Memorijalu Borisa Hanžekovića. U Hrvatskoj su ga dočekali brojni mediji, interes javnosti je strašno velik, Gaya zaustavljaju na svakom koraku.
- Hvala vam što ste se okupili u ovolikom broju i što me podržavate. Osjećam se dobro i želim u dobrim uvjetima, rame uz rame s Carterom (Nesta Carter, Jamajčanin koji je ove godine izjednačen s Gayom na 9.78 sekundi što je najbrže vrijeme sezone, op. a.) otrčati jako dobru utrku. Očekujem jednu od najuzbudljivijih utrka ove sezone jer ćemo nas dvojica odraditi ono što se tijekom sezone očekivalo s Boltom, Powellom i sa mnom - kazao je Gay.

Jasno je kako je spreman na velike stvari. U Bruxellesu je trčao 9.79 što je  drugi rezultat sezone. A kako ga je Carter u talijanskom Rietiju sustigao i takođet trčao 9.78, sada je Amerikanac željan da se opet odvoji na čelu ljestvice najbržih ljudi u 2010. godini.
- Mislim da je vrlo moguće da ću trčati i brže od 9.69 sekundi što je moj osobni rekord, ako će biti dobri uvjeti. Bit će to jako izjednačena i jako brza trka - kazao je Gay.

Otkrio je i ovogodišnji tajnu, razloge zbog kojih je najbolji, čak je u Stockholmu bio brži i od Usaina Bolta.
- Ove sezone nema pritiska i ostao sam dovoljno opušten. Osim toga, brinuo sam se o svom tijelu, ponašao pametno i radio dosta na startu. Definitivno želim biti sto posto spreman za Svjetsko prvenstvo sljedeće godine. Ako još poradim na startu, ako ću ostati konstantan, možda ću Boltu oduzeti titulu svjetskog prvaka.

Gay je dobro upoznat i s hrvatskim atletskim uspjesima.
- Znam i Blanku i Sandru. Blanka i ja smo imali zajedničko snimanje u SAD-u i osobno sam je upoznao. Dosta smo se šalili, baš je ‘cool’. Radujem se i što ćemo se susresti opet ovdje u Zagrebu, ali i kasnije u njezinome Splitu - poručio je Gay.

Nakon Zagreba Gay će se, naime, spustiti do Splita kako bi nastupio na Kupu kontinenata koji će se 4. i 5. rujna održati na Poljudu. Veliki sprinter će biti član štafete Amerike (i sjeverne i južne) od koje se očekuje veliki rezultat bez obzira što nema Usaina Bolta i Asafe Powella.

- Hvala vam što ste se okupili u ovolikom broju i što me podržavate. Osjećam se dobro i želim u dobrim uvjetima, rame uz rame s Carterom (Nesta Carter, Jamajčanin koji je ove godine izjednačen s Gayom na 9.78 sekundi što je najbrže vrijeme sezone, op. a.) otrčati jako dobru utrku. Očekujem jednu od najuzbudljivijih utrka ove sezone jer ćemo nas dvojica odraditi ono što se tijekom sezone očekivalo s Boltom, Powellom i sa mnom - kazao je Gay.

Drago Sopta / CROPIX
Jasno je kako je spreman na velike stvari. U Bruxellesu je trčao 9.79 što je  drugi rezultat sezone. A kako ga je Carter u talijanskom Rietiju sustigao i takođet trčao 9.78, sada je Amerikanac željan da se opet odvoji na čelu ljestvice najbržih ljudi u 2010. godini.
- Mislim da je vrlo moguće da ću trčati i brže od 9.69 sekundi što je moj osobni rekord, ako će biti dobri uvjeti. Bit će to jako izjednačena i jako brza trka - kazao je Gay.

Otkrio je i ovogodišnji tajnu, razloge zbog kojih je najbolji, čak je u Stockholmu bio brži i od Usaina Bolta.
- Ove sezone nema pritiska i ostao sam dovoljno opušten. Osim toga, brinuo sam se o svom tijelu, ponašao pametno i radio dosta na startu. Definitivno želim biti sto posto spreman za Svjetsko prvenstvo sljedeće godine. Ako još poradim na startu, ako ću ostati konstantan, možda ću Boltu oduzeti titulu svjetskog prvaka.

Gay je dobro upoznat i s hrvatskim atletskim uspjesima.
- Znam i Blanku i Sandru. Blanka i ja smo imali zajedničko snimanje u SAD-u i osobno sam je upoznao. Dosta smo se šalili, baš je ‘cool’. Radujem se i što ćemo se susresti opet ovdje u Zagrebu, ali i kasnije u njezinome Splitu - poručio je Gay.

Nakon Zagreba Gay će se, naime, spustiti do Splita kako bi nastupio na Kupu kontinenata koji će se 4. i 5. rujna održati na Poljudu. Veliki sprinter će biti član štafete Amerike (i sjeverne i južne) od koje se očekuje veliki rezultat bez obzira što nema Usaina Bolta i Asafe Powella.
