Englez Richard Jones (34) ispričao je britanskom Expressu jedinstvenu priču o upoznavanju svoje današnje partnerice i majke njihova sina, koju je prvi put ugledao nakon što je doživio tešku prometnu nesreću, a ona mu je kasnije u potpunosti promijenila život", piše britanski Express. 

U prometnoj nezgodi pretrpio je niz katastrofalnih ozljeda uključujući slomljeni kuk i zdjelicu, puknutu slezenu, a otkazali su mu i bubrezi. Zahvaljujući herojskom činu prolaznika, koji mu je zaustavio krvarenje, a potom i medicinarima Wales Air Ambulancea, koji su ga učinili dovoljno stabilnim da bude prebačen u bolnicu Morriston u Swanseaju nakon nesreće u blizini Johnstowna u Carmarthenshireu - preživio je. No, proveo je deset dana u komi i zbog presječene arterije amputirana mu je desna noga iznad koljena.

No, iz Jonesova užasnog iskustva proizašlo je nešto nevjerojatno pozitivno - bizarnim obratom sudbine, dok je bio u bolnici, uspostavio je odnos s Michaelom, jednom od medicinskih sestara. Više od dvije godine nakon nesreće, par je zajedno i ima osmomjesečnog sina Dougieja.

"Da nisam doživio nesreću, vjerojatno se nikada ne bismo upoznali. Ništa ne uzimam zdravo za gotovo kao prije", kaže Richard Jones, koji slabo pamti strahotu koju je proživio 7. veljače 2020.. 

"Sjećam se da su me mnogi medicinski djelatnici, moja obitelj i prijatelji dolazili vidjeti. Ali zbog lijekova sam puno halucinirao", dodaje Richard govoreći o svojim prvim sjećanjima nakon buđenja iz kome. No, jako mu se urezala u pamćenje medicinska sestra Michaela Jayne, koja mu je posebno zapela za oko tijekom njegovog skoro dvomjesečnog boravka u Morristonu.

"Ona radi s mojom sestrom na dječjem odjelu u bolnici. Prvi put sam je ugledao kad je, dok je bila na slobodnom danu, s još dvije medicinske sestre prodavala kolače za dobrotvornu organizaciju Demencija UK. Došla je na moj odjel pozdraviti moju sestru, koja je tada došla k meni u posjetu, i moju obitelj. Tamo je sve započelo, ali nakon tog susreta nisam s njom razgovarao nekoliko tjedana. Kad sam izašao iz bolnice i došao kući, pričao sam sa sestrom o njoj. I samo joj poslao poruku... Počeli smo komunicirati. Budući da mi je amputirana noga i da sam bio u situaciji u kojoj sam bio, brinuo sam se hoću li upoznati nekoga tko će me prihvatiti ovakvog kakav jesam. Ali Michaela je bila nevjerojatna", priča Richard.

Par je prije osam mjeseci poželio dobrodošlicu na svijet svom sinu Dougieju. Richard ga opisuje kao mali smotuljak energije.

"On je briljantan”, presretno govori 34-godišnjak, kojemu je prometna nesreća u potpunosti promijenila život. Morao je naučiti živjeti na potpuno nov način što je uključivalo i hodanje uz pomoć proteze. Richard priznaje kako u njegovu životu ima dobrih i loših dana, ali i kako sada više vremena posvećuje sebi umjesto da juri kao prije nesreće.

"Bio je to težak put. Još uvijek redovno odlazim na specijalističke preglede. Imam protezu i jako sam je dobro prihvatio. Međutim, budući da je i moja lijeva noga bila teško oštećena, zapravo preferiram protezu i više se oslanjam na nju. I tek sada, bez pomoći, počinjem hodati s jednim štapom po kući. Moj dugoročan plan je hodati bez pomoći posvuda, ali trenutno sam ograničen na kuću i vrt", kaže Richards ističući kako se trenutno najviše raduje prvom Božiću s Dougiejem.

"Za mene je moje božićno čudo moj život. Moji osjećaji prema Božiću sigurno su se promijenili od nesreće. Koliko god se trudim ne pitati samoga sebe neke stvari ipak mi iznad glave vise pitanja poput onog:”Što ako...?” Ipak, Božić koji dolazi, bit će uistinu poseban za mene i moju obitelj”.

