Na opasnome raskršću Ulice slobode i Ulice Domovinskog rata, razgovorno zvanog Kod Slobodne, u posljednje vrijeme srećom nema nesreća.

Međutim vidljivo je - osobito u frekventnim satima, na primjer ujutro prije osam sati - da se u Ulici slobode na semaforu stvaraju velike gužve. Kolone znaju dosezati do samog semafora kod Osnovne škole Bol i križanja s Velebitskom.

Vozači su, srećom, strpljivi, ne trube, ne naguravaju se i ne beštimaju. Ali u jutranjim špicama, kada je svaka sekunda važna, pa još dođu kiše i južine, izazov za vozačko strpljenje mogao bi biti prevelik.

Čini se da rješenju problematičnog križanja nije puno pomogla ni zabrana skretanja ulijevo iz Ulice slobode prema Gundulićevoj, a trak za skretanje udesno najčešće zjapi prazan.

Čini se da aktualne gužve na raskršću nastaju zato što je propusnost iz Ulice slobode premala, vrijeme za prolaz je uverljivo najkraće. Iz Ulice Hrvatske mornarice ima dovoljno vremena za skrenuti ulijevo, iz Ulice Domovinskog rata osigurano je vrijeme za skretanje u Ulicu slobode i Ulicu Hrvatske mornarice. Doduše, tu mogućnost mnogi vozači ne shvate i ne iskoriste, a pješaci često prelaze po crvenome i riskiraju nesreću. Samo oni koji idu ravno Ulicom slobode prema Ulici Hrvatske mornarice imaju najmanje vremena za prolaz pa se stvaraju gužve.

Čini se da bi nad nacrt toga raskrižja prometni stručnjaci trebali sjesti hladne glave i omogućiti veću propusnost na semaforu. Dodatni prometni trak samo za skretanje iz Ulice Domovinskog rata u Ulicu Hrvatske mornarice, zlata bi vrijedio, makar i na štetu metra pločnika. I to bi trebalo rješavati odmah. Kada nastanu gužve, ili eventualno nesreće, bit će kasno.

Na opasnome raskršću Ulice slobode i Ulice Domovinskog rata, razgovorno zvanog Kod Slobodne, u posljednje vrijeme srećom nema nesreća.

Međutim vidljivo je - osobito u frekventnim satima, na primjer ujutro prije osam sati - da se u Ulici slobode na semaforu stvaraju velike gužve. Kolone znaju dosezati do samog semafora kod Osnovne škole Bol i križanja s Velebitskom.

Vozači su, srećom, strpljivi, ne trube, ne naguravaju se i ne beštimaju. Ali u jutranjim špicama, kada je svaka sekunda važna, pa još dođu kiše i južine, izazov za vozačko strpljenje mogao bi biti prevelik.

Čini se da rješenju problematičnog križanja nije puno pomogla ni zabrana skretanja ulijevo iz Ulice slobode prema Gundulićevoj, a trak za skretanje udesno najčešće zjapi prazan.

Čini se da aktualne gužve na raskršću nastaju zato što je propusnost iz Ulice slobode premala, vrijeme za prolaz je uverljivo najkraće. Iz Ulice Hrvatske mornarice ima dovoljno vremena za skrenuti ulijevo, iz Ulice Domovinskog rata osigurano je vrijeme za skretanje u Ulicu slobode i Ulicu Hrvatske mornarice. Doduše, tu mogućnost mnogi vozači ne shvate i ne iskoriste, a pješaci često prelaze po crvenome i riskiraju nesreću. Samo oni koji idu ravno Ulicom slobode prema Ulici Hrvatske mornarice imaju najmanje vremena za prolaz pa se stvaraju gužve.

Čini se da bi nad nacrt toga raskrižja prometni stručnjaci trebali sjesti hladne glave i omogućiti veću propusnost na semaforu. Dodatni prometni trak samo za skretanje iz Ulice Domovinskog rata u Ulicu Hrvatske mornarice, zlata bi vrijedio, makar i na štetu metra pločnika. I to bi trebalo rješavati odmah. Kada nastanu gužve, ili eventualno nesreće, bit će kasno.
