Grupa znanstvenika s britanskog sveučilišta u Cardiffu je, nakon provedene studije o ulozi žlijezda slinovnica i limfnih čvorova u replikaciji bolesti Covid-19 pozvala kolege da što prije istraže mogu li fluoridne otopine za ispiranje usne šupljine utjecati na smanjenje prijenosa koronavirusa u ranoj fazi infekcije.

U eksperimentima i ograničenim kliničkim studijama pokazalo se da pojedina sredstva sadrže poznate virucidne spojeve koji učinkovito ciljaju lipide u sličnim 'obloženim' virusima. Koronavirusi spadaju u porodicu tzv. zamotanih virusa, što znači da su obloženi masnim slojem, poznatim kao lipidni dvosloj, piše Independent.

No premda britanski stručnjaci traže hitna istraživanja kako bi se testirala učinkovitost fluoridnih vodica, trenutačno nema pouzdanih kliničkih dokaza koji bi ukazivali na njihovu uspješnost. Kažu da se još ne zna mogu li postojeća sredstva aktivno djelovati protiv lipidne membrane virusa Sars-Cov-2.

U veljači je Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija (WHO) na tvrdnje da bi nas ispiranje usne šupljine fluoridnom otopinom moglo štititi od infekcije koronavirusa odgovorila da "nema takvih dokaza".

"Neki brandovi vodica za ispiranje usne šupljine za nekoliko minuta uspijevaju eliminirati određene mikrobe iz pljuvačke, no to ne znači će vas zaštititi i od infekcije covida-19", bili su jasni iz WHO-a.

Zašto znanstvenici tvrde da bi ispiranje usne šupljine moglo biti učinkovito?

Istraživači sa sveučilišta u Cardiffu su, zajedno s kolegama sa sveučilišta u Nottinghamu, Coloradu, Ottawi, Barceloni i s Instituta Babraham u Cambridgeu, ustanovili da ispiranje usne šupljine ipak uspijeva oštetiti koronavirusnu lipidnu membranu te na taj način vjerojatno smanjiti stopu infekcije.

Profesorica Valerie O’Donnell iz Cardiffa, voditeljica studije, kazala je da su laboratorijski eksperimenti u ograničenim kliničkim studijama pokazali kako neke tekućine za ispiranje usne šupljine sadrže dovoljno poznatih virucidnih spojeva koji učinkovito ciljaju lipide u sličnim zamotanim virusima.

I njezini kolege kažu da ranija istraživanja upućuju na to da agensi, koji se najčešće nalaze u sredstvima za ispiranje usne šupljine mogu narušiti lipidnu (masnu) membranu određenih zamotanih virusa.

Ipak, svi ističu kako se još ne zna može li oštećenje ovoga sloja virusa izazvati njegovu “deaktivaciju” u grlu i kod bolesti Covid-19.

"Stručna literatura koju smo dosad proučili upućuje na to da bi trebalo provesti dodatna istraživanja kako bi se utvrdio potencijal ovih sredstava", pojasnila je O'Donnell.

Autori studije naglašavaju kako se još ne zna hoće li to biti slučaj i sa virusom Sar-Cov-2 te pozivaju da se i dalje slijede upute vlada kada je posrijedi zaštita od širenja koronavirusa.

Dodaju da bi istraživanje moglo obuhvatiti procjenu postojećih, ali i posebno prilagođenih formulacija za ispiranje usne šupljine, najprije u laboratorijskim, a zatim i u kliničkim ispitivanjima.

Grupa znanstvenika s britanskog sveučilišta u Cardiffu je, nakon provedene studije o ulozi žlijezda slinovnica i limfnih čvorova u replikaciji bolesti Covid-19 pozvala kolege da što prije istraže mogu li fluoridne otopine za ispiranje usne šupljine utjecati na smanjenje prijenosa koronavirusa u ranoj fazi infekcije.