U prometnoj nezgodi pretrpio je niz katastrofalnih ozljeda uključujući slomljeni kuk i zdjelicu, puknutu slezenu, a otkazali su mu i bubrezi. Zahvaljujući herojskom činu prolaznika, koji mu je zaustavio krvarenje, a potom i medicinarima Wales Air Ambulancea, koji su ga učinili dovoljno stabilnim da bude prebačen u bolnicu Morriston u Swanseaju nakon nesreće u blizini Johnstowna u Carmarthenshireu - preživio je. No, proveo je deset dana u komi i zbog presječene arterije amputirana mu je desna noga iznad koljena.

No, iz Jonesova užasnog iskustva proizašlo je nešto nevjerojatno pozitivno - bizarnim obratom sudbine, dok je bio u bolnici, uspostavio je odnos s Michaelom, jednom od medicinskih sestara. Više od dvije godine nakon nesreće, par je zajedno i ima osmomjesečnog sina Dougieja.

"Da nisam doživio nesreću, vjerojatno se nikada ne bismo upoznali. Ništa ne uzimam zdravo za gotovo kao prije", kaže Richard Jones, koji slabo pamti strahotu koju je proživio 7. veljače 2020.. 

"Sjećam se da su me mnogi medicinski djelatnici, moja obitelj i prijatelji dolazili vidjeti. Ali zbog lijekova sam puno halucinirao", dodaje Richard govoreći o svojim prvim sjećanjima nakon buđenja iz kome. No, jako mu se urezala u pamćenje medicinska sestra Michaela Jayne, koja mu je posebno zapela za oko tijekom njegovog skoro dvomjesečnog boravka u Morristonu.

"Ona radi s mojom sestrom na dječjem odjelu u bolnici. Prvi put sam je ugledao kad je, dok je bila na slobodnom danu, s još dvije medicinske sestre prodavala kolače za dobrotvornu organizaciju Demencija UK. Došla je na moj odjel pozdraviti moju sestru, koja je tada došla k meni u posjetu, i moju obitelj. Tamo je sve započelo, ali nakon tog susreta nisam s njom razgovarao nekoliko tjedana. Kad sam izašao iz bolnice i došao kući, pričao sam sa sestrom o njoj. I samo joj poslao poruku... Počeli smo komunicirati. Budući da mi je amputirana noga i da sam bio u situaciji u kojoj sam bio, brinuo sam se hoću li upoznati nekoga tko će me prihvatiti ovakvog kakav jesam. Ali Michaela je bila nevjerojatna", priča Richard.

Par je prije osam mjeseci poželio dobrodošlicu na svijet svom sinu Dougieju. Richard ga opisuje kao mali smotuljak energije.

"On je briljantan”, presretno govori 34-godišnjak, kojemu je prometna nesreća u potpunosti promijenila život. Morao je naučiti živjeti na potpuno nov način što je uključivalo i hodanje uz pomoć proteze. Richard priznaje kako u njegovu životu ima dobrih i loših dana, ali i kako sada više vremena posvećuje sebi umjesto da juri kao prije nesreće.

"Bio je to težak put. Još uvijek redovno odlazim na specijalističke preglede. Imam protezu i jako sam je dobro prihvatio. Međutim, budući da je i moja lijeva noga bila teško oštećena, zapravo preferiram protezu i više se oslanjam na nju. I tek sada, bez pomoći, počinjem hodati s jednim štapom po kući. Moj dugoročan plan je hodati bez pomoći posvuda, ali trenutno sam ograničen na kuću i vrt", kaže Richards ističući kako se trenutno najviše raduje prvom Božiću s Dougiejem.

"Za mene je moje božićno čudo moj život. Moji osjećaji prema Božiću sigurno su se promijenili od nesreće. Koliko god se trudim ne pitati samoga sebe neke stvari ipak mi iznad glave vise pitanja poput onog:”Što ako...?” Ipak, Božić koji dolazi, bit će uistinu poseban za mene i moju obitelj”.
