Nedavnim istraživanjem hrane bogate proteinima, uključujući plodove mora, svinjetinu, piletinu, govedinu i tofu, otkriveno je da se mikroplastika nalazi u gotovo 90 posto uzoraka, prenosi Yahoo.

Istraživači iz Ocean Conservancyja i Sveučilišta u Torontu analizirali su desetak različitih izvora proteina i procijenili da prosječni odrasli Amerikanac u sebe unese najmanje 11.000 komada mikroplastike svake godine. Najviše mikroplastike pronađeno je u porciji pohanih škampa, a slijede je porcije biljnih i pilećih nuggetsa. Najmanje mikroplastike imala su pileća prsa, lungić i tofu, piše Jutarnji list.

Prerađeni proizvodi poput pohanih škampa i pilećih nuggetsa sadrže znatno više čestica mikroplastike po gramu, istraživači su sugerirali da bi izvor kontaminacije mogla biti obrada hrane.

Ovo istraživanje pridodaje sve većem broju dokaza o rasprostranjenosti mikroplastike u prirodnom okolišu i našim tijelima. Do sad je mikroplastika pronađena u vodi, voću, povrću, soli, šećeru, riži, mlijeku i pivu. Jedno od istraživanja pokazalo je da prosječna odrasla osoba godišnje u sebe unese 2000 komada mikroplastike samo putem soli.

Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija nedavno je objavila izvješće sa sažetkom istraživanja o utjecaju mikroplastike na zdravlje. Međutim, tvrde da je još prerano za donošenje bilo kakvih stvarnih zaključaka.

- Iako još uvijek ne znamo koje su posljedice po ljudsko zdravlje, ako ih uopće ima, moramo situaciju shvatiti ozbiljno jer je ovo problem koji ne nestaje sam od sebe. Što više plastike koristimo i bacamo, to će situacija biti lošija, rekao je George Leonard, jedan od autora studije i glavni znanstvenik u Ocean Conservancyju za The Washington Post.

Dodaje da ne postoji način da se zaštitimo od mikroplastike ako konzumiramo bilo kakvu hranu. Stručnjaci objašnjavaju kako će se mikroplastika zadržavati u okolišu ako ljudi nastave s korištenjem plastike koja je dizajnirana da traje.

- Dizajnirali smo te materijale da budu postojani stoljećima, ako ne i tisućljećima, pa se to može smatrati greškom u dizajnu, rekao je Paul Anastas, direktor Centra za zelenu kemiju i zeleni inženjering na Sveučilištu Yale.

U međuvremenu ekološki prihvatljivije alternative dobivaju na snazi. To uključuje materijale izrađene od recikliranih morskih trava i algi. Znanstvenici su također otkrili kako pomoću voštanih crva i gljivica razgraditi plastiku prije nego se razvije problem.

Nedavnim istraživanjem hrane bogate proteinima, uključujući plodove mora, svinjetinu, piletinu, govedinu i tofu, otkriveno je da se mikroplastika nalazi u gotovo 90 posto uzoraka, prenosi Yahoo.

Istraživači iz Ocean Conservancyja i Sveučilišta u Torontu analizirali su desetak različitih izvora proteina i procijenili da prosječni odrasli Amerikanac u sebe unese najmanje 11.000 komada mikroplastike svake godine. Prerađeni proizvodi poput pohanih škampa i pilećih nuggetsa sadrže znatno više čestica mikroplastike po gramu, istraživači su sugerirali da bi izvor kontaminacije mogla biti obrada hrane.

Ovo istraživanje pridodaje sve većem broju dokaza o rasprostranjenosti mikroplastike u prirodnom okolišu i našim tijelima. Do sad je mikroplastika pronađena u vodi, voću, povrću, soli, šećeru, riži, mlijeku i pivu. Jedno od istraživanja pokazalo je da prosječna odrasla osoba godišnje u sebe unese 2000 komada mikroplastike samo putem soli.

Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija nedavno je objavila izvješće sa sažetkom istraživanja o utjecaju mikroplastike na zdravlje. Međutim, tvrde da je još prerano za donošenje bilo kakvih stvarnih zaključaka.

- Iako još uvijek ne znamo koje su posljedice po ljudsko zdravlje, ako ih uopće ima, moramo situaciju shvatiti ozbiljno jer je ovo problem koji ne nestaje sam od sebe. Što više plastike koristimo i bacamo, to će situacija biti lošija, rekao je George Leonard, jedan od autora studije i glavni znanstvenik u Ocean Conservancyju za The Washington Post.

Dodaje da ne postoji način da se zaštitimo od mikroplastike ako konzumiramo bilo kakvu hranu. Stručnjaci objašnjavaju kako će se mikroplastika zadržavati u okolišu ako ljudi nastave s korištenjem plastike koja je dizajnirana da traje.

- Dizajnirali smo te materijale da budu postojani stoljećima, ako ne i tisućljećima, pa se to može smatrati greškom u dizajnu, rekao je Paul Anastas, direktor Centra za zelenu kemiju i zeleni inženjering na Sveučilištu Yale.

U međuvremenu ekološki prihvatljivije alternative dobivaju na snazi. To uključuje materijale izrađene od recikliranih morskih trava i algi. Znanstvenici su također otkrili kako pomoću voštanih crva i gljivica razgraditi plastiku prije nego se razvije problem.

Nedavnim istraživanjem hrane bogate proteinima, uključujući plodove mora, svinjetinu, piletinu, govedinu i tofu, otkriveno je da se mikroplastika nalazi u gotovo 90 posto uzoraka, prenosi Yahoo.

Istraživači iz Ocean Conservancyja i Sveučilišta u Torontu analizirali su desetak različitih izvora proteina i procijenili da prosječni odrasli Amerikanac u sebe unese najmanje 11.000 komada mikroplastike svake godine. Najviše mikroplastike pronađeno je u porciji pohanih škampa, a slijede je porcije biljnih i pilećih nuggetsa. Najmanje mikroplastike imala su pileća prsa, lungić i tofu, piše Jutarnji list.
