Novi soj "supergonoreje" (XDR) otporan na većinu antibiotika mogao bi postati ozbiljan javnozdravstveni problem, upozoravaju znanstvenici u case study (analiza slučaja) objavljenom u časopisu Eurosurvelliance koji izdaje Europski centar za sprečavanje i kontrolu bolesti (ECDC).

U studiji se opisuje slučaj jednog 50-godišnjeg Austrijanca koji je u travnju boravio u Kambodži te imao seksualni odnos bez kondoma s prostitutkom. Pet dana kasnije osjetio je bol tijekom mokrenja i imao je iscjedak iz penisa te se obratio liječniku, piše Jutarnji list.

Pokazalo se da je zaražen sojem "supergonoreje" visoko otpornim na većinu antibiotika koji se obično koriste u liječenju te spolne bolesti. Muškarac je u početku bio liječen antibioticima azitromicinom (sumamed) i ceftriaksonom. Dva tjedna kasnije njegovi simptomi su se povukli, ali bris iz njegova penisa pokazao je da još uvijek ima gonoreju.

Gonoreja, kapavac ili triper jedna je od najčešćih spolnih bolesti. Prema procjenama Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije (WHO) godišnje se gonorejom zarazi oko 98 milijuna ljudi diljem svijeta. Njezin je uzročnik bakterija Neisseria gonorrhoeae, a bolest najčešće zahvaća mokraćne i spolne organe.

Kod oralnog spolnog odnosa infekcija zahvaća grlo, a kod analnog zadnje crijevo. Simptomi uključuju iscjedak i bol mokrenja, bol u testisima ili nepravilno vaginalno krvarenje. Gonoreja se najčešće javlja u mladoj populaciji, a u slučaju neliječenja može dovesti do neplodnosti.

Od četrdesetih godina prošlog stoljeća, kada su antibiotici postali standardni tretman u liječenju gonoreje, bakterija Neisseria gonorrhoeae postupno je počela razvijati otpornost na antibiotike. Zadnjih desetak godina znanstvenici bilježe pojavu novih sojeva otpornih i na cefalosporina, skupinu antibiotika sličnih penicilinu, koji su dosad bili učinkoviti u liječenju gonoreje.

Novi soj "supergonoreje " XDR (Extensively drug-resistant) detektiran je prvi put 2018. godine u Velikoj Britaniji i Australiji. Ti su slučajevi bili povezani s boravkom zaraženih osoba u jugoistočnoj Aziji, gdje su osobe imale seksualne odnose bez kondoma s prostitutkama. Stoga liječnici kao prevenciju protiv "supergonoreje", ali i ostalih spolnih bolesti savjetuju korištenje kondoma tijekom spolnog odnosa s nepoznatim partnerima ili seksualnim djelatnicama i djelatnicima.

Autori studije u Eurosurvellience, koju je vodio jedan od vodećih svjetskih stručnjaka za gonoreju dr. Magnus Unemo iz Sveučilišne bolnice Örebro u Švedskoj, ukazuju i na obećavajuće rezultate dva nova eksperimentalna lijeka, lefamulin i zoliflodacin. Ova dva lijeka su u završnoj fazi kliničkog ispitivanja i smatra se da bi mogli biti učinkovita protiv novog soja, piše Jutarnji list.

Novi soj "supergonoreje" (XDR) otporan na većinu antibiotika mogao bi postati ozbiljan javnozdravstveni problem, upozoravaju znanstvenici u case study (analiza slučaja) objavljenom u časopisu Eurosurvelliance koji izdaje Europski centar za sprečavanje i kontrolu bolesti (ECDC).

U studiji se opisuje slučaj jednog 50-godišnjeg Austrijanca koji je u travnju boravio u Kambodži te imao seksualni odnos bez kondoma s prostitutkom. Pet dana kasnije osjetio je bol tijekom mokrenja i imao je iscjedak iz penisa te se obratio liječniku, piše Jutarnji list.

Pokazalo se da je zaražen sojem "supergonoreje" visoko otpornim na većinu antibiotika koji se obično koriste u liječenju te spolne bolesti. Muškarac je u početku bio liječen antibioticima azitromicinom (sumamed) i ceftriaksonom. Dva tjedna kasnije njegovi simptomi su se povukli, ali bris iz njegova penisa pokazao je da još uvijek ima gonoreju.

Gonoreja, kapavac ili triper jedna je od najčešćih spolnih bolesti. Prema procjenama Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije (WHO) godišnje se gonorejom zarazi oko 98 milijuna ljudi diljem svijeta. Njezin je uzročnik bakterija Neisseria gonorrhoeae, a bolest najčešće zahvaća mokraćne i spolne organe.

Kod oralnog spolnog odnosa infekcija zahvaća grlo, a kod analnog zadnje crijevo. Simptomi uključuju iscjedak i bol mokrenja, bol u testisima ili nepravilno vaginalno krvarenje. Gonoreja se najčešće javlja u mladoj populaciji, a u slučaju neliječenja može dovesti do neplodnosti.

Od četrdesetih godina prošlog stoljeća, kada su antibiotici postali standardni tretman u liječenju gonoreje, bakterija Neisseria gonorrhoeae postupno je počela razvijati otpornost na antibiotike. Zadnjih desetak godina znanstvenici bilježe pojavu novih sojeva otpornih i na cefalosporina, skupinu antibiotika sličnih penicilinu, koji su dosad bili učinkoviti u liječenju gonoreje.

Novi soj "supergonoreje " XDR (Extensively drug-resistant) detektiran je prvi put 2018. godine u Velikoj Britaniji i Australiji. Ti su slučajevi bili povezani s boravkom zaraženih osoba u jugoistočnoj Aziji, gdje su osobe imale seksualne odnose bez kondoma s prostitutkama. Stoga liječnici kao prevenciju protiv "supergonoreje", ali i ostalih spolnih bolesti savjetuju korištenje kondoma tijekom spolnog odnosa s nepoznatim partnerima ili seksualnim djelatnicama i djelatnicima.

Autori studije u Eurosurvellience, koju je vodio jedan od vodećih svjetskih stručnjaka za gonoreju dr. Magnus Unemo iz Sveučilišne bolnice Örebro u Švedskoj, ukazuju i na obećavajuće rezultate dva nova eksperimentalna lijeka, lefamulin i zoliflodacin. Ova dva lijeka su u završnoj fazi kliničkog ispitivanja i smatra se da bi mogli biti učinkovita protiv novog soja, piše Jutarnji list.
