Alzheimerova bolest jedna je od glavnih opasnosti povezanih sa starenjem u modernom svijetu. Istina je da rizik od spomenute dijagnoze raste sa starenjem, bez obzira na to koliko zdravo živite, ali to ne znači da ste potpuno bespomoćni. Zdrave prehrambene navike

Istina je da određene skupine nutrijenata mogu biti posebno važne za smanjenje rizika od Alzheimerove bolesti, poput omega-3 masnih kiselina. No, pretjerano fokusiranje na jednu skupinu ili samo na odabrane hranjive tvari nije pretjerano razumno. Mnogo je pametnije pobrinuti se da prehrana općenito bude što zdravija. Uživajte u cjelovitim žitaricama i mahunarkama te puno voća i povrća. Važna je i umjerena količina zdravih masnoća (masline, avokado, orašasti plodovi itd.). S druge strane, preporučuje se smanjiti unos crvenog mesa, šećera i soli.

Briga za mentalnu svježinu

Rizik od Alzheimerove bolesti bit će puno manji ako se brinete da svoj mozak održavate u što boljoj formi. Stručnjaci preporučuju rješavanje križaljki, slaganje slagalica, rješavanje mentalnih zagonetki, igranje šaha, učenje jezika i drugih vještina, čitanje izazovnijih sadržaja itd. Ove vrste aktivnosti osiguravaju dobar trening vašeg mozga, a kao rezultat toga smanjuje se rizik od ozbiljnijih kognitivnih problema.

Ne zanemarujte druženje

Čak i ako ste jako introvertirana osoba, važno je ne zanemariti potpuno druženja ili društvene kontakte. Pronađite društvo ljudi sličnih interesa, uključite se u volonterske aktivnosti itd. Dokazano je da je društvena mreža vrlo važna za zdravo starenje, pa tako i za smanjenje rizika od Alzheimerove bolesti.

Kontakti s bližnjima izvrsna su prilika za aktivno slušanje, što nije korisno samo za održavanje dobrih odnosa, već i za agilnost mozga. U isto vrijeme održavajte svoj mozak u dobroj formi artikulirajući svoje misli. Zatim, tu je i antistresni učinak ugodnog druženja (kronični stres je i faktor rizika za Alzheimerovu bolest).

Prestanak pušenja

Pušenje je povezano s nizom zdravstvenih rizika. Jedna od njih je Alzheimerova bolest ili demencija. Poznato je da pušenje šteti plućima i kardiovaskularnom sustavu, ali s druge strane, mnogi ljudi ne shvaćaju da ovaj porok može biti vrlo opasan i za mozak. Pušenje može dovesti do smanjene funkcionalnosti ili oštećenja krvnih žila u mozgu. Posljedica je slabiji protok krvi u mozgu, što može oslabiti niz kognitivnih funkcija. Što prije prestanete pušiti, to će se vaš mozak lakše oporaviti. Ako se ne možete riješiti ove navike, obratite se liječniku koji vam može pomoći u procesu prestanka pušenja.

Izbjegavanje alkohola

Česta konzumacija alkohola također može biti vrlo opasna za mozak. Stoga ne čudi da je vjerojatnost demencije veća kod osoba koje vrlo često piju alkohol nego kod apstinenata i onih koji alkohol konzumiraju tek povremeno. Gornja granica preporučenog je 14 jedinica alkohola tjedno, a dobro je da jedinice alkohola budu što ravnomjernije raspoređene.

Ako konzumirate puno alkohola u jednom danu ili čak u jednoj večeri, vaš mozak je u kratkom vremenu izložen većoj količini štetnih tvari. Negativne posljedice su tako vrlo izražene, čak i ako ne pijete alkohol druge dane u tjednu. Pametno je voditi evidenciju o tome koliko alkohola pijete, inače ćete brzo izgubiti kontrolu. Osjećaj je često vrlo varljiv.

Zdrave prehrambene navike

Istina je da određene skupine nutrijenata mogu biti posebno važne za smanjenje rizika od Alzheimerove bolesti, poput omega-3 masnih kiselina. No, pretjerano fokusiranje na jednu skupinu ili samo na odabrane hranjive tvari nije pretjerano razumno. Mnogo je pametnije pobrinuti se da prehrana općenito bude što zdravija. Uživajte u cjelovitim žitaricama i mahunarkama te puno voća i povrća. Važna je i umjerena količina zdravih masnoća (masline, avokado, orašasti plodovi itd.). S druge strane, preporučuje se smanjiti unos crvenog mesa, šećera i soli.

Briga za mentalnu svježinu

Rizik od Alzheimerove bolesti bit će puno manji ako se brinete da svoj mozak održavate u što boljoj formi. Stručnjaci preporučuju rješavanje križaljki, slaganje slagalica, rješavanje mentalnih zagonetki, igranje šaha, učenje jezika i drugih vještina, čitanje izazovnijih sadržaja itd. Ove vrste aktivnosti osiguravaju dobar trening vašeg mozga, a kao rezultat toga smanjuje se rizik od ozbiljnijih kognitivnih problema.

Ne zanemarujte druženje

Čak i ako ste jako introvertirana osoba, važno je ne zanemariti potpuno druženja ili društvene kontakte. Pronađite društvo ljudi sličnih interesa, uključite se u volonterske aktivnosti itd. Dokazano je da je društvena mreža vrlo važna za zdravo starenje, pa tako i za smanjenje rizika od Alzheimerove bolesti.

Kontakti s bližnjima izvrsna su prilika za aktivno slušanje, što nije korisno samo za održavanje dobrih odnosa, već i za agilnost mozga. U isto vrijeme održavajte svoj mozak u dobroj formi artikulirajući svoje misli. Zatim, tu je i antistresni učinak ugodnog druženja (kronični stres je i faktor rizika za Alzheimerovu bolest).

Prestanak pušenja

Pušenje je povezano s nizom zdravstvenih rizika. Jedna od njih je Alzheimerova bolest ili demencija. Poznato je da pušenje šteti plućima i kardiovaskularnom sustavu, ali s druge strane, mnogi ljudi ne shvaćaju da ovaj porok može biti vrlo opasan i za mozak. Pušenje može dovesti do smanjene funkcionalnosti ili oštećenja krvnih žila u mozgu. Posljedica je slabiji protok krvi u mozgu, što može oslabiti niz kognitivnih funkcija. Što prije prestanete pušiti, to će se vaš mozak lakše oporaviti. Ako se ne možete riješiti ove navike, obratite se liječniku koji vam može pomoći u procesu prestanka pušenja.

Izbjegavanje alkohola

Česta konzumacija alkohola također može biti vrlo opasna za mozak. Stoga ne čudi da je vjerojatnost demencije veća kod osoba koje vrlo često piju alkohol nego kod apstinenata i onih koji alkohol konzumiraju tek povremeno. Gornja granica preporučenog je 14 jedinica alkohola tjedno, a dobro je da jedinice alkohola budu što ravnomjernije raspoređene.

Ako konzumirate puno alkohola u jednom danu ili čak u jednoj večeri, vaš mozak je u kratkom vremenu izložen većoj količini štetnih tvari. Negativne posljedice su tako vrlo izražene, čak i ako ne pijete alkohol druge dane u tjednu. Pametno je voditi evidenciju o tome koliko alkohola pijete, inače ćete brzo izgubiti kontrolu. Osjećaj je često vrlo varljiv.
