Skupivši u proteklih pet godina točno 399 nastupa za Los Angeles Clipperse, ozljeda je našem Iron Manu prolongirala jubilarni nastup za bijeli klub iz Grada anđela. Iako ga je trener Tyronn Lue uspoređivao s Marvelovim superjunakom, zaštićenog prepoznatljivim oklopom, Ivica Zubac iduća će četiri tjedna (minimalno) provesti uz rub parketa, udaljen od natjecateljskog podražaja. Zaradivši ozljedu u utakmici protiv Memphis Grizzliesa u petak, prve prognoze bile su optimistične po hrvatskog reprezentativnog centra. Međutim, nakon detaljnijih pregleda, Zupcu je utvrđena ozbiljnija ozljeda desnog lista, zbog koje će vjerojatno ući u najdulju stanku u NBA karijeri.

Otkako je 2019. preselio na drugu stranu grada, iz Lakersa u Clipperse, 26-godišnji div iz Čitluka propustio je samo 12 utakmica osnovnog dijela sezone, što je krajnje avangardan podatak u modernoj eri elitnog košarkaškog karnevala, gdje je epidemija popularnog “load managementa” zarazila ligu. S obzirom na to da Zubac grabi plodove najbolje sezone karijere, u kojoj prosječno isporučuje nešto više od 12 poena, uz gotovo 10 skokova i 1,4 blokadu po utakmici, izvjesno je da će njegova ozljeda biti neugodan udarac za momčad. Iako su dodatkom novog superstara, u liku Jamesa Hardena, Clippersi imali neslavan početak - pet poraza u njegovih prvih pet nastupa - Brada se ipak asimilirao s ostatkom zvjezdane družine, nakon čega je momčad odjahala do omjera od 23 pobjede i sedam poraza. Pritom, sa značajnom “kemijom” između njega i hrvatskog košarkaša, s kojim je dobro surađivao u napadu, kroz “pick&roll” oružje., pišu Sportske novosti.

Međutim, problemi s desnim listom nisu se pojavili preko noći, s obzirom na to da je zbog istih problema Zubac propustio četiri od pet utakmica prošle sezone, nakon All-Star pauze, kao i dvije utakmice početkom 2022.

- Pokušao je sve kako bi zaigrao, ali nije uspio. Pametno je da nismo forsirali, kako ne bismo dodatno pogoršali situaciju. Donijeli smo odluku netom prije početka utakmice - rekao je trener Lue nakon susreta protiv Minnesota Timberwolvesa.

Dok će u ulogu prvog centra uskočiti Mason Plumlee, sedam godina stariji Amerikanac, Clippersi će bez Zupca biti tanji na obje strane parketa. Prema podacima Second Spectruma, hrvatski košarkaš sve bolje odrađuje i obrambene zadaće, pa tako suparnicima ispod koša dozvoljava uspješan završetak akcije u 48,7 posto navrata, a u konkurenciju je pritom uzeto 87 igrača, koji “brane” barem 3,5 suparnička pokušaja pod košem na utakmici, dok je uspješniji od njega bio jedino Walker Kessler (46,2), centar Utah Jazza.

S obzirom na to da je All-Star utakmica na rasporedu 18. veljače u Indianapolisu, dok pauza završava četiri dana kasnije, izvjesno je da bi Zubac priliku mogao dočekati upravo tada, ovisno o procesu oporavka. Dok su mjesta na marginama u redovima Clippersa uglavnom bila rezervirana za Kawhija Leonarda i Paula Georgea, momčad će se sada prvi put morati učiti na “dulji život bez Zupca”.

Unatoč mršavom ulasku u sezonu, klub iz Kalifornije uspio se podići do četvrtog mjesta Zapadne konferencije (26-14), hvatajući što bolju startnu poziciju za doigravanje. Tamo će, pak, htjeti isprati gorak okus povijesti, s obzirom na to da im je najbolji rezultat finale Zapada iz 2021. godine...