U eksperimentima i ograničenim kliničkim studijama pokazalo se da pojedina sredstva sadrže poznate virucidne spojeve koji učinkovito ciljaju lipide u sličnim 'obloženim' virusima. Koronavirusi spadaju u porodicu tzv. zamotanih virusa, što znači da su obloženi masnim slojem, poznatim kao lipidni dvosloj, piše Independent.

No premda britanski stručnjaci traže hitna istraživanja kako bi se testirala učinkovitost fluoridnih vodica, trenutačno nema pouzdanih kliničkih dokaza koji bi ukazivali na njihovu uspješnost. Kažu da se još ne zna mogu li postojeća sredstva aktivno djelovati protiv lipidne membrane virusa Sars-Cov-2.

U veljači je Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija (WHO) na tvrdnje da bi nas ispiranje usne šupljine fluoridnom otopinom moglo štititi od infekcije koronavirusa odgovorila da "nema takvih dokaza".

"Neki brandovi vodica za ispiranje usne šupljine za nekoliko minuta uspijevaju eliminirati određene mikrobe iz pljuvačke, no to ne znači će vas zaštititi i od infekcije covida-19", bili su jasni iz WHO-a.

Zašto znanstvenici tvrde da bi ispiranje usne šupljine moglo biti učinkovito?

Istraživači sa sveučilišta u Cardiffu su, zajedno s kolegama sa sveučilišta u Nottinghamu, Coloradu, Ottawi, Barceloni i s Instituta Babraham u Cambridgeu, ustanovili da ispiranje usne šupljine ipak uspijeva oštetiti koronavirusnu lipidnu membranu te na taj način vjerojatno smanjiti stopu infekcije.

Profesorica Valerie O’Donnell iz Cardiffa, voditeljica studije, kazala je da su laboratorijski eksperimenti u ograničenim kliničkim studijama pokazali kako neke tekućine za ispiranje usne šupljine sadrže dovoljno poznatih virucidnih spojeva koji učinkovito ciljaju lipide u sličnim zamotanim virusima.

I njezini kolege kažu da ranija istraživanja upućuju na to da agensi, koji se najčešće nalaze u sredstvima za ispiranje usne šupljine mogu narušiti lipidnu (masnu) membranu određenih zamotanih virusa.

Ipak, svi ističu kako se još ne zna može li oštećenje ovoga sloja virusa izazvati njegovu “deaktivaciju” u grlu i kod bolesti Covid-19.

"Stručna literatura koju smo dosad proučili upućuje na to da bi trebalo provesti dodatna istraživanja kako bi se utvrdio potencijal ovih sredstava", pojasnila je O'Donnell.

Autori studije naglašavaju kako se još ne zna hoće li to biti slučaj i sa virusom Sar-Cov-2 te pozivaju da se i dalje slijede upute vlada kada je posrijedi zaštita od širenja koronavirusa.

Dodaju da bi istraživanje moglo obuhvatiti procjenu postojećih, ali i posebno prilagođenih formulacija za ispiranje usne šupljine, najprije u laboratorijskim, a zatim i u kliničkim ispitivanjima.

Grupa znanstvenika s britanskog sveučilišta u Cardiffu je, nakon provedene studije o ulozi žlijezda slinovnica i limfnih čvorova u replikaciji bolesti Covid-19 pozvala kolege da što prije istraže mogu li fluoridne otopine za ispiranje usne šupljine utjecati na smanjenje prijenosa koronavirusa u ranoj fazi infekcije.

U eksperimentima i ograničenim kliničkim studijama pokazalo se da pojedina sredstva sadrže poznate virucidne spojeve koji učinkovito ciljaju lipide u sličnim 'obloženim' virusima. Koronavirusi spadaju u porodicu tzv. zamotanih virusa, što znači da su obloženi masnim slojem, poznatim kao lipidni dvosloj, piše Independent.

No premda britanski stručnjaci traže hitna istraživanja kako bi se testirala učinkovitost fluoridnih vodica, trenutačno nema pouzdanih klinič...
