Christiane Amanpour objavila je u ponedjeljak da boluje od raka jajnika i da joj predstoji nekoliko mjeseci kemoterapije, ne otkrivši hoće li se povući s televizije.

"Protekla četiri tjedna bila su turbulentno razdoblje za mene jer mi je, kao i milijunima žena u svijetu, dijagnosticiran rak jajnika", rekla je 63-godišnja voditeljica, te otkrila da je "uspješno bila podvrgnuta kirurškoj operaciji kojom je uklonjen" rak i da joj sada predstoji "nekoliko mjeseci kemoterapije".

Amanpour je rekla da je progovorila o bolesti "u interesu transparentnosti", ali "ponajviše kako bi pozvala sve žene da redovito idu na preglede, osluškuju svoje tijelo i, naravno, paze da se ne zanemare njihove legitimne zdravstvene brige".

Važno rano otkrivanje

Rak jajnika deseti je po učestalosti kod žena i ima najveću stopu smrtnosti među karcinomima, no ako se rano otkrije uspjeh liječenja je vrlo visok.

Primjerice, rak jajnika otkriven u 1. i 2. stadiju liječi se suvremenim metodama vrlo uspješno, pogotovo kod mlađih žena. Obično se u liječenju koristi radikalni kirurški pristup i kemoterapija, rjeđe zračenje, a sve ovisi o vrsti karcinoma.

Od svih karcinoma ima najgore preživljavanje, jer se često otkriva slučajno i u poodmakloj fazi. Većini žena dijagnosticira se kada se rak već proširio, a liječenje je zahtjevnije, agresivnije i manje učinkovito.

Kod starijih žena kod kojih je bolest uznapredovala do 3. ili 4. stupnja mogućnosti uspješnog liječenja su daleko manje, pa je i veća smrtnost, s tim da je rak jajnika i daleko češći kod žena u 60. i 70. godinama, i obično se otkrije slučajno prilikom internističkih pregleda. I to su obično žene koje ne idu na redovite ginekološke preglede.

– Faktori rizika za rak jajnika su reproduktivni i genetski faktor. Ovaj karcinom često se pojavljuje u nekim obiteljima pa su od njega bolovale i majka i baka. Također, žene koje nisu rodile ili su rodile nakon 35. godine života su u većem riziku od karcinoma jajnika jer na njegovo stvaranje utječu promjene u genima BRCA 1 i BRCA 2 – kaže dr. Ana Deković, splitska ginekologinja, ali ističe i podatak da rak jajnika nije u porastu, manje-više ista je statistika godinama.

Problem je što se prvi znakovi pojavljuju relativno kasno; u uznapredovaloj fazi bolesti, u kojoj žene imaju poremećaje u izlučivanju mokraće i fecesa, bolove u trbuhu i povećani trbušni volumen zbog nakupljanja tekućine. Postavljanje dijagnoze zahtijeva niz pretraga.

Obratite pažnju na promjene

Znakovi raka jajnika obično su nekarakteristični, nejasni i slični znakovima mnogih bolesti.

– Kod mlađih žena znak upozorenja mogu biti nepravilni menstrualni ciklusi i izljevi za koje svakako treba razjasniti što im je uzrok – kaže dr. Deković. Osim toga, ženama savjetuje da posebnu pozornost posvete neobjašnjivom umoru, naglom debljanju ili gubitku kilograma, promjenama u probavi, poput zatvora, povećanog volumena trbuha i stalnog osjećaja nadutosti, trajnih bolova u donjem dijelu trbuha, osjećaja brze sitosti nakon prehrane i promjene učestalosti mokrenja.

Godine 2013. organizacije koje rade na polju ginekoloških karcinoma proglasile su 8. svibnja Svjetskim danom raka jajnika. Važno je da se među ženama podigne svijest o ovom opasnom karcinomu, a svjetski dan prilika je za podizanje profila bolesti.

