CNN-ova voditeljica Sara Sidner (51) objavila je uživo na TV-u da joj je dijagnosticiran rak dojke trećeg stupnja i da je već u drugom mjesecu kemoterapije.

"Samo odvojite sekundu da se prisjetite imena osam žena koje volite i poznajete u svom životu. Samo ih prebrojite na prste", reklo je Sidner.

"Statistički, jedna od njih će dobiti ili ima rak dojke. Ja sam ta jedna od osam u mojoj grupi prijatelja."

“Nikada u životu nisam bila bolestna. Ne pušim, rijetko pijem,” rekla je Sidner u ponedjeljak na “CNN News Central”, emisiji u kojoj je suvoditeljica.

"Rak dojke nije prisutan u mojoj obitelji, a ipak, evo me s rakom dojke u trećem stupnju. Teško je to reći naglas”, podijelila je u eteru. 

Sara Sidner, koja će morati biti podvrgnuta zračenju i dvostrukoj mastektomiji, zadržala je pozitivan stav o životu, govoreći gledateljima da rak dojke "više nije smrtna presuda za većinu žena".

Novinarka je podsjetila svoje gledateljice, posebno crne žene, da uvijek idu na mamografije.

"Ako ste slučajno crnkinja, 41 posto je veća vjerojatnost da ćete umrijeti od raka dojke od svojih bijelih kolegica. Četrdeset i jedan posto‘, podijelila je Sidner.

"Stoga svim mojim sestrama, crnim, bijelim i smeđim, molim vas, za ljubav Božju, idite na mamografiju svake godine", rekla je.

"Napravite samopregled, pokušajte to otkriti prije mene."

Sidner je rekla da je zahvalna što je rak "izabrao mene" jer je zbog toga promijenila svoj pogled na život.

“Učim da bez obzira na to kroz kakav pakao prolazimo u životu, ja sam još uvijek ludo zaljubljena u ovaj život, i to što sam živa sada mi se čini drugačije”, dodala je.

Sidner je također rekla za časopis People da je liječenje donekle utjecalo na njezin svakodnevni život.

“Umorna sam i sporija sam i moram više razmišljati o tome kako se brinuti o sebi”, priznala je.

“Ne govorim o svojim osobnim stvari tako često, ali mogu učiniti nešto za nekoga jer imam rak. Mogu nekoga upozoriti", rekla je, dodajući da "voli živjeti" jer život "zna biti kratak".

“Ne znam kako će ovo završiti... ali imamo sposobnost osjećati radost u bilo kojem trenutku dokle god dišemo”, rekla je Sara Sidner.

Kad je Sara Sidner u listopadu prošle godine otputovala u Izrael kako bi izviještavala o ratu, saznala je da zbog rezultata mamografije mora nakon povratka u SAD obaviti biopsiju. Provela je tri tjedna u ratnoj zoni s osjećajem straha čekajući povratak kući.

Nekoliko dana nakon povratka u New York  biopsija je potvrdila da je kvržica koju je prvi put primijetila mjesecima ranije kancerogena i da je već napredovala do 3. faze. "Kad sam dobila vijest, nisam nikome rekla, čak ni majci ili suprugu ili sestrama ili prijateljima", prisjeća se.

Razmišljajući o najgorem scenariju u svojoj glavi, Sidner je odmah počela gledati na dijagnozu kao o kraju života. "Prvo čega sam se sjetila bilo je: ‘Bolje počni pisati pisma ljudima koje voliš jer nećeš biti ovdje‘", kaže kroz suze. "Tako sam počela pisati jednu mami, koja se borila s vlastitom zdravstvenom situacijom."

Nakon što se nekoliko dana osjećala bespomoćno, Sidner je shvatila da - s mjesecima liječenja pred njom - još ne može odustati. "Upravo sam donijela odluku. Ja sam kao, ‘Ne, ti ćeš živjeti i ti ćeš zaustaviti ovo i ti ćeš učiniti sve da preživiš ovo. Točka.‘ I bila sam puno sretnija u svom životu od ... Mislim sretnija nego što sam bio prije raka."

