultate velike studije.

Tradicija kićenja božićnih jelki započela je u Njemačkoj u 16. stoljeću i proširila se na druge zemlje tijekom sljedeća tri stoljeća. 

Poznato je da izlaganje prirodnom okruženju smanjuje psihički stres, prema studiji objavljenoj u časopisu Behavioral Sciences. 

"Unošenje malo vanjskog svijeta u zatvoreni prostor pozitivno utječe na nas" - komentirala je rezultate psihologinja Sonja Peterson-Lewis, izvanredna profesorica na sveučilištu Temple u Philadelphiji.

Više studija pokazalo je da šetnja šumom, primjerice, može imati utjecaj na dobrobit osobe. Jedno je istraživanje pokazalo da boravak u šumi smanjuje razinu kortizola, hormona odgovornog za stres. 

Prema studiji objavljenoj u  časopisu International Journal of Environmental Health Research, ljudi još uvijek mogu imati neke od istih prednosti i od sobnih biljaka.

Pravo božićno drvce prati mnoštvo prednosti za mentalno zdravlje, uključujući smanjenje tjeskobe i depresije - objasnio je Charlie Hall, profesor na odjelu hortikulturnih znanosti na Texas A&M University u College Stationu.

"Ljudi imaju tendenciju biti suosjećajni kada brinu o živim biljkama u kući, a naravno i božićna drvca udovoljavaju tim kriterijima", rekao je Hall.

Ako zajedno s voljenim osobama odaberete božićnu jelku, onda su koristi za mentalno zdravlje još veće, dodao je.

Odabir drvca s drugima potiče povezivanje i izlaže vas boravku na otvorenom prostoru, što jača vaše psihičko zdravlje.

Pravo božićno drvce unijet će svježi kisik u zatvoreni prostor i ojačati vaš imuni sustav.

Umjetna stabla prešla su dug put u posljednjih nekoliko desetljeća da bi ona sličnija pravima mogla pružiti neke od prednosti za mentalno zdravlje koje ima pravo stablo, rekao je Hall.

Međutim, ona ne mogu poboljšati vaš imuni sustav, rekao je.

Zimzelena stabla su veliki proizvođači fitoncida, tvari koja povećava aktivnost prirodnih stanica ubojica, rekao je Hall.

Prirodne stanice ubojice bore se protiv virusnih infekcija i dio su našeg imunog sustava, dodao je.

Ipak, smatra Hall, i umjetno stablo je bolje nego nikakvo. Kićenje doma svakako donosi dobrobiti.

Unatoč činjenici da je većina božićnih drvca odrezana kada uđu u naše domove, ljudi još uvijek mogu imati koristi od svojih jelki, kaže Hall.

Putem fotosinteze, drveće proizvodi svježi kisik. "Sve dok su iglice zelene i ima svjetlosti, dolazi do fotosinteze", rekao je Hall.

Zato je važno zalijevati posječeno drvo, dodao je.

Božićna drvca također proizvode miris koji nas može podsjetiti na prošlost.

"Kako oni utječu na nas može ovisiti ne samo o kemijskim svojstvima povezanim s uljima drveća, već i o sjećanjima, ako ih ima, koje povezujemo s tim mirisom", rekla je Peterson-Lewis.

Pravo božićno drvce može ponovno izvući na površinu sjećanja koja su pozitivna ili negativna.

Ako takva sjećanja ne poboljšavaju vaše mentalno blagostanje, Peterson-Lewis je rekla da je u redu izgraditi nove običaje.
