Nigerijski reprezentativni stoper Godfrey Oboabona (28) novi igrač Gorice. To je taj toliko čekani internacionalac, na čijem dovođenju je u strogoj tajnosti zadnja dva tjedna radio sportski direktor MindaugasNikoličius.

Nekoliko klubova, među kojima ima i hrvatskih, željeli su dovesti igrača, koji ima 44 nastupa za A reprezentaciju Nigerije s kojom je bio prvak Afrike 2013. i nastupio na Svjetskom prvenstvu 2014. u Brazilu, ali Oboabona je ipak izabrao Goricu.

Golemi je to uspjeh za novog hrvatskog prvoligaša jer dovesti igrača, koji po Transfermarktu vrijedi 1,8 milijuna eura, a 2016. je vrijedio skoro dvostruko više, nije nimalo jednostavno.

Za usporedbu, samo dva igrača Dinama koja su mu ovoga ljeta pristupili, Kevin Theophile Catherine (4 milijuna eura) i Lovro Majer (2,5 milijuna eura), imaju potencijalno višu cijenu. Godfrey Oboabona je prošle sezone nastupao za Al Ahli Jeddah iz Saudijske Arabije, gdje ga je trenirao Serhij Rebrov, dok je prije toga četiri sezone nosio dres turskog prvoligaša Rizespora za kojeg ima 96 prvenstvenih nastupa i četiri postignuta pogotka. Na spomenutom prvenstvu Afrike 2013. kada je Nigerija bila prvak svladavši u finalu Burkinu Faso, Oboabona je odigrao svih šest utakmica u cijelosti, dok je u Brazilu godinu kasnije nastupio u dvoboju protiv Irana.

Oboabona je jučer popodne sletio u Veliku Goricu i pričekao svog agenta, koji je došao kasno navečer kada je potpisan jednogodišnji ugovor. Trener Gorice Sergej Jakirović tako je dobio pojačanje za koje su se otimali i daleko jači i financijski moćniji klubovi, ali očito je da sportskog direktora Nikoličiusa zanimaju samo vrhunski poslovi, koje uspijeva i realizirati.

Nigerijski reprezentativni stoper Godfrey Oboabona (28) novi igrač Gorice. To je taj toliko čekani internacionalac, na čijem dovođenju je u strogoj tajnosti zadnja dva tjedna radio sportski direktor MindaugasNikoličius.

Nekoliko klubova, među kojima ima i hrvatskih, željeli su dovesti igrača, koji ima 44 nastupa za A reprezentaciju Nigerije s kojom je bio prvak Afrike 2013. i nastupio na Svjetskom prvenstvu 2014. u Brazilu, ali Oboabona je ipak izabrao Goricu.

Golemi je to uspjeh za novog hrvatskog prvoligaša jer dovesti igrača, koji po Transfermarktu vrijedi 1,8 milijuna eura, a 2016. je vrijedio skoro dvostruko više, nije nimalo jednostavno.

Za usporedbu, samo dva igrača Dinama koja su mu ovoga ljeta pristupili, Kevin Theophile Catherine (4 milijuna eura) i Lovro Majer (2,5 milijuna eura), imaju potencijalno višu cijenu. Godfrey Oboabona je prošle sezone nastupao za Al Ahli Jeddah iz Saudijske Arabije, gdje ga je trenirao Serhij Rebrov, dok je prije toga četiri sezone nosio dres turskog prvoligaša Rizespora za kojeg ima 96 prvenstvenih nastupa i četiri postignuta pogotka. Na spomenutom prvenstvu Afrike 2013. kada je Nigerija bila prvak svladavši u finalu Burkinu Faso, Oboabona je odigrao svih šest utakmica u cijelosti, dok je u Brazilu godinu kasnije nastupio u dvoboju protiv Irana.

Oboabona je jučer popodne sletio u Veliku Goricu i pričekao svog agenta, koji je došao kasno navečer kada je potpisan jednogodišnji ugovor. Trener Gorice Sergej Jakirović tako je dobio pojačanje za koje su se otimali i daleko jači i financijski moćniji klubovi, ali očito je da sportskog direktora Nikoličiusa zanimaju samo vrhunski poslovi, koje uspijeva i realizirati.