CNN-ova voditeljica Sara Sidner (51) objavila je uživo na TV-u da joj je dijagnosticiran rak dojke trećeg stupnja i da je već u drugom mjesecu kemoterapije.

"Samo odvojite sekundu da se prisjetite imena osam žena koje volite i poznajete u svom životu. Samo ih prebrojite na prste", reklo je Sidner.

"Statistički, jedna od njih će dobiti ili ima rak dojke. Ja sam ta jedna od osam u mojoj grupi prijatelja."

“Nikada u životu nisam bila bolestna. Ne pušim, rijetko pijem,” rekla je Sidner u ponedjeljak na “CNN News Central”, emisiji u kojoj je suvoditeljica.

"Rak dojke nije prisutan u mojoj obitelji, a ipak, evo me s rakom dojke u trećem stupnju. Teško je to reći naglas”, podijelila je u eteru. 

Sara Sidner, koja će morati biti podvrgnuta zračenju i dvostrukoj mastektomiji, zadržala je pozitivan stav o životu, govoreći gledateljima da rak dojke "više nije smrtna presuda za većinu žena".

Novinarka je podsjetila svoje gledateljice, posebno crne žene, da uvijek idu na mamografije.

"Ako ste slučajno crnkinja, 41 posto je veća vjerojatnost da ćete umrijeti od raka dojke od svojih bijelih kolegica. Četrdeset i jedan posto‘, podijelila je Sidner.

"Stoga svim mojim sestrama, crnim, bijelim i smeđim, molim vas, za ljubav Božju, idite na mamografiju svake godine", rekla je.

"Napravite samopregled, pokušajte to otkriti prije mene."

Sidner je rekla da je zahvalna što je rak "izabrao mene" jer je zbog toga promijenila svoj pogled na život.

“Učim da bez obzira na to kroz kakav pakao prolazimo u životu, ja sam još uvijek ludo zaljubljena u ovaj život, i to što sam živa sada mi se čini drugačije”, dodala je.

Sidner je također rekla za časopis People da je liječenje donekle utjecalo na njezin svakodnevni život.

“Umorna sam i sporija sam i moram više razmišljati o tome kako se brinuti o sebi”, priznala je.

“Ne govorim o svojim osobnim stvari tako često, ali mogu učiniti nešto za nekoga jer imam rak. Mogu nekoga upozoriti", rekla je, dodajući da "voli živjeti" jer život "zna biti kratak".

“Ne znam kako će ovo završiti... ali imamo sposobnost osjećati radost u bilo kojem trenutku dokle god dišemo”, rekla je Sara Sidner.

Kad je Sara Sidner u listopadu prošle godine otputovala u Izrael kako bi izviještavala o ratu, saznala je da zbog rezultata mamografije mora nakon povratka u SAD obaviti biopsiju. Provela je tri tjedna u ratnoj zoni s osjećajem straha čekajući povratak kući.

Nekoliko dana nakon povratka u New York  biopsija je potvrdila da je kvržica koju je prvi put primijetila mjesecima ranije kancerogena i da je već napredovala do 3. faze. "Kad sam dobila vijest, nisam nikome rekla, čak ni majci ili suprugu ili sestrama ili prijateljima", prisjeća se.

Razmišljajući o najgorem scenariju u svojoj glavi, Sidner je odmah počela gledati na dijagnozu kao o kraju života. "Prvo čega sam se sjetila bilo je: ‘Bolje počni pisati pisma ljudima koje voliš jer nećeš biti ovdje‘", kaže kroz suze. "Tako sam počela pisati jednu mami, koja se borila s vlastitom zdravstvenom situacijom."

Nakon što se nekoliko dana osjećala bespomoćno, Sidner je shvatila da - s mjesecima liječenja pred njom - još ne može odustati. "Upravo sam donijela odluku. Ja sam kao, ‘Ne, ti ćeš živjeti i ti ćeš zaustaviti ovo i ti ćeš učiniti sve da preživiš ovo. Točka.‘ I bila sam puno sretnija u svom životu od ... Mislim sretnija nego što sam bio prije raka."
