Pitati članove Gusara što misle o vraćanju njihova starog doma na Matejušku, vjerojatno je isto kao da pitate
Bajdu Vukasa bi li opet zaigrao za Hajduka na Starom placu.
Taj nikad prežaljeni spomenik kulture i simbol modernog Splita 20-ih godina prošlog stoljeća u memoriji “gusarevaca” zauzima počasno, gotovo sveto mjesto. I naravno da je njihov odgovor jedno veliko “da” za dom na Matejušci, sentimentalno su svi vezani uz njega, a posebice stariji članovi koji su tamo proveli svoje djetinjstvo, poput bivšeg predsjednika, a sada počasnog člana Duška Krstulovića.
Prije opere u Sydneyu
− Ja san se rodija u kući do Fife i u Gusara na Matejušci san proveja najlipše dane svoga djetinjstva. Tamo su odrasle generacije vrhunskih veslača, tamo su se održavali plesovi, rađale ljubavi. Sentimentalno san vezan za taj dom i ja bi ga vratija kad bi se to moglo.
Ta zgrada tada je bila avangarda, nešto novo u Splitu, a napravljena je čak i prije opere u Sydneyu – kaže nam šjor Duško.
Ni novom predsjedniku ovog trofejnog veslačkog kluba Mirku Ivančiću, iako nikad nije trenirao u starom domu, nije svejedno kad se spomene vraćanje njegove stare slave na legendarni mandrač.

− Svi smo uz njega sentimentalno vezani i ne možemo biti objektivni. Naravno da bih volio da se obnovi, ali koliko je to sa stajališta današnje arhitekture i izgleda grada moguće, ne znam, jer ipak nisam stručnjak u tom području.
Šteta je što se taj dom, nakon što je 1974. godine prodan, nije održavao, nego je postao ruševina, pa se možda 1990. godine ne bi ni srušio i možda bi se uklopio u izgled današnje Matejuške.
U Spinutu smo ipak malo van ruke, da smo ostali u gradu, imali bi sigurno i više dice, ali s druge strane, grad se razvijao i morali smo otić. Ali, kažem, srce nam je uvik ostalo u centru grada – veli Ivančić.
Makar i na papiru
Andro Krstulović Opara, član Uprave Gusara, smatra ideju o vraćanju doma na Matejušku pohvalnom, makar samo u papirnatom obliku.
Ipak, stvori li se poželjna politička i društvena klima da se obnovi staro zdanje na mandraču, postoji projekt koji je sastavni dio monografije Gusara iz 2004. godine koja je izdana u povodu 90. obljetnice kluba.
− Mogućnost obnove doma integrirana je 2005. godine, kad se mijenjao GUP, a taj su prijedlog prihvatili i konzervatori i stručne službe Grada. Taj prijedlog predviđa mogućnost faksimilne obnove prema stručnim i konzervatorskim metodama, dakle, repliku poput one Mostarskoga mosta.
Naravno da inzistiranje na vraćanju doma ne smije biti gesta uništenja djela Ede Šegvića, kojeg jako cijenim. Zapravo je civilizacijska gesta uopće promišljanje o njegovu povratku, makar i kroz raspravu, o čemu je danas riječ.
Valorizirajmo papirnato postojanje tog spomenika, simbola moderniteta Splita, kako bismo budućim generacijama dali mogućnost da poprave grešku iz 1990. godine, kad je objekt srušen. I tko zna, možda jednom netko kaže − zašto ne? – zaključio je Krstulović Opara.

Stara slova na Spinutu
Stari dom, osim u srcima svih gusaraša, dijelom je utkan i u dom na Spinutu, gdje su prenesena stara slova imena kluba, kao i kameni reljef veslača poznatoga kipara Andrije Krstulovića.

Pitati članove Gusara što misle o vraćanju njihova starog doma na Matejušku, vjerojatno je isto kao da pitate
Bajdu Vukasa bi li opet zaigrao za Hajduka na Starom placu.
Taj nikad prežaljeni spomenik kulture i simbol modernog Splita 20-ih godina prošlog stoljeća u memoriji “gusarevaca” zauzima počasno, gotovo sveto mjesto. I naravno da je njihov odgovor jedno veliko “da” za dom na Matejušci, sentimentalno su svi vezani uz njega, a posebice stariji članovi koji su tamo proveli svoje djetinjstvo, poput bivšeg predsjednika, a sada počasnog člana Duška Krstulovića.
Prije opere u Sydneyu
− Ja san se rodija u kući do Fife i u Gusara na Matejušci san proveja najlipše dane svoga djetinjstva. Tamo su odrasle generacije vrhunskih veslača, tamo su se održavali plesovi, rađale ljubavi. Sentimentalno san vezan za taj dom i ja bi ga vratija kad bi se to moglo.
Ta zgrada tada je bila avangarda, nešto novo u Splitu, a napravljena je čak i prije opere u Sydneyu – kaže nam šjor Duško.
Ni novom predsjedniku ovog trofejnog veslačkog kluba Mirku Ivančiću, iako nikad nije trenirao u starom domu, nije svejedno kad se spomene vraćanje njegove stare slave na legendarni mandrač.

− Svi smo uz njega sentimentalno vezani i ne možemo biti objektivni. Naravno da bih volio da se obnovi, ali koliko je to sa stajališta današnje arhitekture i izgleda grada moguće, ne znam, jer ipak nisam stručnjak u tom području.
Šteta je što se taj dom, nakon što je 1974. godine prodan, nije održavao, nego je postao ruševina, pa se možda 1990. godine ne bi ni srušio i možda bi se uklopio u izgled današnje Matejuške.

Makar i na papiru
Andro Krstulović Opara, član Uprave Gusara, smatra ideju o vraćanju doma na Matejušku pohvalnom, makar samo u papirnatom obliku.
Ipak, stvori li se poželjna politička i društvena klima da se obnovi staro zdanje na mandraču, postoji projekt koji je sastavni dio monografije Gusara iz 2004. godine koja je izdana u povodu 90. obljetnice kluba.
− Mogućnost obnove doma integrirana je 2005. godine, kad se mijenjao GUP, a taj su prijedlog prihvatili i konzervatori i stručne službe Grada. Taj prijedlog predviđa mogućnost faksimilne obnove prema stručnim i konzervatorskim metodama, dakle, repliku poput one Mostarskoga mosta.
Naravno da inzistiranje na vraćanju doma ne smije biti gesta uništenja djela Ede Šegvića, kojeg jako cijenim. Zapravo je civilizacijska gesta uopće promišljanje o njegovu povratku, makar i kroz raspravu, o čemu je danas riječ.
Valorizirajmo papirnato postojanje tog spomenika, simbola moderniteta Splita, kako bismo budućim generacijama dali mogućnost da poprave grešku iz 1990. godine, kad je objekt srušen. I tko zna, možda jednom netko kaže − zašto ne? – zaključio je Krstulović Opara.
