Znanstvenici kažu da osobe s teškom bolešću desni (periodontitis) teže održavaju pod kontrolom razinu šećera u krvi. Osobe s loše kontroliranim dijabetesom, prema Američkom udruženju stomatologa, mogu imati problema s bolesti desni. Prijašnje istraživanje koje su objavili stručnjaci iz Američkog udruženja stomatologa je pokazalo da osobe oboljele od dijabetesa mogu imati veći rizik za razvoj bolesti desni nego osobe koje ne boluju od dijabetesa, piše Živim.hr.

Ozbiljna infekcija

Bolest desni je ozbiljna infekcija koja se u većini slučajeva može izliječiti. No, ako se ne liječi, može dovesti do nepovratnog gubitka zuba zbog toga što uništava kost koja ih podupire. S obzirom na to da je bolest desni infekcija, vjerojatno će se oboljeli od dijabetesa teže nositi s njom nego osobe koje nemaju dijabetes.

Američko udruženje stomatologa poručuje i da dijabetes, ako nije dobro kontroliran, može usporiti proces cijeljenja rana. To znači da, ako imate dijabetes, može potrajati duže da zacijele rane nakon stomatoloških postupaka kao što su vađenje zuba ili neki kirurški zahvat u usnoj šupljini.

Jedno prijašnje istraživanje je pokazalo i da su osobe s dijabetesom općenito sklonije gubitku zubiju nego oni koji ne boluju od te bolesti. Čak oko 28 posto dijabetičara uključenih u tu studiju ostalo je bez svih svojih zubiju. Problem je vjerojatno u tome što povišena razina šećera u krvi može povećati rizik za razvoj bolesti desni i infekcije.

Stoga je preporuka da biste, čim uočite prve probleme sa svojim zubima, trebali što prije otići stomatologu.

I još jedan preporuka - želite li poboljšati zdravlje desni, prestanite pušiti. Naime, pušenje slabi imunološki sustav te otežava borbu protiv infekcije desni.

U svakom slučaju, najbolji način da držite dijabetes pod kontrolom i spriječite razvoj bolesti desnih jest da držite pod kontrolom razinu šećera u krvi.

Ako ste dijabetičar, vjerojatno imate odgovarajući uređaj kojim možete u vlastitom domu sami kontrolirati razinu šećera u krvi. Iako postoje neke individualne razlike, mjerite li sami razinu šećera, ona bi trebala biti 4 do 7 mmol/l prije jela te ispod 8,5 do 9 mmol/l nakon jela, piše Živim.hr.

Znanstvenici kažu da osobe s teškom bolešću desni (periodontitis) teže održavaju pod kontrolom razinu šećera u krvi. Osobe s loše kontroliranim dijabetesom, prema Američkom udruženju stomatologa, mogu imati problema s bolesti desni. Prijašnje istraživanje koje su objavili stručnjaci iz Američkog udruženja stomatologa je pokazalo da osobe oboljele od dijabetesa mogu imati veći rizik za razvoj bolesti desni nego osobe koje ne boluju od dijabetesa, piše Živim.hr.

Ozbiljna infekcija

Bolest desni je ozbiljna infekcija koja se u većini slučajeva može izliječiti. No, ako se ne liječi, može dovesti do nepovratnog gubitka zuba zbog toga što uništava kost koja ih podupire. S obzirom na to da je bolest desni infekcija, vjerojatno će se oboljeli od dijabetesa teže nositi s njom nego osobe koje nemaju dijabetes.

Američko udruženje stomatologa poručuje i da dijabetes, ako nije dobro kontroliran, može usporiti proces cijeljenja rana. To znači da, ako imate dijabetes, može potrajati duže da zacijele rane nakon stomatoloških postupaka kao što su vađenje zuba ili neki kirurški zahvat u usnoj šupljini.

Jedno prijašnje istraživanje je pokazalo i da su osobe s dijabetesom općenito sklonije gubitku zubiju nego oni koji ne boluju od te bolesti. Čak oko 28 posto dijabetičara uključenih u tu studiju ostalo je bez svih svojih zubiju. Problem je vjerojatno u tome što povišena razina šećera u krvi može povećati rizik za razvoj bolesti desni i infekcije.

Stoga je preporuka da biste, čim uočite prve probleme sa svojim zubima, trebali što prije otići stomatologu.

I još jedan preporuka - želite li poboljšati zdravlje desni, prestanite pušiti. Naime, pušenje slabi imunološki sustav te otežava borbu protiv infekcije desni.

U svakom slučaju, najbolji način da držite dijabetes pod kontrolom i spriječite razvoj bolesti desnih jest da držite pod kontrolom razinu šećera u krvi.

Znanstvenici kažu da osobe s teškom bolešću desni (periodontitis) teže održavaju pod kontrolom razinu šećera u krvi. Osobe s loše kontroliranim dijabetesom, prema Američkom udruženju stomatologa, mogu imati problema s bolesti desni. Prijašnje istraživanje koje su objavili stručnjaci iz Američkog udruženja stomatologa je pokazalo da osobe oboljele od dijabetesa mogu imati veći rizik za razvoj bolesti desni nego osobe koje ne boluju od dijabetesa, piše Živim.hr.

Ozbiljna infekcija

Bolest desni je ozbiljna infekcija koja se u većini slučajeva može izliječiti. No, ako se ne liječi, može dovesti do nepovratnog gubitka zuba zbog toga što uništava kost koja ih podupire.
