Andrew Wakefield, jedan od najistaknutijih zagovornika otpora vakcinaciji stiže u Split, gdje će sudjelovati na skupu pod nazivom 'Mirno okupljanje povodom obilježavanja Međunarodnog dana svjesnosti o osobama oštećenima cjepivom', koje će se održati 8. lipnja na Trgu Gaje Bulata. Osim Wakefielda na skupu će, kako je najavljeno, sudjelovati i hrvatski antivakcinisti internistica dr. Lidija Gajski, članica Živog zida dr. vet. Ivana Delaš i patologinja dr. Alma Demirović.

Wakefield se 'proslavio' tezom da cjepivo protiv morbila, rubeole, parotitisa (MoPaRu, MPR ili MMR) izaziva autizam, no njegove tvrdnje nikada nisu dobile znanstvenu potporu. Pokazalo se da je bolesnu djecu nepotrebno izvrgavao teškim i bolnim zahvatima, a naknadno su otkrivene financijske veze koje su diskreditirale njegovu nepristranost te je mu je u konačnici oduzeta liječnička dozvola.

Bezo obzira na sve, njegove tvrdnje već dvadeset godina pokreću histeriju oko cijepljenja koja je zahvatila i Hrvatsku u tolikoj mjeri da je u 2016. u Dubrovačko-neretvanskoj županiji prvu dozu cjepiva primilo samo 64,4 posto djece, a u našoj samo 70 posto mališana pa su baš u ovom dijelu Hrvatske zabilježena dva epidemijska žarišta ospica. Wakefield stiže baš u trenutku kad su se na splitskom području ponovno pojavile ospice - kako smo pisali, bolest je najprije evidentirana u sezonske radnice koja je u KBC stigla s Hvara, a potom u 39-godišnjaka iz Solina koji je do dolaska u bolnicu radio na jednoj od benzinskih crpki pa je bio u kontaktu s puno ljudi.

Andrew Wakefield, jedan od najistaknutijih zagovornika otpora vakcinaciji stiže u Split, gdje će sudjelovati na skupu pod nazivom 'Mirno okupljanje povodom obilježavanja Međunarodnog dana svjesnosti o osobama oštećenima cjepivom', koje će se održati 8. lipnja na Trgu Gaje Bulata. Osim Wakefielda na skupu će, kako je najavljeno, sudjelovati i hrvatski antivakcinisti internistica dr. Lidija Gajski, članica Živog zida dr. vet. Ivana Delaš i patologinja dr. Alma Demirović.

Wakefield se 'proslavio' tezom da cjepivo protiv morbila, rubeole, parotitisa (MoPaRu, MPR ili MMR) izaziva autizam, no njegove tvrdnje nikada nisu dobile znanstvenu potporu. Pokazalo se da je bolesnu djecu nepotrebno izvrgavao teškim i bolnim zahvatima, a naknadno su otkrivene financijske veze koje su diskreditirale njegovu nepristranost te je mu je u konačnici oduzeta liječnička dozvola.

Bezo obzira na sve, njegove tvrdnje već dvadeset godina pokreću histeriju oko cijepljenja koja je zahvatila i Hrvatsku u tolikoj mjeri da je u 2016. u Dubrovačko-neretvanskoj županiji prvu dozu cjepiva primilo samo 64,4 posto djece, a u našoj samo 70 posto mališana pa su baš u ovom dijelu Hrvatske zabilježena dva epidemijska žarišta ospica. Wakefield stiže baš u trenutku kad su se na splitskom području ponovno pojavile ospice - kako smo pisali, bolest je najprije evidentirana u sezonske radnice koja je u KBC stigla s Hvara, a potom u 39-godišnjaka iz Solina koji je do dolaska u bolnicu radio na jednoj od benzinskih crpki pa je bio u kontaktu s puno ljudi.
