Toj odluci suda po svoj je prilici doprinjelo kompromitiranje glavnog istražitelja Hiltona Bothe, koji je udaljen sa slučaja zbog vlastitih optužbi za ubojstvo. U svom govoru sudac Nair ga je spomenuo, navodeći pogreške koje je do sada počinio u slučaju istrage ubojstva 29-godišnje manekenke Reeve Steenkamp.

Zatim je izjavio da obrana nije uspjela nedvosmisleno dokazati nedostatke u optužbi koje bi ukazivale na iznimne okolnosti pod kojima bi sigurno trebalo odrediti jamčevinu, ali da ni optužba nije uspjela dokazati da postoji rizik od bijega niti da bi Pistorius mogao biti opasan za druge u slučaju puštanja na slobodu.

Naveo je i da postoje određene nejasnoće vezane uz Pistoriusovu verziju događaja - prema njegovom mišljenju nije sasvim jasno zašto Paraolimpijac kada se probudio nije provjerio gdje mu je djevojka i zašto ju nije zazvao te zašto je išao prema kupaonici ako je vjerovao da je unutra provalnik.

Pistorius danas je uz jamčevinu pušten iz pritvora jer je sudac Desmond Nair zaključio kako je zahtjev optužbe za njegovim zadržavanjem neutemeljen, javile su danas svjetske agencije.

Toj odluci suda po svoj je prilici doprinjelo kompromitiranje glavnog istražitelja Hiltona Bothe, koji je udaljen sa slučaja zbog vlastitih optužbi za ubojstvo. U svom govoru sudac Nair ga je spomenuo, navodeći pogreške koje je do sada počinio u slučaju istrage ubojstva 29-godišnje manekenke Reeve Steenkamp.

Zatim je izjavio da obrana nije uspjela nedvosmisleno dokazati nedostatke u optužbi koje bi ukazivale na iznimne okolnosti pod kojima bi sigurno trebalo odrediti jamčevinu, ali da ni optužba nije uspjela dokazati da postoji rizik od bijega niti da bi Pistorius mogao biti opasan za druge u slučaju puštanja na slobodu.

Naveo je i da postoje određene nejasnoće vezane uz Pistoriusovu verziju događaja - prema njegovom mišljenju nije sasvim jasno zašto Paraolimpijac kada se probudio nije provjerio gdje mu je djevojka i zašto ju nije zazvao te zašto je išao prema kupaonici ako je vjerovao da je unutra provalnik.

Paraolimpijac Oscar Pistorius danas je uz jamčevinu pušten iz pritvora jer je sudac Desmond Nair zaključio kako je zahtjev optužbe za njegovim zadržavanjem neutemeljen, javile su danas svjetske agencije.
