Za muškarce ona glasi: 66,5 + (13,75 x masa u kg) + (5,003 x visina u cm) - (6,755 x godine). Za žene: 655,1 + (9,563 x masa u kg) + (1,850 x visina u cm) - (4,676 x godine). Rezultatu se dodaje i vrijednost za životni stil. Rezultat jednadžbe treba pomnožiti sa 1,2 za sjedilački život, sa 1,375 za blagu aktivnost, sa 1,55 za srednju aktivnost, sa 1,725 za visoku te sa 1,90 za ekstremnu aktivnost.

Preporučeni unos

Općenito, preporučeni dnevni kalorijski iznos za odraslu ženu koja živi sjedilački iznosi od 1800 do 2000 kcal, a za neaktivnog odraslog muškarca od 2000 do 2200 kcal.

Indeks tjelesne mase

Drugi pokazatelj je indeks tjelesne mase.

ITM je metoda mjerenja masnog tkiva (sala) na temelju visine i težine. Računa se tako da se težina u kilogramima podijeli s visinom izraženom u metrima na kvadrat.

Drugi pokazatelj je indeks tjelesne mase.

ITM je metoda mjerenja masnog tkiva (sala) na temelju visine i težine. Računa se tako da se težina u kilogramima podijeli s visinom izraženom u metrima na kvadrat.

Za muškarce i žene

Za muškarce ona glasi: 66,5 + (13,75 x masa u kg) + (5,003 x visina u cm) - (6,755 x godine). Za žene: 655,1 + (9,563 x masa u kg) + (1,850 x visina u cm) - (4,676 x godine). Rezultatu se dodaje i vrijednost za životni stil. Rezultat jednadžbe treba pomnožiti sa 1,2 za sjedilački život, sa 1,375 za blagu aktivnost, sa 1,55 za srednju aktivnost, sa 1,725 za visoku te sa 1,90 za ekstremnu aktivnost.

Primjer za ženu od 40 godina, tjelesne mase 70 kg i visoku 175 cm koja živi uglavnom sjedilački: 655,1 + (9,563 x 70) + (1,850 x 175) – (4,676 x 40) = 1461,22 kcal x 1,2 = 1753,464 kcalP
