Kada će se NBA draft održati i u kakvom obliku još je nepoznato, ali ono što znamo jest da se na isti prijavio košarkaš Splita Darko Bajo.
Daleko je to još od scenarija po kojem bi Bajo postao NBA igrač i to odmah ovog ljeta, ali je jasna njegova namjera da jednoga dana bude član najjače i najprestižnije svjetske lige.
- Da, prijavio sam se preko mog agenta i u dogovoru s njim – potvrdio nam je 205cm visoki (krilni) centar koji je prošlog mjeseca proslavio 21. rođendan.
A taj agent zove se Miško Ražnatović i jedan je od najmoćnijih europskih ljudi u košarkaškom biznisu. Odavno je prepoznao potencijal Darka Baje koji s vremenom svakako može postati i kvaliteta za reprezentaciju, iako ima još dosta prostora za napredak. Iza njega je u Splitu odlična sezona i nada se kako prijavom na draft može privući pažnju nekog od klubova „preko bare”.
Što vas je ponukalo na prijavu, pitamo Darka?
- Želim igrati u NBA. To mi je oduvijek bila želja i ambicija. Prijavio sam se na draft i prošle godine, ali sam kasnije povukao prijavu. Gledao sam hoće li biti zainteresiranih klubova.
Očekujete li interes klubova ove sezone?
- Iskreno da vam kažem, ne znam. Koronavirus je baš zeznuo stvar. Ništa se ne zna.
Što sada nakon prijave, koji je daljnji korak?
- Sada čekam eventualno poziv za neki „workout”, ali kažem, sve je to još neizvjesno zbog korone... Ako dobijem taj poziv, vjerujem da bih se pokazao i nametnuo, ali to mi još uvijek ne bi jamčilo upadanje u onu glavnu ceremoniju, među 60 igrača u dvije runde.
Svečanost NBA drafta na rasporedu je 25. lipnja u New Yorku, ali će taj termin gotovo sigurno biti pomaknut. Čekat će bolja vremena. Ne zna se, uostalom, ni što će biti s ostatkom aktualne NBA sezone, odnosno hoće li se nastaviti i kada. Puno je još otvorenih tema i nerazjašnjenih pitanja. U svakom slučaju, draft se održava nakon završetka sezone, pa bi se 25. lipnja mogao održati samo ako bi se sezona do tada poništila, što je scenarij koji se svakako želi izbjeći.
O kojoj momčadi u NBA maštate?
- Volio bih igrati bilo gdje, a ako bih mogao birati onda bih radije u neki veći grad. Omiljena momčad, barem ove sezone, bili su mi Los Angeles Lakersi. Najviše uživam gledajući LeBrona Jamesa i Kevina Duranta.
Kada sve te zvijezde gledate na TV-u, što vam se čini u čemu morate najviše napredovati kako biste dohvatili NBA razinu?
- Najviše moram raditi na šutu i mentalnom pristupu. Meditiram, čitam dosta knjiga. Sad sam za vrijeme karantene puno vremena posvetio čitanju i puno se bolje osjećam.
Zanimljivo. I pohvalno. Neka posebna tematika, možda sportska psihologija?
- Uglavnom su to knjige o samopomoći, a ima i sportske psihologije, da. Pročitao sam i biografije o Kobeu Bryantu i Billu Russellu. Preporučujem ih svima jer vas nauče puno toga, ne samo o košarci već i o životu.
Jeste li sami to odlučili ili vam je netko savjetovao da bi vam takav pristup mogao biti od pomoći?
- Cijeli život mi govore te stvari, ali dok sam nisam shvatio da su mi mentalna snaga i zdravlje neophodni nisam to radio. Moram spomenuti Katarinu Martinović koja mi je najviše pomogla s tim. Dok sam bio u Cedeviti ona je u to vrijeme bila sportski psiholog. Ona je prva osoba koja mi je baš otvorila oči po tom pitanju.
Momku iz naselja Nova Bila blizu Travnika meditacija i čitanje knjiga očito su koristili budući da se ove sezone nametnuo u žutom dresu. Stigao je iz Cedevite Olimpije u paketu s Tonijem Perkovićem, doduše na posudbu, i odmah zgrabio priliku.
Gledajući sva natjecanja na prosjeku je od 11 poena i 5 skokova po utakmici, no još važnije od samih brojki pokazao je da je pojačanje i perspektiva za budućnost. Bila mu je to prva sezona u kojoj je u klubu imao jednu od glavnih uloga.
- Zadovoljan sam svojim igrama. Velik je pomak u odnosu na prošlu sezonu, ali znam da mogu još puno bolje. Ušli smo u doigravanje ABA lige 2, nažalost korona nas je prekinula u nastavku, ali drago mi je što smo barem zaključili pobjedom (op.a. protiv Širokog). Super se osjećam u Splitu. Dolazak ovamo bio je pun pogodak.
Split, koji se po svemu sudeći sljedeće sezone vraća u ABA ligu nakon sedam godina izbivanja, rado bi zadržao Baju i to višegodišnjim ugovorom, no pitat će se nešto i Cedevitu Olimpiju.
- Imam želju ostati u Splitu, to je sve što mogu reći – kazao je Bajo.
I to je sjajna vijest za „žute”. Ostanak Darka Baje na Gripama i u sljedećoj sezoni bio bi pravi bingo.

