Sredovječna populacija koja se pretjerano brine ima povećan rizik od srčanih oboljenja, moždanog udara i dijabetesa tipa 2, pokazalo je istraživanje.
Studija objavljena u časopisu Američke udruge za srce pokazala je da je povećana razina tjeskobe i zabrinutosti kod muškaraca povezana s biološkim procesima koji loše utječu na srce i zdravlje općenito.
Stručnjaci su analizirali podatke o 1561 muškom ispitaniku. Oni su sudjelovali u istraživanju o normativnom starenju kojim se od 1961. godine prati starenje muškaraca u SAD-u. Uzorak je većinski uključivao bijelce koji su 1975. u prosjeku bili stari 53 godine.
Muškarci su na početku istraživanja prošli procjenu neuroticizma i zabrinutosti te je utvrđeno da nisu imali srčane bolesti niti karcinom.
Njihovo se zdravstveno stanje kontroliralo fizičkim pregledima i krvnim pretragama svakih tri do pet godina pa do smrti, ili dok nisu odustali od istraživanja.
U istraživanju je mjereno sedam rizičnih faktora za razvoj kardiometaboličkih bolesti: sistolički (gornji) tlak, dijastolički (donji) tlak, ukupni kolesterol, trigliceridi (masti u krvi), pretilost (određena indeksom tjelesne mase), razina šećera u krvi (natašte) te brzina sedimentacije eritrocita (SE) koja ukazuje na upalu.
Svaki je ispitanik dobio procjenu rizičnosti od oboljenja ovisno o tome koliko je kardiometaboličkih rizičnih faktora imao te koliko su bili ozbiljni.
“Iako je istraživanje provedeno većinom samo na bijelim muškarcima, otkrili smo da je povećana razina tjeskobe i brige u muškaraca povezana s biološkim procesima koji mogu povećati mogućnost oboljevanja od srčanih bolesti i drugih metaboličkih stanja te da je ta povezanost prisutna i puno ranije u životu nego što se pretpostavljalo, tijekom djetinjstva i adolescencije”, kazala je dr. Lewina Lee, vodeća autorica istraživanja i izvanredna profesorica psihijatrije na bostonskom Medicinskom sveučilištu.

“Prisutnost šest ili više visokorizičnih kardiometaboličkih markera ukazuje na veliku vjerojatnost da će pojedinac razviti, ili je već razvio, kardiometaboličku bolest.”
Istraživanje je pokazalo da su od 33. do 65. godine života, ispitanici u prosjeku dobivali po jedan novi visokorizični faktor svakih dest godina.
Osobe s visokom razinom neuroticizma (emocionalne nestabilnosti) imale su veći broj visokorizičnih faktora, dok su oni koji se previše brinu imali 10 posto veću šansu za šest ili više rizičnih faktora koji su utjecali na oboljenja od kardiometaboličkih bolesti.
“Otkrili smo da su muškarci s visokom razinom tjeskobe i brige konzistentno imali veću vjerojatnost od razvoja bolesti nego oni s niskom razinom,” kazala je Lee.
Stručnjaci su kazali da se iz podataka ne može iščitati jesu li ispitanici imali dijagnosticiranu anksioznost, niti mogu li lijekovi smanjiti rizik.
No prema mišljenju doktorice Lee, muškarci mogu smanjiti rizik ako se redovito pregledavaju, uzimaju lijekove za visok tlak te održavaju zdravu tjelesnu težinu.
Dodala je da bi buduća istraživanja trebala istražiti utjecaj brige i tjeskobe na zdravlje žena.

Sredovječna populacija koja se pretjerano brine ima povećan rizik od srčanih oboljenja, moždanog udara i dijabetesa tipa 2, pokazalo je istraživanje.
Studija objavljena u časopisu Američke udruge za srce pokazala je da je povećana razina tjeskobe i zabrinutosti kod muškaraca povezana s biološkim procesima koji loše utječu na srce i zdravlje općenito.
Stručnjaci su analizirali podatke o 1561 muškom ispitaniku. Oni su sudjelovali u istraživanju o normativnom starenju kojim se od 1961. godine prati starenje muškaraca u SAD-u. Uzorak je većinski uključivao bijelce koji su 1975. u prosjeku bili stari 53 godine.
Muškarci su na početku istraživanja prošli procjenu neuroticizma i zabrinutosti te je utvrđeno da nisu imali srčane bolesti niti karcinom.
Njihovo se zdravstveno stanje kontroliralo fizičkim pregledima i krvnim pretragama svakih tri do pet godina pa do smrti, ili dok nisu odustali od istraživanja.
U istraživanju je mjereno sedam rizičnih faktora za razvoj kardiometaboličkih bolesti: sistolički (gornji) tlak, dijastolički (donji) tlak, ukupni kolesterol, trigliceridi (masti u krvi), pretilost (određena indeksom tjelesne mase), razina šećera u krvi (natašte) te brzina sedimentacije eritrocita (SE) koja ukazuje na upalu.

“Iako je istraživanje provedeno većinom samo na bijelim muškarcima, otkrili smo da je povećana razina tjeskobe i brige u muškaraca povezana s biološkim procesima koji mogu povećati mogućnost oboljevanja od srčanih bolesti i drugih metaboličkih stanja te da je ta povezanost prisutna i puno ranije u životu nego što se pretpostavljalo, tijekom djetinjstva i adolescencije”, kazala je dr. Lewina Lee, vodeća autorica istraživanja i izvanredna profesorica psihijatrije na bostonskom Medicinskom sveučilištu.

“Prisutnost šest ili više visokorizičnih kardiometaboličkih markera ukazuje na veliku vjerojatnost da će pojedinac razviti, ili je već razvio, kardiometaboličku bolest.”
Istraživanje je pokazalo da su od 33. do 65. godine života, ispitanici u prosjeku dobivali po jedan novi visokorizični faktor svakih dest godina.
Osobe s visokom razinom neuroticizma (emocionalne nestabilnosti) imale su veći broj visokorizičnih faktora, dok su oni koji se previše brinu imali 10 posto veću šansu za šest ili više rizičnih faktora koji su utjecali na oboljenja od kardiometaboličkih bolesti.
“Otkrili smo da su muškarci s visokom razinom tjeskobe i brige konzistentno imali veću vjerojatnost od razvoja bolesti nego oni s niskom razinom,” kazala je Lee.
Stručnjaci su kazali da se iz podataka ne može iščitati jesu li ispitanici imali dijagnosticiranu anksioznost, niti mogu li lijekovi smanjiti rizik.
No prema mišljenju doktorice Lee, muškarci mogu smanjiti rizik ako se redovito pregledavaju, uzimaju lijekove za visok tlak te održavaju zdravu tjelesnu težinu.
Dodala je da bi buduća istraživanja trebala istražiti utjecaj brige i tjeskobe na zdravlje žena.