Christiane Amanpour objavila je u ponedjeljak da boluje od raka jajnika i da joj predstoji nekoliko mjeseci kemoterapije, ne otkrivši hoće li se povući s televizije.

"Protekla četiri tjedna bila su turbulentno razdoblje za mene jer mi je, kao i milijunima žena u svijetu, dijagnosticiran rak jajnika", rekla je 63-godišnja voditeljica, te otkrila da je "uspješno bila podvrgnuta kirurškoj operaciji kojom je uklonjen" rak i da joj sada predstoji "nekoliko mjeseci kemoterapije".

Amanpour je rekla da je progovorila o bolesti "u interesu transparentnosti", ali "ponajviše kako bi pozvala sve žene da redovito idu na preglede, osluškuju svoje tijelo i, naravno, paze da se ne zanemare njihove legitimne zdravstvene brige".

Važno rano otkrivanje

Rak jajnika deseti je po učestalosti kod žena i ima najveću stopu smrtnosti među karcinomima, no ako se rano otkrije uspjeh liječenja je vrlo visok.

Primjerice, rak jajnika otkriven u 1. i 2. stadiju liječi se suvremenim metodama vrlo uspješno, pogotovo kod mlađih žena. Obično se u liječenju koristi radikalni kirurški pristup i kemoterapija, rjeđe zračenje, a sve ovisi o vrsti karcinoma.

Od svih karcinoma ima najgore preživljavanje, jer se često otkriva slučajno i u poodmakloj fazi. Većini žena dijagnosticira se kada se rak već proširio, a liječenje je zahtjevnije, agresivnije i manje učinkovito.

Kod starijih žena kod kojih je bolest uznapredovala do 3. ili 4. stupnja mogućnosti uspješnog liječenja su daleko manje, pa je i veća smrtnost, s tim da je rak jajnika i daleko češći kod žena u 60. i 70. godinama, i obično se otkrije slučajno prilikom internističkih pregleda. I to su obično žene koje ne idu na redovite ginekološke preglede.

– Faktori rizika za rak jajnika su reproduktivni i genetski faktor. Ovaj karcinom često se pojavljuje u nekim obiteljima pa su od njega bolovale i majka i baka. Također, žene koje nisu rodile ili su rodile nakon 35. godine života su u većem riziku od karcinoma jajnika jer na njegovo stvaranje utječu promjene u genima BRCA 1 i BRCA 2 – kaže dr. Ana Deković, splitska ginekologinja, ali ističe i podatak da rak jajnika nije u porastu, manje-više ista je statistika godinama.

Problem je što se prvi znakovi pojavljuju relativno kasno; u uznapredovaloj fazi bolesti, u kojoj žene imaju poremećaje u izlučivanju mokraće i fecesa, bolove u trbuhu i povećani trbušni volumen zbog nakupljanja tekućine. Postavljanje dijagnoze zahtijeva niz pretraga.

Obratite pažnju na promjene

Znakovi raka jajnika obično su nekarakteristični, nejasni i slični znakovima mnogih bolesti.

– Kod mlađih žena znak upozorenja mogu biti nepravilni menstrualni ciklusi i izljevi za koje svakako treba razjasniti što im je uzrok – kaže dr. Deković. Osim toga, ženama savjetuje da posebnu pozornost posvete neobjašnjivom umoru, naglom debljanju ili gubitku kilograma, promjenama u probavi, poput zatvora, povećanog volumena trbuha i stalnog osjećaja nadutosti, trajnih bolova u donjem dijelu trbuha, osjećaja brze sitosti nakon prehrane i promjene učestalosti mokrenja.

Godine 2013. organizacije koje rade na polju ginekoloških karcinoma proglasile su 8. svibnja Svjetskim danom raka jajnika. Važno je da se među ženama podigne svijest o ovom opasnom karcinomu, a svjetski dan prilika je za podizanje profila bolesti.
