Otkako se prije tri sezone upustio u avanturu zvana Druga ABA liga, Split nikad nije bio bliži završnici natjecanja nego danas. U posljednjem, 22. kolu „žuti” na Gripama večeras dočekuju Široki (18 sati) u izravnom okršaju za plasman u polufinale doigravanja i imaju sve u svojim rukama.

Pobjedom su unutra, i to s druge pozicije, a porazom mogu posve ispasti iz prve četvorke. Pritisak je velik, ali je takva i nagrada budući da drugo mjesto u polufinalu donosi prednost domaćeg terena.

Nažalost, opasnost od koronavirusa zahvatila je i Gripe pa će se utakmica igrati bez gledatelja. Kakva šteta. Interes publike bio je ogroman, dvorana bi bila ispunjena gotovo do kraja. Ovakvu utakmicu Split je čekao godinama i, evo, morat će je odigrati u sve samo ne sportskoj atmosferi.

To ne mijenja pripremu „žutih” za utakmicu, ali će im svakako oduzeti dobar dio prednosti domaćeg parketa.

- Da smo izgubili protiv Sutjeske ili Rogaške to bi nas odvelo u drugom smjeru, no dobili smo obje utakmice i sada odlučujemo sami o svojoj sudbini. To smo prije tri mjeseca kad sam preuzeo momčad i priželjkivali – kaže trener Splita Ivica Skelin.

Njegova prva povratnička utakmica na klupi bila je baš protiv Širokog 12. prosinca. Split je tada doživio težak poraz 103:84.

- Momčad je sada bitno drukčija nego tada. S nama su dvojica igrača koja tada nismo imali (op.a. Washington i Vranković). Još uvijek možemo bolje – smatra Skelin koji je u 24 utakmice upisao 17 pobjeda, od toga šest u zadnjih sedam susreta regionalne lige. U pravo su vrijeme Splićani dohvatili formu.

I sada je sve stalo u posljednjih 40 minuta. Pobjedom Split završava drugi, a porazom pada na četvrto mjesto, možda i peto ako Sutjeska pobijedi Dynamic kod kuće. I Široki se bori za goli život. Nakon poraza od Sutjeske doma sada se i on mora vaditi. U njegovim su redovima friški reprezentativac Mateo Drežnjak te bivši igrač Splita Goran Filipović.

- Široki je mlada, brza, poletna i agresivna momčad koja puno trči i dobro pritišće u obrani. Atraktivna su momčad za gledanje – rekao je Skelin i dodao:

- Filipović je bio s nama, s ponosom možemo reći da je naš igrač. On je svoju sreću pronašao u Širokom i veseli nas što igra dobro.

Uzbuđenje je zasigurno na vrhuncu. Svi se nadaju doigravanju, a u tom je uzbuđenju najvažnije da nikog ne „prebaci”. Veteran i kapetan Mateo Kedžo smireno će reći:

- Ne smijemo biti opterećeni već igrati našu igru. Sretni smo što imamo ovakvu utakmicu. Za to radimo i treniramo.

Pozvao je na oprez.

- Na Pecari to nije bila naša prava slika. U nekim su nam stvarima očitali lekciju, pogotovo u kontrama i na to ćemo morati pripaziti, kao i na „pick and roll” koji rade dosta dobro.

Otkako se prije tri sezone upustio u avanturu zvana Druga ABA liga, Split nikad nije bio bliži završnici natjecanja nego danas. U posljednjem, 22. kolu „žuti” na Gripama večeras dočekuju Široki (18 sati) u izravnom okršaju za plasman u polufinale doigravanja i imaju sve u svojim rukama.

Pobjedom su unutra, i to s druge pozicije, a porazom mogu posve ispasti iz prve četvorke. Pritisak je velik, ali je takva i nagrada budući da drugo mjesto u polufinalu donosi prednost domaćeg terena.

Nažalost, opasnost od koronavirusa zahvatila je i Gripe pa će se utakmica igrati bez gledatelja. Kakva šteta. Interes publike bio je ogroman, dvorana bi bila ispunjena gotovo do kraja. Ovakvu utakmicu Split je čekao godinama i, evo, morat će je odigrati u sve samo ne sportskoj atmosferi.

To ne mijenja pripremu „žutih” za utakmicu, ali će im svakako oduzeti dobar dio prednosti domaćeg parketa.

- Da smo izgubili protiv Sutjeske ili Rogaške to bi nas odvelo u drugom smjeru, no dobili smo obje utakmice i sada odlučujemo sami o svojoj sudbini. To smo prije tri mjeseca kad sam preuzeo momčad i priželjkivali – kaže trener Splita Ivica Skelin.

Njegova prva povratnička utakmica na klupi bila je baš protiv Širokog 12. prosinca. Split je tada doživio težak poraz 103:84.

- Momčad je sada bitno drukčija nego tada. S nama su dvojica igrača koja tada nismo imali (op.a. Washington i Vranković). Još uvijek možemo bolje – smatra Skelin koji je u 24 utakmice upisao 17 pobjeda, od toga šest u zadnjih sedam susreta regionalne lige. U pravo su vrijeme Splićani dohvatili formu.

I sada je sve stalo u posljednjih 40 minuta. Pobjedom Split završava drugi, a porazom pada na četvrto mjesto, možda i peto ako Sutjeska pobijedi Dynamic kod kuće. I Široki se bori za goli život. Nakon poraza od Sutjeske doma sada se i on mora vaditi. U njegovim su redovima friški reprezentativac Mateo Drežnjak te bivši igrač Splita Goran Filipović.

- Široki je mlada, brza, poletna i agresivna momčad koja puno trči i dobro pritišće u obrani. Atraktivna su momčad za gledanje – rekao je Skelin i dodao:

- Filipović je bio s nama, s ponosom možemo reći da je naš igrač. On je svoju sreću pronašao u Širokom i veseli nas što igra dobro.

Uzbuđenje je zasigurno na vrhuncu. Svi se nadaju doigravanju, a u tom je uzbuđenju najvažnije da nikog ne „prebaci”. Veteran i kapetan Mateo Kedžo smireno će reći:

- Ne smijemo biti opterećeni već igrati našu igru. Sretni smo što imamo ovakvu utakmicu. Za to radimo i treniramo.

Pozvao je na oprez.

- Na Pecari to nije bila naša prava slika. U nekim su nam stvarima očitali lekciju, pogotovo u kontrama i na to ćemo morati pripaziti, kao i na „pick and roll” koji rade dosta dobro.

Otkako se prije tri sezone upustio u avanturu zvana Druga ABA liga, Split nikad nije bio bliži završnici natjecanja nego danas. U posljednjem, 22. kolu „žuti” na Gripama večeras dočekuju Široki (18 sati) u izravnom okršaju za plasman u polufinale doigravanja i imaju sve u svojim rukama.

Pobjedom su unutra, i to s druge pozicije, a porazom mogu posve ispasti iz prve četvorke. Pritisak je velik, ali je takva i nagrada budući da drugo mjesto u polufinalu donosi prednost domaćeg terena.

Nažalost, opasnost od koronavirusa zahvatila je i Gripe pa će se utakmica igrati bez gledatelja. Kakva šteta. Interes publike bio je ogroman, dvorana bi bila ispunjena gotovo do kraja. Ovakvu utakmicu Split je čekao godinama i, evo, morat će je odigrati u sve samo ne sportskoj atmosferi.
