"Bila je najtalentiranija glumica koju sam upoznala u svom životu. No njezina krhkost, silina emocija, jedna nesretna ljubav i heroin odvojili su je zauvijek od svih nas. Edita je bila na rubu života i drago mi je što je pronašla put da se tome otrgne i nastavi živjeti.
Upoznala sam je dok je bila epizodistica s angažmanom u Gavelli, nitko je nije primjećivao. Dala sam joj veliku glavnu ulogu u predstavi 'Gorki, gorki mjesec' u ITD-u.
Doživjela je dvije nesretne ljubavi
Kad je pisac romana Pascal Brucner, po kojem je nastao kazališni komad, vidio predstavu, rekao je da je to puno bolje od filma koji je po romanu napravio Roman Polanski..." - ispričala je Mani Gotovac, gostujući na književnoj večeri "Ženske priče", o splitskoj glumici koja je prije 11 godina napustila kazališne daske i otišla u sestre karmelićanke, te u Španjolskoj postala redovnica koja će do kraja života živjeti među zidinama najstrožeg samostana.

"Bila je osoba koja se potpuno posvećivala teatru, ali i ljubavi. Doživjela je dvije nesretne ljubavi. Nije izdržala ni ljubav prema teatru, ni ovu drugu. Sve je počelo našim 'Gorkim mjesecom' kada je paralelno živjela jednu nesretnu ljubav. Tu je započela njezina priča s heroinom.
Toliko talenta, duše, znanja...
Ja sam svjedočila svemu. Naša priča se nastavlja kad je vodim u Split da zajedno radimo 'Antigonu'. U to vrijeme prekinula je tu svoju ljubavnu vezu i teško, vrlo teško to podnosila. Mislila sam da neće izdržati; radila je na predstavi svaki dan i bila na rubu ponora.
Bojala sam se za nju, bojala sam se i da će izvršiti samoubojstvo. Svi smo bili jako ustrašeni za nju – što će biti s tom djevojkom koja ima toliko talenta, koja ima toliku dušu, toliko znanja... Izvela je Antigonu i nakon toga se nismo vidjele godinu dana, a onda sam dobila njezino pismo koje mi je napisala nakon što se zavjetovala Bogu u Španjolskoj. Hodala je bosa kao što hoda i danas.
Napisala mi je dvije rečenice: 'Znam, Mani, da mi nećete vjerovati, ali ja sam jako sretna i molim Vas da mi pokušate povjerovati.' To pismo čuvam i danas. Ovo ljeto na dubrovačkim ljetnim igrama ponovo radimo predstavu 'Gorki mjesec'; doći će i Pascal Brucner, a posvećujemo je Editi Majić." - najavila je Mani.

"Bila je najtalentiranija glumica koju sam upoznala u svom životu. No njezina krhkost, silina emocija, jedna nesretna ljubav i heroin odvojili su je zauvijek od svih nas. Edita je bila na rubu života i drago mi je što je pronašla put da se tome otrgne i nastavi živjeti.
Upoznala sam je dok je bila epizodistica s angažmanom u Gavelli, nitko je nije primjećivao. Dala sam joj veliku glavnu ulogu u predstavi 'Gorki, gorki mjesec' u ITD-u.
Doživjela je dvije nesretne ljubavi
Kad je pisac romana Pascal Brucner, po kojem je nastao kazališni komad, vidio predstavu, rekao je da je to puno bolje od filma koji je po romanu napravio Roman Polanski..." - ispričala je Mani Gotovac, gostujući na književnoj večeri "Ženske priče", o splitskoj glumici koja je prije 11 godina napustila kazališne daske i otišla u sestre karmelićanke, te u Španjolskoj postala redovnica koja će do kraja života živjeti među zidinama najstrožeg samostana.
Mani je, kako piše tportal, o Editi ispričala i sljedeće:

"Bila je osoba koja se potpuno posvećivala teatru, ali i ljubavi. Doživjela je dvije nesretne ljubavi. Nije izdržala ni ljubav prema teatru, ni ovu drugu. Sve je počelo našim 'Gorkim mjesecom' kada je paralelno živjela jednu nesretnu ljubav. Tu je započela njezina priča s heroinom.
Toliko talenta, duše, znanja...
Ja sam svjedočila svemu. Naša priča se nastavlja kad je vodim u Split da zajedno radimo 'Antigonu'. U to vrijeme prekinula je tu svoju ljubavnu vezu i teško, vrlo teško to podnosila. Mislila sam da neće izdržati; radila je na predstavi svaki dan i bila na rubu ponora.
Bojala sam se za nju, bojala sam se i da će izvršiti samoubojstvo. Svi smo bili jako ustrašeni za nju – što će biti s tom djevojkom koja ima toliko talenta, koja ima toliku dušu, toliko znanja... Izvela je Antigonu i nakon toga se nismo vidjele godinu dana, a onda sam dobila njezino pismo koje mi je napisala nakon što se zavjetovala Bogu u Španjolskoj. Hodala je bosa kao što hoda i danas.
Napisala mi je dvije rečenice: 'Znam, Mani, da mi nećete vjerovati, ali ja sam jako sretna i molim Vas da mi pokušate povjerovati.' To pismo čuvam i danas. Ovo ljeto na dubrovačkim ljetnim igrama ponovo radimo predstavu 'Gorki mjesec'; doći će i Pascal Brucner, a posvećujemo je Editi Majić." - najavila je Mani.
