Postoji fama da se o kanabisu ne može biti ovisan, no sve ju više demantira broj ljudi koji traže stručnu pomoć kad se odluče 'dovesti u red' po tom pitanju. Prema procjenama koje iznosi dr. Helen Valerie Curran sa sveučilišta University College London, jedan od deset konzumenata marihuane je ovisan pa kad (i ako) pokuša prestati s pušenjem trave iskusi neugodne simptome odvikavanja poput nesanice, napetosti i razdražljivosti.

Dr. Curran tvrdi da je znatno porastao broj osoba koje su u zadnjih deset godina zatražile pomoć jer same nisu uspjele prestati pušiti kanabis, a to objašnjava sve većim udjelom THC-a u sortama indijske konoplje koje se nude na tržištu. Kako bi se svima koji žele obuzdati takvu naviku olakšale muke, provedeno je testiranje utjecaja ekstrakta konoplje, točnije njenog drugog psihoaktivnog sastojka, cannabidiola ili CBD-a.

Pokazalo se da kapsule CBD-a olakšavaju simptome odvikavanja i pomažu u smanjivanju ukupne količine konzumirane marihuane. Dr. Curran kaže da je ovo ispitivanje pokazalo da CBD smanjuje toksične učinke THC-a.

Ispitanicima, za koje je na početku testa procijenjeno da su jako ovisni, je nakon šest mjeseci uzimanja kapsula sa 400 miligrama CBD-a uspjelo znatno smanjiti konzumaciju, pri čemu su znatno smanjeni i količina i učestalost, što je dokazalo ispitivanje količine THC-a u urinu.  Iskušane su i kapsule od 200 i 600 miligrama, no pokazalo se da je baš ovo prava doza.

Postoji fama da se o kanabisu ne može biti ovisan, no sve ju više demantira broj ljudi koji traže stručnu pomoć kad se odluče 'dovesti u red' po tom pitanju. Prema procjenama koje iznosi dr. Helen Valerie Curran sa sveučilišta University College London, jedan od deset konzumenata marihuane je ovisan pa kad (i ako) pokuša prestati s pušenjem trave iskusi neugodne simptome odvikavanja poput nesanice, napetosti i razdražljivosti.

Dr. Curran tvrdi da je znatno porastao broj osoba koje su u zadnjih deset godina zatražile pomoć jer same nisu uspjele prestati pušiti kanabis, a to objašnjava sve većim udjelom THC-a u sortama indijske konoplje koje se nude na tržištu. Kako bi se svima koji žele obuzdati takvu naviku olakšale muke, provedeno je testiranje utjecaja ekstrakta konoplje, točnije njenog drugog psihoaktivnog sastojka, cannabidiola ili CBD-a.

Pokazalo se da kapsule CBD-a olakšavaju simptome odvikavanja i pomažu u smanjivanju ukupne količine konzumirane marihuane. Dr. Curran kaže da je ovo ispitivanje pokazalo da CBD smanjuje toksične učinke THC-a.

Ispitanicima, za koje je na početku testa procijenjeno da su jako ovisni, je nakon šest mjeseci uzimanja kapsula sa 400 miligrama CBD-a uspjelo znatno smanjiti konzumaciju, pri čemu su znatno smanjeni i količina i učestalost, što je dokazalo ispitivanje količine THC-a u urinu.  Iskušane su i kapsule od 200 i 600 miligrama, no pokazalo se da je baš ovo prava doza.
