Studija parova u kojima su oba partnera bila izložena koronavirusu, ali je samo jedna osoba zaražena pomaže u rasvjetljavanju zašto su neki ljudi prirodno otporni na virus.

Znanstvenici su vjerovali da su takvi slučajevi rijetki, ali poziv volonterima koji odgovaraju tom profilu rezultirao je odazivom otprilike tisuću parova.

U konačnici su uzeli uzorke krvi 86 parova radi detaljne analize.

Rezultati ukazuju na to da rezistentni partneri češće imaju gene koji doprinose učinkovitijoj aktivaciji takozvanih stanica prirodnih ubojica (NK), koje su dio početnog odgovora imunosnog sustava na klice.

Kad se NK-ovi ispravno aktiviraju, oni mogu prepoznati i uništiti zaražene stanice, sprječavajući razvoj bolesti, objasnili su znanstvenici u radu objavljenom u časopisu Frontiers in Immunology.

"Naša hipoteza je da genomske varijante koje se najčešće nalaze u supružnika podložnog infekciji dovode do proizvodnje molekula koje inhibiraju aktivaciju NK", rekla je voditeljica studije Mayana Zatz sa Sveučilišta Sao Paulo u Brazilu.

No, ova studija ne može dokazati da se to događa, dodala je.

Čak i ako se taj zaključak potvrdi s više istraživanja, trebao bi se istražiti i doprinos odnosno utjecaj drugih imunosnih mehanizama, rekli su znanstvenici.

Studija parova u kojima su oba partnera bila izložena koronavirusu, ali je samo jedna osoba zaražena pomaže u rasvjetljavanju zašto su neki ljudi prirodno otporni na virus.

Znanstvenici su vjerovali da su takvi slučajevi rijetki, ali poziv volonterima koji odgovaraju tom profilu rezultirao je odazivom otprilike tisuću parova.

U konačnici su uzeli uzorke krvi 86 parova radi detaljne analize.

Rezultati ukazuju na to da rezistentni partneri češće imaju gene koji doprinose učinkovitijoj aktivaciji takozvanih stanica prirodnih ubojica (NK), koje su dio početnog odgovora imunosnog sustava na klice.

Kad se NK-ovi ispravno aktiviraju, oni mogu prepoznati i uništiti zaražene stanice, sprječavajući razvoj bolesti, objasnili su znanstvenici u radu objavljenom u časopisu Frontiers in Immunology.

"Naša hipoteza je da genomske varijante koje se najčešće nalaze u supružnika podložnog infekciji dovode do proizvodnje molekula koje inhibiraju aktivaciju NK", rekla je voditeljica studije Mayana Zatz sa Sveučilišta Sao Paulo u Brazilu.

No, ova studija ne može dokazati da se to događa, dodala je.

Čak i ako se taj zaključak potvrdi s više istraživanja, trebao bi se istražiti i doprinos odnosno utjecaj drugih imunosnih mehanizama, rekli su znanstvenici.

Studija parova u kojima su oba partnera bila izložena koronavirusu, ali je samo jedna osoba zaražena pomaže u rasvjetljavanju zašto su neki ljudi prirodno otporni na virus.

Znanstvenici su vjerovali da su takvi slučajevi rijetki, ali poziv volonterima koji odgovaraju tom profilu rezultirao je odazivom otprilike tisuću parova.

U konačnici su uzeli uzorke krvi 86 parova radi detaljne analize.

Rezultati ukazuju na to da rezistentni partneri češće imaju gene koji doprinose učinkovitijoj aktivaciji takozvanih stanica prirodnih ubojica (NK), koje su dio početnog odgovora imunosnog sustava na klice.

Kad se NK-ovi ispravno aktiviraju, oni mogu prepoznati i uništiti zaražene stanice, sprječavajući razvoj bolesti, objasnili su znanstvenici u radu objavljenom u časopisu Frontiers in I...
