I poslije prospavane noći žal za propuštenim trofejem na Gripama je ostala jednako velika. Slegli su se i dojmovi trenera košarkaša Splita Ivice Skelina koji ih je podijelio s nama:
- Napravili smo puno grešaka. Stalno smo bili blizu, imali i loptu za vodstvo u zadnjoj četvrtini, ali nikako nismo uspjeli uvesti Zadar u nervozu. Utakmica je bila riješena kad su oni spojili četiri trice.
Biste li sada nešto drukčije napravili?
- Taktički ne bih. Najveća primjedba ide na duel igru, morali smo biti agresivniji. Možda smo mogli više spuštati loptu kad Onuaku nije bio u igri. Generalno nisam zadovoljan kako smo odradili završnice svih četvrtina. „Ubijali” su nas ishitreni šutevi i glupe odluke. Zadar je još uvijek za nijansu bolji od nas, ali mislim da smo mu puno bliže nego prethodnih godina.
Baju i Perkovića zajedno ste koristili svega 43 sekunde, Vrankovića skromnih 11 minuta, a Perasović i Gizdavčić nisu ni ulazili. Zašto?
- Kad loviš zaostatak u finišu trebaju ti bekovi koji rade prednost, tako da s Bajom i Vrankovićem ne bih dobio puno, a Perković do tada nije igrao i bilo ga je glupo dizati nakon 37 minuta. Nisam imao dojam s klupe da nedostaje energije.
Sigurno i do vas dopire glas nezadovoljstva navijača koji zazivaju vašu smjenu?
- Navijači imaju pravo kritizirati. Ako sam ja kriv, OK, ali zaboravlja se gdje smo bili prije pet godina, a gdje smo sada. Nisam bezgrešan, ali ne mislim da je sezona toliko loša kakvom se sada pokazuje. Svi su nam govorili da nećemo imati ni jednu pobjedu u ABA Ligi. Financijska nam je situacija takva da smo momčad morali stvarati u hodu. Roster koji sada imamo nismo si mogli priuštiti 1. rujna, a da smo od početka bili u ovom sastavu to bi bila druga priča.
Prilično ste otvoreno rekli da vas nakon pauze čeka pad forme?
- Jesam, jer tako me iskustvo uči. Sad ostajemo bez šestorice reprezentativaca, a čim se oni vrate tamo sljedeći utorak čeka nas pet utakmica u devet dana. Zbog zgusnutog rasporeda nemamo dovoljno vremena za zajedničke treninge i ne možemo biti uigrani koliko bismo trebali biti. To je najveći problem. Ne tražim alibije, no to su činjenice.
Jeste li razgovarali s upravom kluba, imate li njihovu podršku?
- Nisam razgovarao. Ako smatraju da me treba mijenjati, ja sam tu najmanji problem. Guštam raditi u svom gradu u svom klubu. Bili smo uspješni i vratili se u ABA Ligu, no očito su sada apetiti porasli. Nakon 17 godina uđemo u finale, izgubimo ga i odmah je to tragedija. A gdje su trofeji zadnjih 17 godina? Dok god imam podršku igrača, ništa mi drugo nije važno.
Skelin je u zaključku poručio:
- Za sve što smo napravili sam ponosan. Netko nije zadovoljan minutažom mladih, netko rezultatima... Ne mogu svih zadovoljiti. Ako više ne budem trener, Bože moj. Takav je trenerski posao. Neće to biti ni kraj košarke, ni kraj kluba, niti moj kraj. Život ide dalje.

I poslije prospavane noći žal za propuštenim trofejem na Gripama je ostala jednako velika. Slegli su se i dojmovi trenera košarkaša Splita Ivice Skelina koji ih je podijelio s nama:
- Napravili smo puno grešaka. Stalno smo bili blizu, imali i loptu za vodstvo u zadnjoj četvrtini, ali nikako nismo uspjeli uvesti Zadar u nervozu. Utakmica je bila riješena kad su oni spojili četiri trice.
Biste li sada nešto drukčije napravili?
- Taktički ne bih. Najveća primjedba ide na duel igru, morali smo biti agresivniji. Možda smo mogli više spuštati loptu kad Onuaku nije bio u igri. Generalno nisam zadovoljan kako smo odradili završnice svih četvrtina. „Ubijali” su nas ishitreni šutevi i glupe odluke. Zadar je još uvijek za nijansu bolji od nas, ali mislim da smo mu puno bliže nego prethodnih godina.
Baju i Perkovića zajedno ste koristili svega 43 sekunde, Vrankovića skromnih 11 minuta, a Perasović i Gizdavčić nisu ni ulazili. Zašto?
- Kad loviš zaostatak u finišu trebaju ti bekovi koji rade prednost, tako da s Bajom i Vrankovićem ne bih dobio puno, a Perković do tada nije igrao i bilo ga je glupo dizati nakon 37 minuta. Nisam imao dojam s klupe da nedostaje energije.
Sigurno i do vas dopire glas nezadovoljstva navijača koji zazivaju vašu smjenu?
- Navijači imaju pravo kritizirati. Ako sam ja kriv, OK, ali zaboravlja se gdje smo bili prije pet godina, a gdje smo sada. Nisam bezgrešan, ali ne mislim da je sezona toliko loša kakvom se sada pokazuje. Svi su nam govorili da nećemo imati ni jednu pobjedu u ABA Ligi. Financijska nam je situacija takva da smo momčad morali stvarati u hodu. Roster koji sada imamo nismo si mogli priuštiti 1. rujna, a da smo od početka bili u ovom sastavu to bi bila druga priča.
Prilično ste otvoreno rekli da vas nakon pauze čeka pad forme?
- Jesam, jer tako me iskustvo uči. Sad ostajemo bez šestorice reprezentativaca, a čim se oni vrate tamo sljedeći utorak čeka nas pet utakmica u devet dana. Zbog zgusnutog rasporeda nemamo dovoljno vremena za zajedničke treninge i ne možemo biti uigrani koliko bismo trebali biti. To je najveći problem. Ne tražim alibije, no to su činjenice.
Jeste li razgovarali s upravom kluba, imate li njihovu podršku?
- Nisam razgovarao. Ako smatraju da me treba mijenjati, ja sam tu najmanji problem. Guštam raditi u svom gradu u svom klubu. Bili smo uspješni i vratili se u ABA Ligu, no očito su sada apetiti porasli. Nakon 17 godina uđemo u finale, izgubimo ga i odmah je to tragedija. A gdje su trofeji zadnjih 17 godina? Dok god imam podršku igrača, ništa mi drugo nije važno.
Skelin je u zaključku poručio:
- Za sve što smo napravili sam ponosan. Netko nije zadovoljan minutažom mladih, netko rezultatima... Ne mogu svih zadovoljiti. Ako više ne budem trener, Bože moj. Takav je trenerski posao. Neće to biti ni kraj košarke, ni kraj kluba, niti moj kraj. Život ide dalje.