Kada će se NBA draft održati i u kakvom obliku još je nepoznato, ali ono što znamo jest da se na isti prijavio košarkaš Splita Darko Bajo.
Daleko je to još od scenarija po kojem bi Bajo postao NBA igrač i to odmah ovog ljeta, ali je jasna njegova namjera da jednoga dana bude član najjače i najprestižnije svjetske lige.
- Da, prijavio sam se preko mog agenta i u dogovoru s njim – potvrdio nam je 205cm visoki (krilni) centar koji je prošlog mjeseca proslavio 21. rođendan.
A taj agent zove se Miško Ražnatović i jedan je od najmoćnijih europskih ljudi u košarkaškom biznisu. Odavno je prepoznao potencijal Darka Baje koji s vremenom svakako može postati i kvaliteta za reprezentaciju, iako ima još dosta prostora za napredak. Iza njega je u Splitu odlična sezona i nada se kako prijavom na draft može privući pažnju nekog od klubova „preko bare”.
Što vas je ponukalo na prijavu, pitamo Darka?
- Želim igrati u NBA. To mi je oduvijek bila želja i ambicija. Prijavio sam se na draft i prošle godine, ali sam kasnije povukao prijavu. Gledao sam hoće li biti zainteresiranih klubova.
Očekujete li interes klubova ove sezone?
- Iskreno da vam kažem, ne znam. Koronavirus je baš zeznuo stvar. Ništa se ne zna.
Što sada nakon prijave, koji je daljnji korak?
- Sada čekam eventualno poziv za neki „workout”, ali kažem, sve je to još neizvjesno zbog korone... Ako dobijem taj poziv, vjerujem da bih se pokazao i nametnuo, ali to mi još uvijek ne bi jamčilo upadanje u onu glavnu ceremoniju, među 60 igrača u dvije runde.
Svečanost NBA drafta na rasporedu je 25. lipnja u New Yorku, ali će taj termin gotovo sigurno biti pomaknut. Čekat će bolja vremena. Ne zna se, uostalom, ni što će biti s ostatkom aktualne NBA sezone, odnosno hoće li se nastaviti i kada. Puno je još otvorenih tema i nerazjašnjenih pitanja. U svakom slučaju, draft se održava nakon završetka sezone, pa bi se 25. lipnja mogao održati samo ako bi se sezona do tada poništila, što je scenarij koji se svakako želi izbjeći.
O kojoj momčadi u NBA maštate?
- Volio bih igrati bilo gdje, a ako bih mogao birati onda bih radije u neki veći grad. Omiljena momčad, barem ove sezone, bili su mi Los Angeles Lakersi. Najviše uživam gledajući LeBrona Jamesa i Kevina Duranta.
Kada sve te zvijezde gledate na TV-u, što vam se čini u čemu morate najviše napredovati kako biste dohvatili NBA razinu?
- Najviše moram raditi na šutu i mentalnom pristupu. Meditiram, čitam dosta knjiga. Sad sam za vrijeme karantene puno vremena posvetio čitanju i puno se bolje osjećam.
Zanimljivo. I pohvalno. Neka posebna tematika, možda sportska psihologija?
- Uglavnom su to knjige o samopomoći, a ima i sportske psihologije, da. Pročitao sam i biografije o Kobeu Bryantu i Billu Russellu. Preporučujem ih svima jer vas nauče puno toga, ne samo o košarci već i o životu.
Jeste li sami to odlučili ili vam je netko savjetovao da bi vam takav pristup mogao biti od pomoći?
- Cijeli život mi govore te stvari, ali dok sam nisam shvatio da su mi mentalna snaga i zdravlje neophodni nisam to radio. Moram spomenuti Katarinu Martinović koja mi je najviše pomogla s tim. Dok sam bio u Cedeviti ona je u to vrijeme bila sportski psiholog. Ona je prva osoba koja mi je baš otvorila oči po tom pitanju.
Momku iz naselja Nova Bila blizu Travnika meditacija i čitanje knjiga očito su koristili budući da se ove sezone nametnuo u žutom dresu. Stigao je iz Cedevite Olimpije u paketu s Tonijem Perkovićem, doduše na posudbu, i odmah zgrabio priliku.
Gledajući sva natjecanja na prosjeku je od 11 poena i 5 skokova po utakmici, no još važnije od samih brojki pokazao je da je pojačanje i perspektiva za budućnost. Bila mu je to prva sezona u kojoj je u klubu imao jednu od glavnih uloga.
- Zadovoljan sam svojim igrama. Velik je pomak u odnosu na prošlu sezonu, ali znam da mogu još puno bolje. Ušli smo u doigravanje ABA lige 2, nažalost korona nas je prekinula u nastavku, ali drago mi je što smo barem zaključili pobjedom (op.a. protiv Širokog). Super se osjećam u Splitu. Dolazak ovamo bio je pun pogodak.
Split, koji se po svemu sudeći sljedeće sezone vraća u ABA ligu nakon sedam godina izbivanja, rado bi zadržao Baju i to višegodišnjim ugovorom, no pitat će se nešto i Cedevitu Olimpiju.
- Imam želju ostati u Splitu, to je sve što mogu reći – kazao je Bajo.
I to je sjajna vijest za „žute”. Ostanak Darka Baje na Gripama i u sljedećoj sezoni bio bi pravi bingo.
