Nekoć smo svi voljeli vrlo slatke, ljepljive kolače, no u međuvremenu nam se odnos prema šećeru malo promijenio, a svoje su učinili i trendovi, osobito s dolaskom društvenih mreža, pa danas volimo slastice koje spektakularno izgledaju. Starih, dobrih kolača sjetimo se samo kad nas uhvati nostalgija. Evo na primjer sjećate li se tulumbi? Nekoć su nam svima bile lako dostupne jer su se nudile u slastičarnicama, danas ih viđamo tek kad otputujemo preko istočnih granica ili nam u posjet dođe neka starija rođakinja iz tih krajeva. A baš je dobar i jednostavan kolač.
Tulumba je desert od prženog tijesta koij se jede u Egiptu, Turskoj i zemljama na području bivšeg Osmanskog Carstva. Uvijek je dobro natopljen slatkim sirupom to natopljeno sirupom, koji je u pravilu fino začinjen citrusima, ponegdje i orijentalnim začinima.
Tijesto se najprije prži do zlatne boje, a zatim se još vruće prelije sirupom te se jede tek nakon što se ohladilo.Dobro pripremljene tulumbe su hrskave izvana, a mekane iznutra, a tajna njihovog uspjeha je u tome da se sirup skuha na vrijeme, kako bi se dobro ohladio te da se tulumbe u njega ubace čim se izvade iz ulja.

Sastojci:
Tijesto:
250 g brašna
400 ml vode
100 ml ulja
4 jaja
2 žličice šećera
prstohvat soli
ulje za prženje
Sirup
1 kg šećera
600 ml vode
1 limun
Priprema
Zakuhajte vodu, ulje, šećer i sol pa lonac maknite s vatre i dodajte brašno. Miješajte dok se ne dobijete jednolično, tvrdo tijesto pa ga pustite da se hladi 15-ak minuta.
Za to vrijeme izmiksajte jaja pa ih dodajte u tijesto te sve dobro izmiješajte. Miksajte dok ne postane mekano i svilenkasto pa prebacite u slastičarsku špricu ili vrećicu iz koje ćete u dobro zagrijano ulje ispuštati duguljaste komadiće tijesta duge oko 8 centimetara. Kako bi bile ljepše, na slastičarsku vrećicu stavite zvjezdasti nastavak, a kako se ne bi međusobno zalijepile za vrijeme prženja, nemojte ih staviti puno odjednom - pripazite jer narasti će kad se počnu pržiti.
Kad uhvate lijepu bioju sa svih strana izvadite ih pomoću šupljikave žlice i prebacite u sirup te ih ostavite u njemu da stoje dok se ne isprži nova tura. Kad su sve ispržene, prelijte ih ostatkom sirupa, a posudu prekrijte folijom i pospremite u hladnjak.

Nekoć smo svi voljeli vrlo slatke, ljepljive kolače, no u međuvremenu nam se odnos prema šećeru malo promijenio, a svoje su učinili i trendovi, osobito s dolaskom društvenih mreža, pa danas volimo slastice koje spektakularno izgledaju. Starih, dobrih kolača sjetimo se samo kad nas uhvati nostalgija. Evo na primjer sjećate li se tulumbi? Tulumba je desert od prženog tijesta koij se jede u Egiptu, Turskoj i zemljama na području bivšeg Osmanskog Carstva. Uvijek je dobro natopljen slatkim sirupom to natopljeno sirupom, koji je u pravilu fino začinjen citrusima, ponegdje i orijentalnim začinima.
Tijesto se najprije prži do zlatne boje, a zatim se još vruće prelije sirupom te se jede tek nakon što se ohladilo.Dobro pripremljene tulumbe su hrskave izvana, a mekane iznutra, a tajna njihovog uspjeha je u tome da se sirup skuha na vrijeme, kako bi se dobro ohladio te da se tulumbe u njega ubace čim se izvade iz ulja.

Tulumbe
Sastojci:
Tijesto:
250 g brašna
400 ml vode
100 ml ulja
4 jaja
2 žličice šećera
prstohvat soli
ulje za prženje
Sirup
1 kg šećera
600 ml vode
1 limun
Priprema
Zakuhajte vodu, ulje, šećer i sol pa lonac maknite s vatre i dodajte brašno. Miješajte dok se ne dobijete jednolično, tvrdo tijesto pa ga pustite da se hladi 15-ak minuta.
Za to vrijeme izmiksajte jaja pa ih dodajte u tijesto te sve dobro izmiješajte. Miksajte dok ne postane mekano i svilenkasto pa prebacite u slastičarsku špricu ili vrećicu iz koje ćete u dobro zagrijano ulje ispuštati duguljaste komadiće tijesta duge oko 8 centimetara. Kako bi bile ljepše, na slastičarsku vrećicu stavite zvjezdasti nastavak, a kako se ne bi međusobno zalijepile za vrijeme prženja, nemojte ih staviti puno odjednom - pripazite jer narasti će kad se počnu pržiti.
Kad uhvate lijepu bioju sa svih strana izvadite ih pomoću šupljikave žlice i prebacite u sirup te ih ostavite u njemu da stoje dok se ne isprži nova tura. Kad su sve ispržene, prelijte ih ostatkom sirupa, a posudu prekrijte folijom i pospremite u hladnjak.