Skupivši u proteklih pet godina točno 399 nastupa za Los Angeles Clipperse, ozljeda je našem Iron Manu prolongirala jubilarni nastup za bijeli klub iz Grada anđela. Iako ga je trener Tyronn Lue uspoređivao s Marvelovim superjunakom, zaštićenog prepoznatljivim oklopom, Ivica Zubac iduća će četiri tjedna (minimalno) provesti uz rub parketa, udaljen od natjecateljskog podražaja. Zaradivši ozljedu u utakmici protiv Memphis Grizzliesa u petak, prve prognoze bile su optimistične po hrvatskog reprezentativnog centra. Međutim, nakon detaljnijih pregleda, Zupcu je utvrđena ozbiljnija ozljeda desnog lista, zbog koje će vjerojatno ući u najdulju stanku u NBA karijeri.

Otkako je 2019. preselio na drugu stranu grada, iz Lakersa u Clipperse, 26-godišnji div iz Čitluka propustio je samo 12 utakmica osnovnog dijela sezone, što je krajnje avangardan podatak u modernoj eri elitnog košarkaškog karnevala, gdje je epidemija popularnog “load managementa” zarazila ligu. S obzirom na to da Zubac grabi plodove najbolje sezone karijere, u kojoj prosječno isporučuje nešto više od 12 poena, uz gotovo 10 skokova i 1,4 blokadu po utakmici, izvjesno je da će njegova ozljeda biti neugodan udarac za momčad. Dok će u ulogu prvog centra uskočiti Mason Plumlee, sedam godina stariji Amerikanac, Clippersi će bez Zupca biti tanji na obje strane parketa. Prema podacima Second Spectruma, hrvatski košarkaš sve bolje odrađuje i obrambene zadaće, pa tako suparnicima ispod koša dozvoljava uspješan završetak akcije u 48,7 posto navrata, a u konkurenciju je pritom uzeto 87 igrača, koji “brane” barem 3,5 suparnička pokušaja pod košem na utakmici, dok je uspješniji od njega bio jedino Walker Kessler (46,2), centar Utah Jazza.

S obzirom na to da je All-Star utakmica na rasporedu 18. veljače u Indianapolisu, dok pauza završava četiri dana kasnije, izvjesno je da bi Zubac priliku mogao dočekati upravo tada, ovisno o procesu oporavka. Dok su mjesta na marginama u redovima Clippersa uglavnom bila rezervirana za Kawhija Leonarda i Paula Georgea, momčad će se sada prvi put morati učiti na “dulji život bez Zupca”.

Unatoč mršavom ulasku u sezonu, klub iz Kalifornije uspio se podići do četvrtog mjesta Zapadne konferencije (26-14), hvatajući što bolju startnu poziciju za doigravanje. Tamo će, pak, htjeti isprati gorak okus povijesti, s obzirom na to da im je najbolji rezultat finale Zapada iz 2021. godine...

Skupivši u proteklih pet godina točno 399 nastupa za Los Angeles Clipperse, ozljeda je našem Iron Manu prolongirala jubilarni nastup za bijeli klub iz Grada anđela. Iako ga je trener Tyronn Lue uspoređivao s Marvelovim superjunakom, zaštićenog prepoznatljivim oklopom, Ivica Zubac iduća će četiri tjedna (minimalno) provesti uz rub parketa, udaljen od natjecateljskog podražaja. Zaradivši ozljedu u utakmici protiv Memphis Grizzliesa u petak, prve prognoze bile su optimistične po hrvatskog reprezentativnog centra. Međutim, nakon detaljnijih pregleda, Zupcu je utvrđena ozbiljnija ozljeda desnog lista, zbog koje će vjerojatno ući u najdulju stanku u NBA karijeri.

Otkako je 2019. preselio na drugu stranu grada, iz Lakersa u Clipperse, 26-godišnji div iz Čitluka propustio je samo 12 utakmica osnovnog dijela sezone, što je krajnje avangardan podatak u modernoj eri elitnog košarkaškog karnevala, gdje je epidemija popularnog “load managementa” zarazila ligu. S obzirom na to da Zubac grabi plodove najbolje sezone karijere, u kojoj prosječno isporučuje nešto više od 12 poena, uz gotovo 10 skokova i 1,4 blokadu po utakmici, izvjesno je da će njegova ozljeda biti neugodan udarac za momčad.
